古くからある閑静な分譲地に建つ家。
周囲は住宅に囲まれており、いかにプライバシーを保ちながら、
開放的な空間を創ることができるかが今回のプロジェクトの課題でした。
そこでファサードにはほぼ窓は設けず、
中庭を造りプライベート空間を確保し、
そこに水盤を設け、日中は太陽光が水面を照らし光の揺らぎが天井に映ります。
夜はその水盤にライトをあて水面を照らし特別な空間を演出しています。
この水盤の水は、この建物の屋根から樋をつたってこの水盤に溜まります。
この水は災害時の非常用水や、植物の水やりにも活用できるようにしています。
建物の中に入ると明るい空間が広がります。
HALLからリビングやダイニングをつなぐ通路は廊下とはとらえず、
中庭のデッキとつなぐ居室として考えています。
この部分は吹き抜けになっており、上部からの光も沢山取り込むことができます。
基本的に空間はつながっており空調の効率化を図っています。

UserThis is a lovely, 2 story home in Littleton, Colorado. It backs up to the High Line Canal and has truly stunning mountain views. When our clients purchased the home it was stuck in a 1980's time warp and didn't quite function for the family of 5. They hired us to to assist with a complete remodel. We took out walls, moved windows, added built-ins and cabinetry and worked with the clients more rustic, transitional taste.

building Lab, inc.Eichler in Marinwood - At the larger scale of the property existed a desire to soften and deepen the engagement between the house and the street frontage. As such, the landscaping palette consists of textures chosen for subtlety and granularity. Spaces are layered by way of planting, diaphanous fencing and lighting. The interior engages the front of the house by the insertion of a floor to ceiling glazing at the dining room.
Jog-in path from street to house maintains a sense of privacy and sequential unveiling of interior/private spaces. This non-atrium model is invested with the best aspects of the iconic eichler configuration without compromise to the sense of order and orientation.
