YouthfulNestThe inspiration for this collection of art came from an old Pinterest pin. I loved the organized chaos aesthetic of this art filled corner. To compliment the rooms subtle city and travel theme I searched my extensive postcard collection for images in the room’s pop colors. Instead of buying expensive trinkets and bobbles to remember a place or event I visited I always pick-up an inexpensive, but memorable postcard so I had 100′s of images to choose from. However, I wanted for the main image you see as you walk into the room to be personal and rich with history. I landed on my husband’s family crest, which I tweaked on the computer and turned into a simple one color file. A basic color copy costing $3 meets a $20 oversized frame and custom piece of art is born for less than $25. As for the opposite wall’s largest image I selected an old New York City subway map I owned. It is from the 80′s which is special for a couple reasons. First, it was designed by the famed Italian team Vignelli Associates. Secondly, since it was produced before 9/11 it shows the Twin Towers location and original subway stops at this fallen site.
One other cool thing is that this art can grow as we collected more postcards from places we go with our son in the future.
In order to show off tons of artwork while maintaining a streamlined architectural appearance that is easy on the eyes, all frames were kept white. As always, keeping in mind my budget I collected all frames from on sale 20-60% off at various locations.

Jami AbbadessaThis couple contacted me before their little bundle of joy arrived to design their nursery. We started with what used to be a very pink little girl’s room, decorated by the previous owners, and turned it into a contemporary cozy space for their newborn. The carpet flooring was replaced with hardwood maple, a modern baseboard replaced the traditional looking ones, new closet doors with a maple frame and frosted glass inserts replaced the standard white doors and recessed lighting was added to brighten up the once dark room. The couple didn’t want the standard pink or blue nursery, but opted for a more gender neutral and modern color palette. So using my favorite base – grey – we added some foxy orange pops! The maple and grey crib and dresser are Oeuf, the orange glider came from Room and Board, the windows were covered by Room and Board as well and most of the accessories and decor was ordered on Etsy.

ballonSTUDIO interiors & remodelingOur San Francisco studio designed this beautiful four-story home for a young newlywed couple to create a warm, welcoming haven for entertaining family and friends. In the living spaces, we chose a beautiful neutral palette with light beige and added comfortable furnishings in soft materials. The kitchen is designed to look elegant and functional, and the breakfast nook with beautiful rust-toned chairs adds a pop of fun, breaking the neutrality of the space. In the game room, we added a gorgeous fireplace which creates a stunning focal point, and the elegant furniture provides a classy appeal. On the second floor, we went with elegant, sophisticated decor for the couple's bedroom and a charming, playful vibe in the baby's room. The third floor has a sky lounge and wine bar, where hospitality-grade, stylish furniture provides the perfect ambiance to host a fun party night with friends. In the basement, we designed a stunning wine cellar with glass walls and concealed lights which create a beautiful aura in the space. The outdoor garden got a putting green making it a fun space to share with friends.

Atelier NyoodLe lit de bébé apparaît au centre de cette composition plein format dont les placards ont été réalisés à partir de caissons Platsa d’Ikea de 60 centimètres de large. Il s’agit d’un excellent exemple de mobilier évolutif puisque l’alcôve de 140×70 centimètres, enserrant pile le lit bébé, a été pensée pour y couler éventuellement un couchage double tel un lit pont.

Interior Enhancement Group, Inc.To encourage their children to visit with their grandchildren, our clients asked us to create a guest bedroom with an en suite nursery suitable for boys or girls. They provided the elegant crib and we added custom bedding plus a faux snow leopard throw for soft texture and middle-of-the-night snuggling with baby. The color-block window panels and cornice boxes with Swarovski crystals match the window treatment behind the grownup bed and the Shimmer Suede wall treatment is consistent throughout the space. The open floor area throughout the nursery provides room for growing children to play.
