Bill and his team took on my home remodeling after a tree fell on my house last summer. Lots of challenges and unexpected issues, but Bill handled them all professionally and quickly. Very satisfied with the work done and particularly impressed by Bill's professionalism, honesty and commitment to doing the job right. I highly recommend Hayes Construction and would be happy to use them again.

Hayes construction is run by a work class contractor, Bill. We met Bill through a friend that had an incredible experience. Some of the reasons why he was recommended included his high quality construction, no-bs mentality around timing and costs, relentlessness in pursuit of making the home-owner happy, and his fixation on doing things right. After working with Bill now for about 6 months, I can happily say that he and his company, Hayes Construction, are world class. Bill and his team totally transformed our house into a dream home. We have a 1910 era 4-bedroom 2800 sq. ft. house that was redone in the late 1990s. There were a lot of issues - from previous home owner decisions that were straight odd, to serious plumbing, electrical and outdoor work. Garage had black mold, yard had wasp and rat infestations, floors had water damage, walls were all different colors, and water/heat was touch and go. Bill did it all with a level of care that would make you think he was renovating his own place. There's a lot that I could say about how great the experience was, but what impressed me most was his depth of experience. To highlight this, I can share some examples. Bill had an entire 900 foot moldy garage completed demo'd. At the same time, he built custom framing for the front entrance, installed high quality windows, and re-did dozens of electrical fixtures to install new lights, fans, dimmers and high tech cameras. He also did a world class job on bread and butter work like new plumbing, sanding and refinishing floors, and painting the house top to bottom. Bill's team that supported him almost became family to us over the time they worked at our house. They were always polite, timely, efficient and - of course most important - did some of the best craftsman work that you can find. Bill is an extraordinary contractor and has created a company that I would recommend to anyone looking to build or renovate their home. I cannot recommend him enough.

Our architect recommended Hayes Construction Corporation for our renovation and addition project. Though we spoke with representatives from other companies, choosing Hayes Construction for our project was the best decision that we made throughout the entire process. Simply put, we could not imagine going through a significant renovation like ours without Bill and his crew. It was clear immediately that we had selected a team of craftspeople that had worked together many times in the past. They respected one another and our schedules and resources. They were attentive to detail, appreciative of our vision for our home, and worked within our budget. Even when we said the words every contractor must dread--"while we're at it..."--Bill changed direction and ensured that our changes were incorporated into the final design for our home. We found that Hayes Construction worked professionally with city inspectors and permitting offices, but, as significantly, were equally respectful of our neighbors. Several of them remarked how the team consistently arrived on time, tidied the property before they left, and respected noise restrictions. Bill Hayes personally budgeted each phase of our construction project. Billing statements were presented when we were told to expect them, and they were always clear and accurate. When we used a company for our basement flooring with which we'd worked previously, Hayes Construction's billing department adjusted our account immediately. Literally, after the dust settled, we were left with a beautiful, carefully renovated home. Our renovation is everything that we hoped for, but our relationship with Bill Hayes and his construction team far exceeded our expectations. We recommend Bill Hayes Construction Corporation with no hesitations and will always be grateful to Bill and his entire team.

The Hayes group (Bill and the subcontractors) were very easy to work with and accommodating to our ideas and changes.. They offered ideas when we were not sure how to do something, they made on the spot adjustments to the design if needed, and they worked with us when we wanted to provide our own materials or contactors (we provided our own excavator and concrete ppl). Their subcontractors were very accommodating and very professional and skilled.Their trim team (David and Chad) were great to work with. They were able to come up with solutions for mounting items, adjusting cabinetry, building nooks and benches, and finishing (hiding) any imperfections in design. We had a 3 month delay because of the flooring materials we selected. The house would have been done in 9 mos. We stayed within budget and it was definitely worth the money.

