I have worked with Bill for almost five years now after completing a home addition and renovation, and meeting him through a contractor on that job. Bill has transformed every part of our yard - first with the front courtyard, and most recently with a large backyard renovation which included multiple retaining walls, gorgeous planting schemes, fire pit design and installation, drainage work, revised deck access, etc. We went from a large sloping yard to more usable space than I could have hoped for - and all with natural flow and design as if the plan had been there all along. Bill always took the time to answer my questions thoughtfully without ever seeming to mind me asking about some things more than once! My cottage style home was built in 1946 in the planned community of Mariemont. I have lived in my home for over 20 years, during which time I have always envisioned my yard and gardens to be lush and beautiful. However, during those years I failed miserably with my many attempts at picking out landscaping and flowers. I had a raised garden bed erected in my backyard with hopes of gorgeous colors blooming throughout the spring, summer and fall, at one point even attempting a wild flower garden, all with lousy success. Fortunately for me, I knew Bill Ripley prior to contracting with him to draft a landscape that would give me the enjoyment I was looking for. On his website I had seen the many lawns and gardens that he had designed over the years. I don’t know why it hadn’t occurred to me before this, but in 2013 I realized his talents would bring me the yard and gardens I have been dreaming of. Bill listened to my ideas and understood the vision I hoped to achieve, and introduced his own thoughts for improvements on the project. He drew up plans to overhaul the entire landscape of my home, from the front yard flower beds to the back yard raised flower bed to tree plantings for the perimeter of my back yard. Bill came to my home and walked the perimeter time and time again, looking at all angles and taking many notes. Three important items on my agenda were: I wanted it to be beautiful, I wanted it to look professional and I wanted it to be as labor-free for me as possible upon completion. Bill delivered, over and above my expectations. I now have the yard and gardens I had always dreamed of enjoying. Many neighbors and passer bys stop to compliment the beauty of the plantings and gardens. The raised bed in the backyard is replete with perennials that blossom and bloom throughout the spring, summer and fall. It is hard to believe that over 40 tree plantings were fit into the perimeter of my backyard, affording me a living privacy fence. This being the second summer since the plantings, it’s wonderful and exciting to see that it came to fruition, all stemming from the ingenuity and creativity of Bill’s designs. Bill Ripley is the ENTIRE package when it comes to architectural landscape design. Unlike many designers whose work looks like carbon copies in their client's backyards, Bill Ripley is an architectural genius who goes out of his way to create a one-of-a-kind design with the homeowner's taste and natural surroundings in mind. We handed him a near impossible project of adding a swimming pool (along a hillside) to an enormous existing flagstone patio. The kicker was to make it look like it was part of the original plan. No one could figure it out or wanted to tackle it. Even though we live over two hours away, Bill Ripley didn't shy away from the task. We ended up with a backyard, that even I admit, looks like it came straight out of a magazine. His attention to every detail (lighting, plantings and material) was so well thought through. He even worked hand in hand with the pool contractor to ensure structural integrity of his recommended infinity edge lagoon-shaped pool. Aside from his natural ability in his profession, he is equally as professional. He is by far the most punctual, efficient, respectable and attentive consultant with whom I've worked. We will definitely use him again!

In 2007 we contracted to have a new home of about 10,000 + sq, feet built on 6 acres of land and hired the above co. to provide Landscaping for the project. This included all landscaping around the house and the yard in front and rear. The house sets about 300 ft. from the road and the rear is about 200ft.deep. They were also involved in the design of all walkways around the house along with a large car court in front, a bridge over a creek , the creek { 250 ft.Long} was there design,the entry to the drive including walls and various gardens . There work FAR EXCEEDED our expectations and we continue to receive very gracious comments on the property as it matures. We continue and will continue to use A L D for all our landscape needs. I think you should also know that A L D were awarded The Ohio Nursery & Landscape Assn. 40th Annual Project of the Year award for are Home. I would recommend them to anyone for any job. I have worked with Bill since 2003 & he is the consummate professional. He has designed all aspects of my landscape including decks, patios, pool, walkways, bridges, fencing, driveway, screening, lighting, annual beds, an extensive perennial bed and all tree & shrub selections. Because my particular taste calls for authentic materials - real brick, natural stone, wood, etc., Bill goes to great lengths to find and use materials to my liking. He also brings a great team of professionals to the table to carry out his designs or is happy to work with your current tradesmen. And because he is always sensitive to your budget, he will do as much or as little as you ask him to do. He's endlessly patient with my endless ideas and in the end comes up with award winning designs (literally). Probably his greatest asset is his work ethic. If he tells you he will have a drawing to you in a week - he will have a drawing to you in a week. In my experience, this is a rare commodity in any business.

Mr. Ripley's work is simply amazing. Never in my wildest dreams did I believe that my backyard could look like the cover of a magazine. He is completely professional and so easy to work with. Will definitely use him again. Highly recommend his services - you will not be disappointed.

What an extraordinary portfolio! What is it about beautiful things that makes life more satisfying and meaningful? and with such a variety of ways to capture it.
