Elizabeth Monical Interior Design is a full-service design firm that provides their clients with innovative and personal designs in the Midwest Modern Asthetic. Elizabeth Monical established EMD in 2008 in order to pursue her passion for bringing a modern style sensibility into the greater Omaha area. An Omaha native, she holds a Bachelors of Science – Design degree attained from the UNL Interior Design/Interior Architecture Program. Her passion for design was kindled from her freedom to create her own space from a young age.Having a background in Architecture makes her unique among Omaha designers in that she begins each project with structural/architectural decisions…morphing living spaces in ways most designers cannot.Over the years, Elizabeth has honed her skill set and has developed a strong sense of what her clients are looking to achieve…and how best to achieve it:

We have gone back to Monical Design for a second home renovation project. Our first was a complete overhaul of our kitchen, dinning, and living space area. The second was for an exterior revamp. Elizabeth and her team helped us to envision our home and spaces in a way we couldn't see on our own. We had a few areas that required problem solving and creativity - think large early 90's multilevel home. She listened to our needs and helped to solve those problems with innovative solutions and beautiful design. I would highly recommend Monical Design!

I spent 5 1/2 years dreaming of what our kitchen would one day look like. It turned out better than I ever could have imagined, thanks to Elizabeth and Sammie. I loved Monical's work I saw online, but what those beautiful images don't show is how awesome Elizabeth and Sammie are to work with. Elizabeth and Sammie are down to earth, honest, and fun! They had my husband pegged and knew exactly how to work with him (he's a bit difficult and readily admits - everything he questioned them on...they were right). Several times throughout the design and remodel I felt like Elizabeth and Sammie were our project advocates. They brought so much function to our space, it is by far my favorite room in our house, and I cannot wait to call Elizabeth and Sammie when we do the next room. I could go on and on...Elizabeth and Sammie deserve far more than 5 stars.

We had a basic idea for revamping our kitchen and master bath but we wanted a professional designer to ensure the renovation didn’t look or feel like an afterthought. Monical Design created plans that moved a laundry space out of the kitchen and up to our second floor. I highly recommend Elizabeth and her team. They are knowledgeable, professional, incredibly creative, and great project managers. I hired Elizabeth because I loved her aesthetic. She replied to my request for a meeting right away, and came to the house soon after. She maintained that level of responsiveness throughout our project. At our initial meeting I showed her my idea book, we walked through the house, and the designs she came up with were everything I hoped for: she integrated all my disparate ideas into one beautiful, cohesive design that was beyond anything I could imagine on my own. She connected us to an outstanding general contractor and helped manage the entire project. She maintained regular contact, and I always felt we were a team and that she was looking out for us.

What I liked most about Elizabeth is that she listened to our wants and needs and then steered us in the right direction to choose products that were unique for our home and not something I could just run out and purchase at Menards or a Home Depot. She did the research and then presented it in such a way that it was not overwhelming. Yes, we might have been able to this ourselves but the time, effort and knowledge she put into the design was extremely helpful as we changed the original design several times during the process. I would highly recommend sitting down and having a chat with Elizabeth and see if she can help you design the project that you can envision in your mind but don't know how to go about executing. She found some unique and beautiful pieces for us and her work was done in a timely manner.

Elizabeth did the interior drawings, sketches and Cadd, as well as all assisting us in all finishes, fixtures, hardware etc. for our future lake house. her ideas were creative, beautiful and functional all at the same time. She is extremely talented and we were blessed to be able to work with her. The best part is that she is a very nice person! I highly recommend her to anyone!

Elizabeth Monical was the consummate professional in every way. It was a pleasure working with someone who listens so acutely and receptively and then responds with such creativity. Elizabeth possesses an almost uncanny ability to translate a client's requirements, be they technical or idiosyncratic, into a practical reality. She was courteous, resourceful, punctual and very much at ease in our company. She brought impressive imagination and insight to our project, no doubt the result of her deep occupational credentials and profound experience. I would employ Elizabeth again at a moment's notice. There isn't one thing about our kitchen that we would change....that's not bad. Do yourself a favor and hire her.

If you're looking for that edge; that style that makes people go "Whoa", then Elizabeth is a great source. As a real estate agent, I see many people try to take on transitions; sometimes they are good, but many times they spend money and effort in the wrong places. We renovated a home in District 66. She was able to take a large room and bring it together; giving it the wow factor. She was also fair in pricing and respected what areas I wanted help in. If I had to do it all over again, I would definitely consult her from the get go. So much time, energy, and frustration can be wasted. Do yourself and your home a favor. If you leave it in the hands of the contractor and cabinet maker, you will get the same thing their last customer did.

Elizabeth Monical is the most forward thinking designer I've come across. As someone who resides in the Midwest yet has a modern sense of design, I had a hard time finding a designer that had fresh modern ideas towards design. Elizabeth is that designer and has a special niche outside the conventional, traditional designers we have here. She was able to interpret my ideas into functional beautiful concepts for my living needs. She did it all, from the conceptual to the drawings to the specs for the custom design we incorporated. She brought my ideas to life! I would work with her again in a heartbeat. Looking forward to our next project!
