Great idea, but how are bottles placed without leaks in the ceiling?

When the concrete is poured in the cast the bottles are placed before it is poured, but later when the sealante is aplied to the roof it would either be on top of the bottles to prevent leaks or it woud have to be cut around the bottles. How do you prevent leaks on the edge of bottles and concrete?

    They are actually drinking glasses. Not quite sure how they sealed it, but its been that way for abut 50 years.

    Amazing pic and amazing architectural masterpiece! Does anyone know the name of the architect who designed this house? ...Didn't this house also appear in Charlie's Angels, at the beginning of the movie?

    The architect was John Lautner.
