Foundation Landscape Design

At Foundation Landscape Design, we are dedicated to high quality and creative design. We hope for our projects to perpetuate the vital relationships between people and their environments through the integration of interior and exterior design. Principal, Vanessa Rutter, received her landscape architecture degree at Penn State University and was awarded the prestigious American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA) award of honor for her studies. Before establishing Foundation Landscape Design in 2002, Vanessa worked as a designer at top Environmental Consulting, Landscape Architecture and Urban Design firms in Pennsylvania, Alaska and Sacramento and Los Angeles, California. Vanessa is a certified Permaculture designer and has studied design and sustainability around the world. Foundation Landscape Design has worked on a range of project scales and types. Our residential designs range from small urban gardens to large scale estates. Our commercial work has ranged from wineries and hotels to restaurants. Every project is approached with a whole-systems eye and dedication to local and sustainable sources.
