LuxapatioA complete contemporary backyard project was taken to another level of design. This amazing backyard was completed in the beginning of 2013 in Weston, Florida.
The project included an Outdoor Kitchen with equipment by Lynx, and finished with Emperador Light Marble and a Spanish stone on walls. Also, a 32” X 16” wooden pergola attached to the house with a customized wooden wall for the TV on a structured bench with the same finishes matching the Outdoor Kitchen. The project also consist of outdoor furniture by The Patio District, pool deck with gold travertine material, and an ivy wall with LED lights and custom construction with Black Absolute granite finish and grey stone on walls.

A sun ledge entry provides sun enthusiasts with the best of both worlds, access to the sun with the cooling effects of the pool water. For the more adventurous, a custom spillover spa with massaging jets generates the epitome of relaxation.
The pool area is simply breath taking and creates a uniform look with the use of fossil square cut flagstone, tying in all the areas for a seamless appearance. The pool features are exquisite and include a multilevel natural boulder waterfall with a secluded bench that forms part of this unique structure. A custom lounge area off the waterfall is a great spot to catch the sun’s rays without missing all the fun and activity of the pool. For the sports minded, a hoops net creates an aquatic basketball court for a game of pick up water style! This pool installation is an example of how a backyard combines the elements of location, ambiance, client tastes and needs to create an ethereal experience that will last a lifetime of enjoyment.

Betz was honoured to be asked to build the pool, spa and two ancillary water features. The owners with a young family wanted a multifaceted facility for recreation, relaxation and entertaining.

Greey PickettThe landscape of this home honors the formality of Spanish Colonial / Santa Barbara Style early homes in the Arcadia neighborhood of Phoenix. By re-grading the lot and allowing for terraced opportunities, we featured a variety of hardscape stone, brick, and decorative tiles that reinforce the eclectic Spanish Colonial feel. Cantera and La Negra volcanic stone, brick, natural field stone, and handcrafted Spanish decorative tiles are used to establish interest throughout the property.
A front courtyard patio includes a hand painted tile fountain and sitting area near the outdoor fire place. This patio features formal Boxwood hedges, Hibiscus, and a rose garden set in pea gravel.
The living room of the home opens to an outdoor living area which is raised three feet above the pool. This allowed for opportunity to feature handcrafted Spanish tiles and raised planters. The side courtyard, with stepping stones and Dichondra grass, surrounds a focal Crape Myrtle tree.
One focal point of the back patio is a 24-foot hand-hammered wrought iron trellis, anchored with a stone wall water feature. We added a pizza oven and barbecue, bistro lights, and hanging flower baskets to complete the intimate outdoor dining space.

Dual Concept DesignAn opulent space which features a 20' infinity edge swimming pool, a custom designed bar with brass details and mirrored tile backsplash, as well as the main seating area with lounge furnishings which are luxurious and durable. Behind the seating arrangement is a custom designed piece of mirror and black lacquered millwork.

Mike Farley Pool Designer, SWD, ASLAThe Lightness vs Darkness theme carries throughout this project including never used materials and details to create this transitional gem in FlowerMound, TX. The axis and cross axis have stunning water and fire feature elements in the asymmetrical design. The black precise stacked slate spillway provides sound and visual effects and contrasts with the fire line burner visible from everywhere inside. This draws you out to enjoy the pool, and a lot more. The pool offered great places to hang out with the tanning ledge and built in bar stools and lots of room for the game of volleyball. The cross axis from the master bedroom draws the eye across the pool, through the black all tile vanishing edge spa, splitting the dual cabanas, through the fire pit, to gaze on the "Dark Planet" starburst light. The cabanas were divided into entertainment and dining. The graphite air slate, from Spain, covered the entertainment floating center and the cooking counter. Ivory Travertine in a stack bond pattern accented the cabanas, porch, fire pit and key areas blending with the coping and some veneers. The cabana steel roof matched the front home entry roof and helps unify the existing home with the additions. Details were important down the lighted and tiled vanishing edge channel for the spa.
