Just want to express my great satisfaction with Katerina’s design – I never imagined that my place could be transformed in such wonderful way by her wisdom (and some persuasion )! I bought a house which used to be a rental property, so everything, like floor, wall etc. just was very basic and unexpressive at best. House remodels do not always go to plan and mine was an odyssey filled with trials (an unresponsive architect) and tribulations (delayed permits, issues with the health department) but the one constant bright light guiding the project to ultimate success, and helping me keep my sanity, was Katerina, of KB Design. We recently moved into a 20 year-old condo and I wanted a knowledgeable designer to update the kitchen, as well as the dining and great room areas. I found Katerina (KB Design) online and I'm so happy I did. Katerina changed the layout of the kitchen and It's greatly improved. We started with me choosing the finish of the cabinets Katerina recommended and then she took me to commercial sites to choose the countertop, backsplash, flooring, carpeting, lighting and paint. Everything now blends together beautifully. She paid particular attention to every detail during construction and importantly, she also noticed a building design flaw in the dining area concerning the structural beams. Katerina corrected it by adding more beams, and it also now looks amazing. I highly recommend Katerina.

Katerina helped us with a large project remodeling most of our home including the kitchen, family room, master bath and closet, and general updates and painting throughout the home. She also helped with some furniture and curtain selection/design. We are so proud and excited by how it turned out. Katerina is clearly very experienced and is up on the latest trends. She spent extensive time with us designing, listening, and answering emails. She was a strong presence throughout the many months of our project. Katerina definitely goes the extra mile to make sure you are happy with the selections. I believe she can really help any client come up with their own style. We went for a more transitional style blending traditional and modern elements. She helped us tremendously with editing our style to create the right blend. I was really picky about selecting some of my own elements (like the countertop) and she was great about helping with the integration of these items. She definitely will steer you towards top quality items. Things add up fast and we chose to go over budget because we have expensive taste, but Katerina is very mindful of budgeting and provided reminders and helped us to make compromises along the way. As with all large projects, there were mistakes, delays, challenges and difficulties. Our project had more than most. Katerina was always very upfront, responsible, honest, and fair during these times - which we were really grateful for. Nobody wants to be stressed and simultaneously in an argument, I was always impressed with Katerina's integrity. We will continue to work with her as we create the finishing touches on our home.

Katrina came out to our house and provided a great consultation for a project to transform our daughter's bedroom from youth to adult. Katerina completely redesigned our whole kitchen from the studs up. It's amazing how different the room is, and how it flows beautifully into the dining and living room. Last year we had a dilemma. Our kitchen needed an upgrade a big one. We wanted to do a kitchen remodel for a long time but were stuck trying to figure out how to approach the project. We were unsure what parts of the first floor will be affected and where to begin. The friend of ours recommended Katerina, and we scheduled a meeting. Best move ever! She is a communication wisard. I mean there is an accent, but she is so good on working with priorities, and explaining why we shall make, or not to make, certain steps or purchases. Our kitchen turned out fantastic, everything we wanted and more. She made every inch work for us. I have to confess that we priced her design against number of cabinet lines, and her cabinets priced exceptionally well. We ended up purchasing our cabinets from her as well. Will hire again.

We interviewed several Interior Designers for our job. We were absolutely delighted that we decided to hire Katerina. She was a pleasure to work with. We were so fortunate to find Katerina. She designed and orchestrated the renovation and remodel of our kitchen, living room and master bathroom. We found KB Design through a friend, whose house we saw and said "Wow!" to the remodeling that had been done. They highly recommended Katerina Bolshakova, and once we met her and discussed our plans and saw how quickly she 'got us' and our needs, we were hooked. We own a 1970's ranch and wanted to open it up (back in the '70's they seemed to think the more rooms they could cram into a floor plan, the better). She also 'got' that we are fairly budget-conscious, and wanted to create a wonderful home without spending an unlimited budget. My husband and I own a business together and are rather strong-minded individuals, and Katerina had an incredible way of "bridging the gap of ideas" and finding solutions that worked for all. She did all of the design work, and helped us to source components where we needed help. She was always upbeat, thorough, steady, professional, fun, and went beyond what we ever hoped we'd receive from an interior designer. I worked with Katia from KB Design when we remodeled our kitchen. We had an outdated late 80's kitchen and my goal was to get a modern and functional kitchen on a budget. The quality of the cabinets was very important to me, as well as their durability. KB Design was able to provide all of that! My project was challenging since our house is in Illinois. However, Katia made this possible and easy. We did everything over Skype, phone, and photos. She was always available by phone, even for my smallest questions. My dream was to have a kitchen in dark shades, but I never thought this was possible due to the lack of natural light in that part of our house. To my surprise, Katia made this possible as well. On a related note, my husband, who is an engineer, was heavily involved in this project. At times, this project was taxing on our relationship due to disagreements, and I lost my patience a few times. Thankfully, Katia had a lot of patience with both of us and thoroughly explained why certain things needed to be done a certain way, which was tremendously helpful! Overall, I am very satisfied with the outcome and we get many compliments on the final project. The look of the whole house has been transformed because of the new kitchen. Having purchased a 1930's bungalow with a small kitchen, I was pleased with KB Design's help in designing a superb layout for my tight space.
