Got polished Neolith Callacutta 12mm in kitchen/3 bathroom. Our 10-foot kitchen countertop BROKE AFTER THE FIRST
USE. We took a pot from
the stove top and put it on the counter, heard a cracking
sound 10 minutes later, discovered an 11-inch broken crack under the pot that could be felt with
fingertip, plus many smaller less than 1/2-inch cracks in a cluster.
Found another 1.5-inch crack on another smaller kitchen
countertop. In our powder room, our
contractor dropped something and broke the countertop too.
This material has proven to be not durable,
not heat safe and is soft. The authorized fabricator was a nightmare,
he cut one of the bathroom countertop wrong twice and screamed at us.
We
also saw a house for sale with Neolith Estatuario countertop on a 11-foot kitchen
island. The slab cracked across from one end to the other end
completely and the countertop was no longer flush or level.
We
REALLY regret getting Neolith. All the hassle, time, and money down
the drain, and it didn't even last through our first meal. Stay away
from it!!!
Tried posting the picture of the 11" crack. Houzz said too many
characters? Anyone interested in the crack pic, leave your email
address, I'll email the pic to you.
