Zellij GalleryZellij Gallery previously known as Le Mosaiste collaborated with interior designer Claudia Skylar of Maestro & Skylar Architects to come up with a custom design for the kitchen backsplash tile of a loft condominium in downtown Chicago. The product used is our Fassi mosaic in custom colors. What makes the design of this kitchen so brilliant and unusual, is how incredibly well the backsplash with the handmade Moroccan mosaics fits in with the rest of this very contemporary and eclectic kitchen. Custom-made, ceiling mounted open shelving with steel frames and reclaimed wood are practical and show off favorite serve-ware. A small bank of lower cabinets house small appliances and large pots between the kitchen and mudroom. Light reflects off the paneled ceiling and Florence Broadhurst wallpaper at the far wall.
