We have worked with CK Landscape for over 10 years. They do incredible work. No matter the difficulty, I have seen Alex and his team provide amazing solutions that are breathtaking and beautiful that create a relaxing atmosphere on the property. Stone, pools, waterfalls, landscape design, plant selections, irrigation, exterior lighting and controls, they do it all and do it extremely well. We love to work with them on projects. They are definitely the top choice when it comes to landscaping in the Bay Area.

Alex and team redesigned our hillside. We had old, decaying retaining walls and very little usable space. We had plans drawn from an architect, Alex reviewed and added his creative vision. His suggestions made the project more practical and more beautiful. Alex was very responsive and his team was at our house everyday. The team was professional and respectful. It was a big and ambitious project and it came out beautifully, and on budget, we are very happy. Alex and his dog Bodey were great partners.

If I could give Alex and his team 10 stars I would since in a moment of stress and chaos during the 2017 firestorm in Sonoma County Alex sprang into action by implementing a totally spur of the moment irrigation system that surrounded our house with oversized sprinklers and a pump submerged in our pool. In the event that the fire had spread to our home (thankfully it didn't reach us) we were ready with Alex's makeshift fire fighting invention. He called me when he realized the fires were out of control and without hesitation had his team show up the same day with several hundred feet of pvc, sprinklers, glue etc. in hand. In addition to Alex stepping forward in a crisis situation, his team did a knock out job on our backyard landscape with very low maintenance, low water usage plants. Alex himself placed our boulders into the hillside and it looks amazing. He also helped us install an in the ground Olympic trampoline which required extensive drainage. Alex is professional, hard working, very enthusiastic, fun to work with and has the most integrity of any person you could meet. He's a rock star in my book!

As a boutique landscape architecture firm, Simmonds & Associates is very particular about which contractors we recommend to our clients. CK Water Systems and Landscape Development is one of the very few we wholeheartedly and unreservedly recommend to our clients. Having a great contractor as part of the 3-way collaboration with the architect and client is so important to the success of the project, and Alex Cartwright and his team help make the project exceed the client's expectation.

A design for the garden had been developed by Susan Morrison. After interviewing a number of landscapers, we met and were impressed by Alex Cartwright. We were struck by the care with which he scrutinized the plans and the time he took to study the landscape. He then reviewed the plantings with us, one by one, walking off their locations. We were particularly struck by his attention to irrigation and the detail of his analysis of the network of pipes already installed. The contract proposal that he provided was comprehensive and strikingly clear and comprehensible, covering soil preparation and grading, special fencing, construction of redwood boxes, concrete steps and piers, planting and irrigation systems. His crews came every day, each time superintended, and worked without interruption. I particularly remember, and appreciate, the care that they took installing irrigation. They felt a junction box, if that’s the right term, was not the right size, and asked Alex to come and examine it. Alex took a decision to put a larger one in its place. Had I not happened to overhear the discussion, I would not have known of it, since there was no extra charge for the larger unit. Alex came regularly to inspect the work and always when we had a question. He took the initiative of inspecting the irrigation system that had been done and pointed out a drain that had been improperly installed. I am grateful for that extra attention, as it turned out there was an underlying problem we had been entirely unaware of, and could remedy now at little cost. Apart from this one addition to the work order, all the work was done on time and right on budget. The measure of the quality of Alex’s work, of course, is the quality of the garden as it comes alive. We feel fortunate. This was a once-in-a-lifetime project for us. The garden has turned out splendidly, beyond our expectations. It is a source of joy.

I'm glad I was finally given the opportunity to evaluate the services of CK. Our project was one that morphed from a small beginning to a rather large ending. The reason for this is the CK work looked so good that we decided to extend and extend again three more times until the entire property was redone. The initial assignment began in April 2014 and we continued working through March 2016, more than enough time to judge the abilities and character of CK. Without a master plan and an evolving project there is considerable room for things not to go right, but CK was always knowledgeable and able to immediately address any problem that did arise. And without a master plan in hand their talented vision and creativity was on full display, and I always felt their vested interest in the project matched my own, and this lasted through the end phases when attention can naturally tend to wane. Even continuing well beyond that point there has never been any hesitation to help me when I have a need. The reason -- CK are solid folks who take tremendous pride in their work and truly care about their clients.

I was very pleased with the service and work provided by CK Landscape! I would highly recommend them for any landscaping work (they can do it all!) and I will continue to use their services in the future. I was impressed by how responsive Alex was to my emails and texts. He was also great with scheduling and always notified me in advance when his team would be arriving. His proposal was priced well and detailed. The project included lawn renovation, installing new plants, installing bluestone over concrete pathway and steps, converting all my outdoor light fixtures to LED, converting my lawn irrigation spray heads to MP rotators to save water, repairing pavers, replacing cracked travertine tiles in my patio and installing tiles that fell off in my pool. Alex was very accommodating when it came to searching for the right bluestone for our pathway as my husband was very picky about the color and look. Alex drove to several different stone places to get us samples and finally found the perfect one at Bay Area Bluestone. They installed approx 500sf of 12"x24" blue select stone in flamed finish over our existing concrete/ugly red brick pathway and steps. The bluestone made a huge difference to the overall appearance of our front yard and entry way and Alex and his team did a wonderful job! The team was very professional, friendly, courteous, always cleaned up and left my place spotless at the end of each day. Alex's brother Matt is very knowledgable with plants and helped me with the plant selection. Alex made sure that I was happy with every little thing and if I had any issues, he would make his guys redo or fix it until I was 100% satisfied with the work. My dog also loved playing with his dog!
