Absolutely loved everything Emily did! She followed our brief perfectly and sourced some of the most incredible items that I just wouldn't have been able to find! Her professionalism was always of the highest standard and I loved that Emily wouldn't settle for 'second best' if an item wasn't quite right. I love my newly transformed home. Emily from New Black Designs understood what I was trying to achieve, I am so glad I listened to some of the ideas I had never imagined. We hired Emily to style our home prior to going to auction. Emily was fantastic from the beginning- excellent communication, and her style is reflected in the fabulous photos and the interest we had in our property. She was incredibly helpful also in organising cleaning of the house and carpet and coordinated this with her own styling and moving in of the furniture. Emily definitely made this an easy and enjoyable process, and I would not hesitate in using her services again in the future. There is no doubt the expert styling helped us to achieve a great outcome under the hammer!

We know that this result is due to Emily from New Black Designs. Emily’s initial consultation identified all the key areas that required attention and then a framework on how to resolve them. Once the work had been completed Emily styled our home with her inventory of chairs, bedding, artwork, rugs, pillows and accessories whilst utilizing our basic existing furniture. Selling a home is very stressful. It is hard to know what items to pay attention to and where to invest a limited budget in a small amount of time. Emily knew what would be important for our prospective buyers and small changes created a dramatic improvement in the appearance of our home. (De-cluttering, home improvements & painting). I have worked in the mortgage industry for 8 years, I know how stressful this time is but Emily’s advice and styling meant that our selling experience was really very easy.

Absolutely fantastic - we were referred to New Black designs by a friend who had used them previously, and to be honest, I was initially doubtful about enlisting someone (unnecessary?) like Emily. New Black Designs totally obliterated all doubts on every front, and we're now in the position that we would never consider putting another property to market WITHOUT the assistance of Emily and the team at NBD. In purely financial terms: you can't afford to NOT hire NBD. By my conservative calculations, for every $1 we spent with the NBD team, we reaped a $2.85 reward. But assessing NBD on only financial returns would omit some of the most rewarding parts of the experience - the friendliness, the market knowledge, the impeccable style, the attention to detail, the level of communication (not just with us, but also with our agent) and the fantastic work ethic. All faultless. As a natural born cynic, I don't give my unreserved endorsement very often (nor write long reviews!), however New Black Designs deserve every bit of it.

My partner and myself purchased an old decommissioned kindergarten about five years ago. The building is an old very plain 1950's red brick building. A friend recommended Emily from New Black Designs to assist us with the renovations. From the outset we knew Emily was the right person for the job. We have nearly completed the interior of the house and it looks fabulous. At our first meeting I advised Emily that I liked an eclectic look so we decided on a combination of Industrial/Art Deco/Hampton's style. I don't believe I would have been brave enough to put all of this together but with Emily's assistance it has really worked. It goes without saying that renovating a house can be quite stressful and it certainly has been for us. There have been numerous times where I have called Emily for a debrief. She has this amazing ability to put everything into perspective and to calm things down. She has always made her self available. She is also an extremely respectful and genuinely nice person. We have nearly completed the boring "bits" of the renovation and now it's time (of course with Emily's help) to put it all together to make everything "pop". Now we have a beautiful home to enjoy rather than a boring old building. I would recommend Emily to anyone.

It was an absolute pleasure working Emily from New Black Designs. From the outset she was professional and friendly. With opening my first cafe I wasn't sure what style I wanted or where to start. Emily was sensational in helping me visualise the setup, style and colour scheme of the dining area and kitchen. We had continuous meetings and she was always available to discuss ideas via phone and email. I couldn't be any happier with result.
