We had commissioned Brad & Hope many years ago to build us some bookcases some years ago, and were delighted with them. So when it came time to choose a cabinet maker for our new kitchen cabinets when we did a major renovation of our circa-1880 Queen Anne house, we went back to Salmon Falls Woodworks. Brad and Hope were true collaborators in the design of our new kitchen (from major architectural design decisions, through the details of cabinet construction and hardware, down to the details of the mouldings) -- as a result, we now have the kitchen of our dreams!

Blending the features of a mid-1700s era farmhouse with a 21st century kitchen was indeed a challenging task. Hope Murphy and Brad Christo of Salmon Falls Woodworks have a deep interest and feeling for historic buildings and worked very closely with us in both the design and build phases and the end result is fantastic. The challenges were numerous (structural and design) and they addressed them in minute detail without sacrificing the historical charm of home. They made excellent use of the space with cabinets of period design with cleaver, modern accessories providing excellent function. We are delighted with the result and are proud to show it off to our friends.

Salmon Falls built custom bookshelves for us and has done all kinds of work around our 19th century farmhouse. The work is beautiful and well built--to last a lifetime. For more than two years commencing in August 2002 I worked with Hope and Brad of Salmon Falls Woodworks to restore and renovate a large c1725 house my husband and I purchased in 2001. We lived in the house throughout the project, and what could have been fraught with tension and difficulty was a wonderful adventure. There is not a room in the house that they did not touch with their skill and care. The kitchen and laundry area presented a major design and construction challenge, but Brad and Hope transformed a warren of small dark rooms into a beautiful, sunny space that functions perfectly for two active cooks. While remaining true to the spirit and aesthetic of the house this space now has 21st century efficiency and satisfies our modern desire to connect the interior with the garden and landscape beyond.
