My husband and I cannot say enough positive things about Tim and his crews through Fig Tree Construction! They have completed three home construction projects for us, and we could not be happier with the outcomes! The first job included taking out windows on a wall facing our backyard patio and replacing them with beautiful French doors. The quality of the job was fantastic, and a concern regarding meeting the engineering needs of a load-bearing wall was met with expertise. Other contractors during the bidding process said things like, "Oh, that's not a problem. We can deal with that!", whereas, Tim outlined exactly how the issue needed to be resolved to ensure we would get a lasting product that wouldn't have to be 'fixed' later. The design of the doors, themselves, opening to the patio was like gaining another living area to our home!
We were so pleased with Fig Tree Construction that we did not hesitate to call Tim when it came time to remodel our kitchen. Again, high-quality work was completed by professionals within every aspect of gutting a kitchen and starting from scratch. Each crew member was respectful of our home, our time and our ideas! Because of this, we have a completely unique kitchen that segued into our third project with Tim, refacing our fireplace. Along with the major kitchen remodel came fresh ideas for smaller additions in the den to coordinate with the stacked stone on the fireplace. It's like we now have a custom home, but not at the cost of a custom budget!
If you are looking for a contractor who is fully engaged in your project by paying attention to even the smallest detail, is available when you have questions or concerns, and provides outstanding work with which you can be sure will last and will provide you with the look and function you want, give Tim Feaster and Fig Tree Construction a try! You will not be disappointed!

Great GC for my kitchen remodel. Estimate was detailed and Tim was able to work within our budget. His management on the job and arranging high quality subcontractors was exactly what our family needed. Tim is very good at communicating before, during, and after the project. He has great ideas and is very experienced in what he does. I would highly recommend Fig Tree and will definitely be using them again for future projects.

Tim Feaster is professional and responsive to customer needs. He brought ideas to our renovation we did not think of that we incorporated into the design. We have hired Fig Tree Construction for 2 different projects.

Fig Tree Construction did a complete kitchen renovation along with removing a wall. The kitchen turned out beautiful and I'm still 100% pleased with it. Tim has a creative eye and great attention to detail. He has the highest integrity and unlike most contractors, he is still available once the project is complete and paid for. He made sure we were 100% pleased and we were! I highly recommend him for any construction project - you will not be disappointed!

We used Fig Tree to construct a pool and deck at our home in Galveston. When we called Tim he listened carefully to our wish list, and asked many questions. He explained to us that although he had been in the construction business for more than 20 years this would be his first pool. He told us how he had been researching and developing a relationship for over a year with the best subcontractors in the Houston area. Since we had previously had a pool built in Georgia we decided to give him a chance.
He painstakingly developed our plans according to our wishes, and was able to exceed our expectations. We had many conversations until he was satisfied that we were happy with design and price.
Demolition of our old deck and construction of our new deck went very well, we especially love the fact that he was able to give us a 16 x 32 foot span of unobstructed space under the deck using a glulam beam (very large laminated beam). We also love the stainless steel cable railing on the front of the deck which enhances the view.
Having a pool installed is a huge job, It’s success depends on quality subcontractors. Without a doubt Tim used excellent subcontractors to ensure success. We could not be happier with the results. Rarely was it evident that this was Tim’s first pool. On those occasions where he didn’t have an answer, he didn’t stop until he found an answer.
Tim did a great job communicating with us. Anytime we called him, he would answer, or get back to us very quickly. Tim conducted himself always with utmost integrity, which many times is not the case when dealing with construction/contractors. We feel like he treated us as well as he would have treated his own family. Our only frustration with the entire process was the length of time it took. This was due to very uncooperative weather conditions, not error on Tim’s part.
Our back yard was transformed from an uninspired plot of land to a beautiful island oasis!

Through out the entire project Fig Tree Construction supervisor Tim Feaster was very open about the process and the progress. The job was completed on time and under budget even though there were upgrades to the project. Some changes were made that allowed for the upgrades and Tim discussed them with me. I was very pleased with his crews they showed up and were very efficient. The job site was always kept very neat. I would recommend Fig Tree Construction to anyone.

Tim with Fig Tree Construction did a great job on our outdoor patio and kitchen. He gave several great idea before and during the project. He did not cut corners but instead used engineered beams, premium cedar, and hand carved stained concrete floor. He constructed with care as if for his own family. He has built us a place to make a life time of memories with family and friends.

