John Johnstone

John designed our kitchen and we couldn't be happier. Before meeting John, we had consulted a few other designers and felt it never clicked. When we showed up at John’s unassuming showroom, we were instantly drawn to his vision and quick wit. We told him our preference for a sense of open space and the limitations (for example, though the kitchen is large (i.e. normal sized) – because of the configuration, we can only have a small island) and he worked out a plan exactly as we have hoped for. John came up with a couple interesting ideas that turned out to be very practical too: (1) kitchen island with curves; (2) cabinets that “hide” the fridge and are wonderfully providing usable space! There is much more in his design but I believe a lot details are a matter of personal preference – and you just need to convey your message to him clearly. Our installer Gerry is John’s business partner and he did a great job too. We really enjoyed working with John, who is clearly talented, respectful of your budget, delivers on time and (as a bonus!)humorous!

We used Modern Kitchen to fully design our kitchen. We did a full renovation of the kitchen. The kitchen looks fantastic. Exactly as I had envisioned it. We are very happy with the results. John was a pleasure to work with.

John at Modern Classics helped us with cabinetry throughout our home as part of a large expansion and renovation 5 years ago. He and his partner were absolutely top-notch. They can work in any style- the quality is timeless. I would happily recommend them to anyone.

John Johntone remodeled my kitchen 16 years ago and it still stands the test of time. We have changed a few thing but the quality of the product is excellent. He has also done my master bathroom and the design is fabulous. He as also done the bar in my livingroom which is also beautiful and very functional. I have recommended John to friends and they also were very happy with his design and follow thru on the project. He also did my office!

John Johnstone did a complete redesign for our kitchen approximately two years ago. Having lived with our kitchen for a while now, I wouldn't change a single thing. From the major, functional choices to the details within each cupboard and cabinet, John designed things perfectly for my needs. The level of thought he puts into his designs and the ease in working with him have resulted in numerous referrals from me, and I've just hired him for two more renovation projects in our home. He is phenomenal.
