Danny Broe and his team (Fahimah Badrulhisham and interior designer Veronica Andrus-Blaskievics) helped to transform our dark, cramped semi in Bondi into a light-filled space full of clean, modern lines and lots of storage that also worked with the 1930s heritage. The firm offers creative solutions within a reasonable budget. The new double-height void forms a majestic showpiece in our living area, flooding the area with light and giving the illusion of grand proportions. The custom steel staircase balustrade is an elegant talking point. Danny also designed lots of beautiful joinery throughout, including a planter box that supports an indoor trellis. Renovating can be stressful, but Danny was very calm and accommodating. Our CDC application was seamless and the 9-month renovation wrapped up with only a few minor hitches. Our friends and even our reno-averse parents have been wowed by the finished product. We’re now happily ensconced in our new home during Sydney lockdown 2.0 – living in such a beautiful space has certainly taken the edge off homeschooling!

An old terrace that needed a new life, and no time to do it. Danny not only designed the extensions and modifications, but made it happened. Working with Danny Broe and his team was the beginning of a professional architectural relationship. He listened to ideas, designed a once imagined bathroom magnificently, connected us to quality trades people, reminded us of budgets, gave us prompt work turn around, communicated in person and in writing attentively and clearly. Finally he carefully considered builder problems then managed negations with the client provided builder resolving all difficulties. People who have seen the transformation from pre to the post-renovation are in awe in the sense of amazement at the stylish and thoughtful changes. For instance the understated ‘ambiguous’ slightly Japanese bathroom with a sunken bath, bi-fold door opening onto a deck, the textured tiles, matt fittings, shadow ceiling lighting and generous bevelled mirror cabinet makes peoples’ skin tingle with delight. The slightly French kitchen/dining is all at once open, raw and sophisticated yet timeless. It will not scream 2017. His colleagues are smart, thoughtful and helpful. They walked me through what, when, where to buy all the fixtures, fittings, colour decisions, and external service providers. I highly recommend this architect and his team.

We contracted Danny Broe and his team to work on redevelopment of our Weatherboard house in Leichhardt. The house still had a large number of original features and our goal was to retain as much of the character as we could while making the home into our family home. Danny immediately impressed us with his sensitivity to our needs and the desire to retain the original character of the building in the new design. As a result the options that Danny presented were in line with our expectations. Danny was fantastic at listening to our feedback on the designs and more then comfortable to push back on us if the idea or desire was unachievable. Through the DA application, Danny's understanding of the Leichhardt council process meant that our plans were approved quickly and without many questions. The team were thorough in their planning and presentation and they had thought of all the areas that needed to be covered with the council. This made the process of gaining approval relatively seamless. Danny and his team also managed the contract administration and the build process and during this his team was excellent and managed our expectations and the builder communication well. We always felt briefed on the status and across any unforeseen issues. What we liked about Danny and his team is that they were able to think on their feet to resolve a problem or state that they needed to think about it and run some scenarios for a solution. In the end we are very happy with our final build and found the process of working with Danny and his team extremely satisfying.

We hired Danny and his team to help us renovate our lovely old inner city home. Whilst we are yet to build we have found Danny and his team to be extremely easy to work with so far.
