Kayne was a great help with updating our condo in Brooklyn. We needed paint, closet reconfiguring, lighting, curtains for a huge window, furniture consulting, floor covering, handy work and terrace design. She did it all. We loved her workers and trusted them to be onsite when we weren't there. She was available to search fabrics for the huge window and carpets for our funky stairs and had great resources. She helped with getting new storage ideas for our small place. Invaluable. Would highly recommend.

I thought about a gut renovation of my apartment for many years before it actually happened. A friend of mine who is a contractor is the first person I reached out too, and he told me early on I would need a designer to help with the whole process. "Why do I need a designer? I can do this myself!" is what I told him. But he highly recommended Kayne, so I gave her a call and had the initial meeting. We hit it off and I figured I would try her services, with a reduced package at first. But I quickly realized I would need her for more than I anticipated. Well, almost 18 months later I can't imagine how I would have done it without her! A gut renovation is a huge job. Getting it done in NYC is even more difficult. But Kayne worked with me and the contractor to manage the entire process - everything from submitting our initial drawings to the co-op board, providing 2D and 3D drawings for me to review, and helping me choose all of the many, many fixtures, to managing the whole process and helping through the rough spots - and there were several of those! It is a skillset that I did not realize I needed, and did not want to learn "on the job". Having someone who is familiar with all of the ins and outs was invaluable. To anyone looking to hire a designer, know that many of them, like Kayne, can do it all - drawings, layouts, planning, project management - on top of the design work. It's a resource that saved me countless hours, thousands of dollars, and helped to make a difficult process just a little bit easier. I've been living in my apartment now for several months since we finished, and I can't believe the transformation. It truly feels like home - and I have Kayne to thank for that.

We worked with Kayne on the full renovation of our New York apartment, which was previously inhabited by my Aunt. Kayne worked with us regarding pieces we wanted to keep and what needed to go, along how the space needed to be updated and refreshed for us and our three children. In addition to new furnishings, window treatments, paint colors and flooring, Kayne helped us organize and archive our extensive book collection. She also updated closets to work more with our needs, and gut renovated the kitchen, which was original to the pre-war apartment. While we use the space as a pied-a-terre, we find it homey. Kayne is incredible! She has helped us with many projects (large and small) around the house. She has an incredible since of design, color, layout and all around great taste! She is very organized and detail oriented. Kayne has helped me make my office clutter free. Thank goodness!!! She has picked out paint colors for the interior of my house. The largest project was to redesign an unused room into a music studio/ reading area. All projects big and small have come in on time and on budget. I would highly recommend her!!!

I have worked with Kayne to photograph several of her projects. Not only is she a pleasure to work with but I appreciate and respect the design sensibilities she brings to her work. Simply put, it is a joy to work with her.

I selected Kayne to re-do my apartment after interviewing half a dozen others. Kayne is professional, down to earth and responsive. She did a great job of understanding my needs, concerns and limitations. The proposed design and effort was phased so I could budget for it. During the delivery she worked with the super to get things done while I was traveling for work. I am very pleased with the results and would highly recommend Kayne without reservation.

Upon first contacting Kayne, I had a laundry list of things I wanted to work on throughout my co-op. However, I decided to focus on one area at a time. Initially, Kayne introduced me to an organizer, who helped me with the clutter that was beginning to overrun my home. Then for the entryway, Kayne proposed several different ideas on how to maximize the space, storage, and personality in the tiny area, all while keeping my budget in mind. My concern in working with a designer was that my space wouldn't feel like my own; however, the project was a true collaboration. She took my input to heart, and I expect this is just the beginning of the home projects I'd like to work on with Kayne.

Kayne solved a puzzle of how to make the best use of a home office space for storage, filing and creative space. Her thoughtful attention to my needs and wishes for the space and brilliance at spacial relations helped me turn a blank slate (blank slate full of storage boxes...) into an organized but very "me" space. She really listens, while sharing different ideas with confidence and caring. She is precise, knowledgeable and working with her was a pleasure.

When I first thought of re-doing a small space into a more functional room to be used for several activities, I thought of Kayne Designs. Her work with small spaces convinced me she was the right one for this project. I had one extra bedroom that I needed to serve me as an: 1. office, 2. art studio and 3. extra guest space. At the time, it was filled with office paraphernalla and a trundle bed. To my eyes, this conversion was impossible. Fortunately for me, living on Cape Cod, I was able to work long distance with Kayne by supplying her with room dimensions, digital pictures and my vision. She transformed my room and did so with creative low cost alternatives where we could. I love the look and was able to pick out different designs that she supplied me with. Kayne was able to transform my room, interpret my vision and now I have my perfect room that accommodates all my needs. I'd highly recommend her services. She's a delight to work with.

Kayne Designs designed and managed the hallway renovation for our 32 unit co-op in Brooklyn. The project was on time and on budget! Kayne created design boards and presented them to us. She was patient and always understood that co-op projects require cooperation and getting buy in from shareholders and the management company. The design Kayne created manages to be both modern and clean, while connecting to the brownstone heritage of our historic block. We still get compliments on the lighting that Kayne selected. Real estate agents and new buyers often mention how sharp our hallways are.

I asked Kayne to create a live/work space in my San Francisco home. I have double parlor rooms in my Victorian residence, used for both work activity as well as personal enjoyment, so I wanted to find a way to turn it into a multi-functional space. Kayne helped me figure out how to have a comfortable meeting space (since I have co-workers in the space from time-to-time) as well as having an efficient work area. She then led me through choosing furnishings which were professional as well as comfortable for both the live and work uses of the space. And she's personable. Excellent project and experience across the board.
