Our reno required minor reconfiguration of spaces in the kitchen and front entry as well as the bathrooms, laundry room, and back hall. New cabinetry, countertops, plumbing and light fixtures, backsplash and floor tile, rerouting plumbing and electrical, and painting. Aldo was willing to use materials I’d already purchased from several suppliers he had not previously worked with, as well as terrazzo countertops from a manufacturer we’d hoped to use, but whose contract with Home Depot was, sadly, terminated. The terrazzo was a hard-to-accept loss for me because I’d searched for months for a local source for terrazzo that came in pre-made sheets — or else someone experienced in building moulds into which resin and coloured glass chips are poured, and then levelling and polishing the terrazzo thus created. All of the tradesmen who worked on the job were skilled, cooperative, personable, and neat — a joy to have around. Communication was great throughout. Cost: $165K Cdn., ~ $100K US

We hired Laratta Homes almost 12 years ago to knock down my husbands family home, and build a new one.
