WOW! We are so pleased with the difference in our pool deck/yard area and the front of our home due to the work of Houston Lightscapes. We weren't sure we "needed" the extra lights but we had heard from two other neighbors to call Houston Lightscapes and just get their feedback and professional advice and that the company was honest and wouldn't upsell us. We are so glad we did. We called and the owner made an appointment and came out on time. He gave us advice about safety around our pool and the deep step off we had, to do certain lights within the budget we had, showed us how a few lights in the front would really highlight the facade of the house and came back quickly with a quote that was in our budget, fair and reasonable. On install day, the owner and his crew were on time, clean and honest. We are enjoying looking at our backyard lit up in the newly accented places and we are so happy we made that call! Do not hesitate if you are thinking about calling Houston Lightscapes!

We have had a very bad experience with Houston Lightscapes. The crew they sent on the day of installation didn't have specific directions regarding what to do and aggressively took shovels to my driveway to rip out a wooden expansion joint, causing irreparable harm to the driveway on both sides of the expansion joint. It looks terrible. The owner's son initially said the right thing in saying they'll do whatever it takes to fix it but has recently downplayed the damage. The work was done very poorly, and the company has not been professional in addressing the damage. Additionally, I have seen commentary from the owner’s son that they always allow the customer to review and see the work prior to seeking final payment. This is not true at all. I specifically requested to see the work before he ran my credit card, and he said that they way they do business is to be paid upon completion even if sight unseen. Be very careful with this company. We hired them because they had great reviews and presented themselves as professional. What has resulted is extensive damage to our property, a bad light job, and several hours/days of my time dealing with this. They have never even said they’re sorry for what has happened and have now refused to provide a remedy to the damage the company caused.

Awful experience. They never completed the job and used COVID as a delay tactic. I paid over 20K and have no outstanding balance and can’t get any of the advertised maintenance service nor completion of the project.

This installation took place before COVID began. Since that installation, our company has responded to numerous service calls with this client to change lighting, not because anything is wrong, but just because the client would like something different. We also have an outstanding balance which has not been addressed. At this point we cannot continue with free services.

We had new landscape lights installed in front and back yard. House looks great! The company was prompt with a quote, very reasonable in the estimate and we had a short turnaround time to the installation date. We recommend highly.

I needed somebody to fix the mess that a supposed landscape lighting expert created for me a couple of years back. Houston Lightscapes came out right away and not only fixed what needed to be fixed but did some upgrades. Beautiful work at a great price. Highly recommend.

Actually I wish I could give more than five stars. Day one, within one hour after sundown I received a text message from my next door neighbor inquiring about the lights. Michael was awesome, thorough and most or all, very transparent. His dad came out the night of installation and even threw in an additional light on a not so well lit corner without even requesting it. We were more than pleased with the level of customer service received and the attention to detail. Kudos!

Houston Lightscapes is a high priced, poor service, terrible quality company. They prefer to agree on a deal with only a handshake. Meaning there is no contract to back you up when they take your money and deliver poor quality lighting. I agreed for installation on 30 lights at a cost of over $3,000. What I got was 30 bulbs replaced only, no lighting fixtures. Further, 3 of those lights went out in less than 2 months. They have come out over 4 times to address issues unresolved in the initial installation, yet I still haven't received what was agreed on. I can't even get them to agree on a partial refund. Let my mistake be a warning to everyone else.

Per your proposal paperwork, you requested a re-lamp and a re-wire. This does not include new fixtures. We also allow our customers to see their installations before they pay for the final product. I have been a Houston Lightscapes customer for over 5 years with 64 lights in my yard. They have always taken exceptional care of my yard, whether adding new lights, replacing bulbs, or moving lights to accommodate landscape changes. Mike, the owner, is hands on, energetic, very knowledgeable and always accessible. Mickey, his primary office staffer, has been with Mike forever and can handle anything. You only deal with 5 star people and receive 5 star results.

Michael Akerman of Houston Lightscapes was a pleasure to work with. He is very professional, honest and trustworthy. He is a great communicator and truly wants the client to be happy with their lighting. Michael assisted me immensely by showing me how the lights would look, rather than just explaining. He pointed out the pros and cons of each scenario in order to figure out what was best for my home. Michael is very hands-on and makes sure each job is done correctly and to the client's satisfaction. I am very pleased with Houston Lightscapes and would definitely recommend Michael and Houston Lightscapes to others.

Great company and very responsive to its customers. Mike and his team are hard workers. I highly recommend them! I anticipated lighting up the front of my home but when they completed the job, I had them come back 2 weeks later and light up the backyard.
