In the DeetsA spa-like master bathroom retreat. Custom cement tile flooring, custom oak vanity with quartz countertop, Calacatta marble walk-in shower for two, complete with a ledge bench and brass shower fixtures. Brass mirrors and sconces. Attached master closet with custom closet cabinetry and a separate water closet for complete privacy.
Landis Architects | BuildersOur clients wanted a master bath connected to their bedroom. We transformed the adjacent sunroom into an elegant and warm master bath that reflects their passion for midcentury design. The design started with the walnut double vanity the clients selected in the mid-century style. We built on that style with classic black and white tile. We built that ledge behind the vanity so we could run plumbing and insulate around the pipes as it is an exterior wall. We could have built out that full wall but chose a knee wall so the client would have a ledge for additional storage. The wall-mounted faucets are set in the knee wall.

Craig Martin DesignThis very small bathroom was visually expanded by removing the tub/shower curtain at the end of the room and replacing it with a full-width dual shower/steamshower. A tub-fill spout was installed to serve as a baby tub filler/toddler "shower." The pedestal trough sink was used to open up the floor space, and an art deco cabinet was modified to a minimal depth to hold other bathroom essentials. The medicine cabinet is custom-made, has two receptacles in it, and is 8" deep.

The client was interested in a much larger shower, and he really wanted a sauna if squeeze it in there. Because this bathroom was tight, I decided we could potentially go into the large walk-in closet and expand to include a sauna. The client was looking for a refreshing coastal theme, a feel good space that was completely different than what existed.