Hayes Construction did a very good job in tackling a very complex project that required coordination with many trades people, a complex structure based upon rafters and ceiling height and newer technologies like solar power and geothermal. They acted very professionally. Hayes Construction had no problems allowing us to use our own contractors for some portions of the build and coordinated with them in the early stages. When working with any builder, be sure to outline the allowances in specific detail - and if possible, be prepared with your own list of specifics (faucets, flooring, tile, countertop, type of roof, type of siding, number of outlets, etc.) to make the financial estimate as accurate as possible. We went over on some allowances and were under in others but the process could have been simpler had we been better prepared. And, be sure to order the flooring as early as possible - in case the vendor sends the wrong one. The end product is excellent and quite honestly, that is the only thing that really matters. I could have given them a Great Job vs Excellent Job -- they were somewhere in the middle but I believe that with Hayes Construction, you will get quality work and an honest company with whom to deal.

We are completely thrilled with our 3 story, 1000 sf renovation done by Hayes Construction in Arlington, Va. They were great to work with, their work is high quality, and they finished on time. I'd recommend this company to anyone with new build or renovating.

Hayes did an excellent job on this 4,000 square foot spec house. Bill and his team were a pleasure to work with on the project. Very direct and straight forward approach. High quality work, timely execution, flexible on process, and reasonable/competitive on price. The house had 4 bedrooms, en suite bathrooms, basement, large kitchen, porch, deck, fireplace and detached garage. All parts represented. I can't say enough about Hayes and would hire Bill tomorrow for my next project.

Bill Hayes is the most professional and experienced contractor that we have ever met or worked with. He is easy to work with, he does not cut corners, he knows his business, and he employs only the best and knowledgeable sub-contractors. No job was too small or too large for him. No task comes without problems, but those problems allow you to see whether you are dealing with a reputable contractor or not. We never had any issues with Bill Hayes or his staff. The home he built us won a National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI) Award. The same home sold for over a million dollars !!! Hayes Construction built a three story addition for our house. The team was very easy to work with, stayed within the budget, and finished on time. My husband and I are very happy with the results.

My husband and I contracted with Hayes Construction Corporation (HCC), based in Fort Valley, VA, for a whole house renovation in 2015. We selected HCC based on several factors: conversations with owner Bill Hayes & Architect Rebecca Bostick; observing HCC's work process & excellent, on-time renovations in our immediate neighborhood; Bill's willingness to work within our budget; and finally, his reputation for honesty & integrity. This review is really long overdue; every day, we are grateful that we went through with this renovation with HCC. We really enjoy the improved layout that made more efficient use of our existing space, and the small addition that enlarged our kitchen & master bedroom, provided 2 fully re-designed baths, 2 small walk-in-closets, and a perfect screened porch. Our house is a 1904 bungalow. The renovation maintained the charming character of our vintage home, but also modernized it in way that will be appreciated for decades to come. We enjoyed working with Bill Hayes, his very competent Project Manager Mike Cave & other staff and sub-contractors who contributed to this effort. The project was at times stressfull because Bill's commitment to staying on schedule required us to make rapid decisions on plumbing fixtures, tiles, cabinets, lighting fixtures, etc. In retrospect, I wish I had made more design decisions before we started, but ultimately everything turned out well. I admire HCC's ability to keep on schedule, as that appears to be a rarity ---some neighbors who started renovations at the same time as ours, in mid-2015, have yet to complete them more than 2 years later. Our renovation took exactly 6 months. Because of our pets, we moved out of our house during the renovation. When unanticipated problems came to light during the renovation, as will happen with a very old house, Bill Hayes and his crew quickly came up with reasonable solutions. When extra costs were involved, he was fair & considerate of our budget constraints. HCC's Project Manager, Mike Cave, demonstrated extraordinary management & carpentry skills. His crew was there every single day, without fail, until the job was done. When a few problems arose in the months after the renovation was completed, Bill got on top of them immediately, and took responsibility when it was warranted. As I have heard from many in our neighborhood, a construction company with such on-time performance, competence and integrity is rare. I highly recommend the Hayes Construction Corporation without reservation.