Commentaire de Fig Tree Construction :
Mr. and Mrs. Lopez were a pleasure to work with. We created an incredible place for their family and friends to enjoy in nearly any weather conditions. We added a cabana bathroom and the outdoor kitchen. There is almost no need to go inside!! I love how the hand carved concrete finished as well. Not seen is a rain chain that drains into a large pot and the pot sits above an area drain that carries the run off out to the street. Great folks to work with! I am looking forward to their next project.

We had a leak in the master bathroom that caused minimal, gross damage. Fig Tree came in after several contractors would not/did not and repaired our dame as well as updating the bathroom. My husband and I would totally recommend Fig Tree and their workers.

Commentaire de Fig Tree Construction :
Wendy and Dwayne had a small insurance job and it seemed no one wanted to help them get their master bathroom working again. We not only fixed the bathroom but we installed new furniture vanities, updated the hydro-tub surround with new tile and removed all the cultured marble. The bathroom now looks updated and spectacular. What a wonderful couple!
Fig tree construction are who you need to call if you are looking for a disaster to happen and transform your home into a nightmare! Seriously the most unprofessional people. Their quality of work is beyond poor. The results are just terrible poor in quality and the cost very high not only in $$$ but in frustration as well,
Don't hire them and please don't trust your home to this guy.
He left my entire first floor covered under a thick (very thick) layer of oil base paint and he never thought for a moment that that was a serious matter.
The actual work on the walls texture and paint it was done twice and still with very poor results. Overcharged and refused to offer details of the bill. I had a budget of about $2625 for a total of 39sf counter tops granite and he was charging me $40sf I ended up with a bill of $3225 for 39 SF of granite level one! His answer? He might have had a loss somewhere else so he deserves a markup else where!
His organization skills leading a project and also keeping the homeowner informed don't exist. His expectations are low and so are the results of his workers.
I am actually hiring someone to restore my home from the damages done to my home!

Commentaire de Fig Tree Construction :
It is impossible to make everyone happy all the time. I wish this review wasn't here but it is and no one is perfect. Yes, we made some mistakes on this job but we did not leave until we had fixed what we were hired to do. This job was an insurance restoration project (due to a sewer back up in the neighboring townhome) that Fig Tree negotiated with the insurance. The project did not begin until all the parties had agreed on what was to be done and for what cost.
Yes, we did get paint over-spray on the concrete floor. This happens on nearly every job unless the owner plans to leave the bare concrete exposed or they will be staining the concrete. This project was to have tile and wood floors throughout our work areas, therefore the floor was not protected from paint over-spray.
The texture on the walls was done twice. It was done twice because I was not happy with the first job. My painter struggled with the texture because there were at least three different types of texture on the walls in one room and we were hired to fix only the bottom 24" of the wall, the rest was to remain as is. To make it match we textured the walls 5'-6' high, rather than the agreed upon 2' at no extra charge. I also hired a different drywall and paint crew to complete work that I was not happy with and I paid $1,800.00 extra to that crew to finish without charging the owner a dime for that work.
The $600.00 up-charge mentioned in the clients review is on the invoice and clearly states that it is for a custom built 36 inch vanity with a granite counter top and a Kohler-2210 under mount sink. We also painted it for that price. That $600.00 was charged because the original plan was to install a pedestal sink. The $600.00 was not for granite alone.
Prior to the insurance work beginning I told the owner, and I tell all my insurance restoration clients this, that an insurance project is the sum of all the parts. I will not break it up into pieces as some parts cost more than insurance pays but others cost considerably less and the job as a whole makes it possible to be an insurance contractor. This does involve the granite but was about the entire project prior to commencement and not halfway through the project.
We inform all of our clients that it takes approximately five weeks to complete a kitchen renovation project. This project (my portion) was completed within that time frame. Even with some mistakes, we managed to have cabinets built and installed within two weeks of starting the project. We also built upper cabinet doors to replace the existing for matching purposes at no extra charge.
Beginning April 10, 2013 and ending June 13, 2013, we exchanged 161 emails and there were numerous texts and phone calls as well. We do our best as a company to make sure each client is informed of all the details and updated on progress. That is the reason for so many emails, texts and calls.
If you have interest in hiring Fig Tree Construction but this review causes you some concern please contact us and I can send any documentation to back the information I have given in this response less phone calls and texts, as I have replaced my cell phone since this project. I will also not share the clients personal information and it will be blacked out.
In short, I certainly wish every client would love us and brag on us after we walk out the door for the last time. I also recognize that if you manage that 99 out of 100 times there will always be that 1 you could not make happy. This is my 1.
