Hi. We are Lex McMillan Architects. We divide our time between our offices in London and our countryside base in rural Dorset- the best of both worlds. We are a team of architects and designers delivering bespoke architectural solutions for discerning clients. If we had an in-house style it would be a contemporary take on 'Chelsea classic' but as you can see from our projects we respond to the individual desires of our clients. Our work is certainly eclectic, but always with the intention to provide homes whereby the personality of the owners are allowed to shine through. We were founded in 2009 by Lex McMillan RIBA who came from a background of high end commercial and residential work within central London. Five years were spent living and working in Helsinki and this Scandinavian experience continues to influence much of our work. Above all, we have a proven track record in delivering bespoke, beautiful homes on time and on budget. We are also really friendly and fun to work with. I can't rate Lex highly enough. It was a real pleasure working with him on the Campden Hill project; the finished job looks amazing! The crittal windows and doors were the right choice and flood kitchen space with light. The aquarium is also a lovely addition. Great job!

When we brought our house it had not been touched for 30 years and was a complete wreck. A friend recommended Lex and his team and the results have been amazing! He oversaw everything from the planning through to helping choose the bathroom tiles. He listened to our wishes and understood our vision completely whilst making sure we stuck within our budget (more or less). We now have a warm, cosy, "Scandi-stylish" home and can't recommend his services highly enough.

I assisted Lex and the team detailing the technical information for construction. Lex drew up great plans for our listed barn conversion. He produced the light and space we desired after living in the dark adjacent listed farmhouse. He dealt well with our exceptionally difficult conservation officer. The end product is a joy to live in.

Lex and his team assisted us with our listed building project and we were impressed from the outset. His vision helped us see different ways of using the existing space and he successfully negotiated the planning process without a hitch. He got on well with the listed building officer and this helped with the smooth running of the project through to its completion. In particular he was creative in combing the old with the new. He was always on hand to help and nothing seemed too much trouble. if we do anything similar in the future we will be sure to call him immediately!

Kenham Building Ltd

We have hired Lex to be project architect on quite a number of projects over the last 10 or so years and are happy to recommend him. These projects have ranged from large scale house refurbishments through to smaller apartments and the projects have been run smoothly and professionally. The most recent projects have been a basement apartment on Lonsdale Road and a larger 5 storey demolition and refurbishment on Westbourne Grove (both W11). He is always very helpful during the planning and design process and available on site to talk through and resolve any problems during construction. His designs have been well thought out, creative and within the given budget. We would be happy to recommend his services to others seeking architectural assistance.

A commenté : thus is beautiful. did you dry wall around fireplace? does it get hotHi- we dry lined the wall in something called Superlux wireline board (quite expensive) and then a normal 12.5mm plasterboard with skim. It does not get too hot, just a bit warm. Glad you like it. Lex
