He brings out the best in an existing home by seamlessly blending new architecture without compromising the original style of the home. His outstanding work becomes eye-catchingly beautiful, but still blends into the natural landscape. Eric designed 2 different projects for us; a mudroom addition & kitchen remodel as well as a master bedroom/bath over our garage. He presented several different options knowing how important it was to us that the end result blended well with the house. We loved that he was able to generate 3D models so we could get a sense of the space before committing to the final design. Eric really listened to what we wanted and made many suggestions which we thankfully incorporated into both projects. We've gotten so many compliments on the parts of our house that he designed and love the way everything turned out. We always recommend Eric when friends mention a remodel or new construction - he's really the best!

Eric is the consummate professional. He gave us some great insights on a project knowing that we might not be able to do the project right away. He has a calm and knowledgeable demeanor and puts you at ease right away. We’ve seen a great deal of his work on other projects and we’ve always been amazed by his keen eye for design.

My husband and I have been working with Eric for a year and a half now. We consulted with him after buying our home in Beverly Farms, which was built in 1900. We loved the character of the home, but really wanted to modernize and expand it a bit, but with keeping some of the period details (pocket doors, coffered ceiling, etc) in tact. Eric came up with an amazing vision - beyond what we could have ever imagined for it - incorporating design details that fit with other original elements of our home. We’ve completed our first phase of renovations within the existing structure and are hashing out our second phase now with Eric, which hopefully will include a mudroom/garage addition. I would highly recommend Eric (already have actually) to anyone looking for an experienced architect with an extraordinary vision.

He kept clear lines of communication throughout the project and he came up with a much more functional layout for our new kitchen than it was previously situated. Eric is absolutely amazing to work with! We are busy professionals with a young active family, hence working with someone who can tailor their design to our family's lifestyle was very important to us. We met Eric after another architect told us that our design ideas could not be accommodated in our space. We were in search of an architect to help design an addition on to our house that would work as an area for my elderly mother as she was recently widowed and does not want to be alone. This space is not for her to live 100% but space for her to have at our home while she visits and down the line when the time comes she will be able to live there. We are a family of five , with three teenage/college age children, we wanted the space to be separate but yet close enough for her to feel she was part of the family, space that would combine our active life with her not so active life with out either feeling bothered. Eric was extremely professional , patient and came up with a plan that we are extremely happy with . We are in the process of having the addition built at this time as it is not complete but are excited for the end product. Eric Gjerde designed a mudroom addition/kitchen remodel(phase 1) and a larger 3 story addition which included a master bedroom on top floor and a large family room on the first floor(phase 2). Eric was very easy to work with right from the beginning. He was very insightful and gave us many great ideas and designs to choose from. After we chose the direction we wanted to go in, the design took shape very quickly and Eric even generated some 3D models so my wife could "see" and "walkthrough" our new space. The final plans were very detailed and gave the contractors an even field to bid from. Eric was always available to answer questions from the general contractor, building department or sub-contractors and the build went great. We love our new space and cannot remember how our house was before the construction. People always comment on how great our house looks outside and in. We have recommended Eric to many of our friends and they are just as satisfied as we are.
