Chris and the HAUS team are the best. From our intro phone call and first meeting at the site through the various stages of the design process, we were confident that this was more than just a job for Chris; he cared about getting our future home right. He welcomed our preference to be very involved in the design process (even patiently tolerating our insistence on many iterations of various exterior and interior ideas). He had great thoughts on how to use and maximize space. And the team did a good job of accommodating our specific ideas with the overall look of the project and ensuring consistency throughout. HAUS also worked very hard to manage our budget expectations and to find ways to cut costs where possible. We are working now with the building side of HAUS (WERK), with an expected final completion in a few months. We have already referred HAUS and WERK to friends who are in the early stages of designing a house with them. If you are looking for an architect who will take your project seriously but not take himself too seriously, Chris is the guy. Can't recommend him highly enough.

Haus Architectural firm in Indianapolis led me step by step through the design process involving the renovation of a significant portion of the first floor of my 84-year old home in the Broad Ripple neighborhood,. We continued to work together through Werk Bild. I was told repeatedly that they wanted me to love the outcome - and I do. I have a totally new, beautiful, and functional kitchen with the addition of a full bath. But beyond that was the guidance given me to achieve a harmonious whole on the entire first floor. The staff of Haus and Werk Bild are professionals with heart. An outstanding experience.

We worked with HAUS on a major remodel of a house build in the early 1960's. We were impressed with the meticulous approach, including a study on the architectural history of the house, and the creative process resulting in an optimal design. We were very much part of this exciting and interactive process, and our wishes and suggestions were carefully incorporated in the final design. Also of great importance was the close collaboration between HAUS and our contractor. HAUS made sure that the original design came to life by working very intensely with our builder. The remodel was very successful, we couldn't have asked for more!

We worked with HAUS on the design of our new home. We started the design process from a distance, as we were living in California at the time. But the whole design process was very smooth. Chris Short and his team listened carefully to what we wanted from our home, and they developed a design that perfectly met our needs. They also followed through the build process, to make sure the design intent was captured in the final product. We have been in our new home for about 1 year now. And are very happy with the results. Chris and the guys at Haus redesigned a severely neglected home I bought to Airbnb and occupy. The home had a very antiquated floorplan and was in need of a full remodel to achieve my design goals. The guys at Haus sketched several iterations of the future layout and design in order to achieve a final design plan that exceeded my expectations. I couldn't be happier with my experience working together! When quality and design are of the utmost importance to you, I can't imagine anyone better. My only regret was not hiring them to complete the remodel as well!

We learnt about HAUS on Houzz.com and approached them to design our home. We found Chris and his team to be a group of very passionate and knowledgeable people. Chris was extremely patient in understanding our idea of home. He spent time with my husband and I, to understand our design expectations, sense of style and our core needs in a home. Through out the process Chris had a patient ear to all our wants, while making some very important and practical suggestions that made our home better than expected and allowed the project to be within budget. They are very thorough and show great attention to detail. We found them to be very professional and pleasant to work with. Chris manages to produce work with high design integrity, while making it practical and effortless. The design HAUS provided us, was very thoughtful, practical and exactly what we wanted. Having worked with them closely, I can say that HAUS provides high quality work that is original and absolutely unique. If we had to do this all over again, we would go with HAUS.

Haus was able to take our vision and quickly, and competently, turn it into our dream home. Their expertise in designing modern space and architecture took what we thought was possible (based on our limited knowledge of browsing Dwell mag), to what we could not imagine--within our budget. Others agree with our assessment as we were featured in the 2017 Indianapolis Architectural Tour; we were an Editor's Pick in Dwell Magazine; and we will be one of two homes featured in Indianapolis Monthly's home edition 2018. We did end up changing some things last minute, and it was significant to me that Haus did not express frustration with something potentially very frustrating! Thank you, Haus!

Working with Haus Arch on our modern dream house in Indian Head Park IL was extremely enjoyable. Chris and his team are a very talented architects. Patient and super meticulous in capturing our requirements. Guys were very responsive and have remained plugged-in during the process offering helpful advice along the way. Despite 200 miles distance Chris visited the construction site many times. We are very very happy with how design turned out. THANK YOU!

Haus and Chris are delightful to work with. He creates independently yet listens intensely to our ideas and synthesizes something very new. If you let him create, he will design not just structures, but structures with themes-concepts - new expressions of not only the owners lifestyle but the environment in which the house sits. He is very gifted and creative, yet practical and very transparent with excellent communication and a great team player!

Extremely professional, insightful, and creative. Chris was great at making suggestions for designs that we hadn't even considered, soliciting feedback, and incorporating our preferences into his designs. He made us feel like part of his team although we never felt burdened with work. He would even research the pros and cons of the newest technology to make sure we would be happy with the final design!

Light and shadows, symmetry and angles, harmony of design and materials. Having a professional design/plan from Chris makes all the difference in the world compared to a generic contractor remodel.
