STEPHEN FLETCHER ARCHITECTSThe tapered staircase is formed of laminated oak and was supplied and installed by SMET, a Belgian company. It matches the parquet flooring, and sits elegantly in the space by the sliding doors.
Structural glass balustrades help maintain just the right balance of solidity, practicality and lightness of touch and allow the proportions of the rooms and front-to-rear views to dominate.

A small hanging garden feature creates an interesting focal point between the living room and formal dining room. With the exception of the dining room, the first floor is open in all public areas, which perfectly accommodates Raymond's and Jennifer's penchant for entertaining.
The painted black runner was added once Jennifer decided to remove the carpeting from the steps. It visually supports the decor of the rest of the room, and in turn becomes a highlight of the space rather than an afterthought.

Clear alder custom cabinets, a floating wood floor, and ceiling beams make the space interesting. A barn door hides a built in desk, and the staircase is painted with rainbow colors. The owners' decor confirms the space's funky character - notice the prominently placed black sheep.....

Lane Williams ArchitectsConstructed on a steep hillside the property was small, with limited access, and considered largely unbuildable, however those challenges informed the design of the Raye Street House which was conceived as a large tree house. The inside is wide open with exposed trusses and a very industrial straightforward use of materials.
