With over three decades of experience in the field, Bob Helms has both formal and informal experience in electrical work. Bob Helms worked as a commercial electrician from 1983 to 1996, with a year of that as an industrial electrician. In 1992, while working full-time as a commercial electrician, he passed the Master Electrician Exam and opened a part time electrical contracting business, Helms Electric. Most of his part time work was residential work. In July of 1996, he left the commercial contractor he was working for and began working for himself full time. Despite working on a variety of projects in the commercial sector, Bob Helms decided that the more face to face approach of residential work was made for him. Helms Electric is based on delivering personal help to individual homeowners. Part of the secret to our success that has served us and Harford County for over two decades is the fact that we are a completely self contained operation. Our truck is fully stocked with residential materials and has all the necessary tools to complete a job. We diligently clean up after the job is complete and we believe in maintaining a direct line with our customers.
