Latemore Design

I have known Peter for many years now through both The Brisbane Home Show and The Building Designers Association of Queensland where Peter invited me to share with the building designers how art can improve their spaces. Peter educates the crowds at each biannual Home Show. His view is to simply to explain how the building process works regardless of return or not. Peter has a big heart and a passion for design and education. If you need a building designer you can trust, look no further than Peter Latemore.

Latemore Design were great. They were very easy to work with an had plenty of ideas. They were also always receptive to ours. We had very specific ideas about what we wanted and the crew at Latemore managed to accommodate these in a practical way. We always felt supported throughout the process and meetings were efficient and useful.

We chose to work with Latemore designs after seeing Peter Latemore speak at the Brisbane home show. We connected with the way he spoke about buildings and varying blocks of land. His individual approach to each project he spoke about had us excited. Our brief to Peter and his team was complex. We wanted an environmental, modern design that took in the existing building on the block as well as creating a new extension. The project is not complete yet but I can say we are overjoyed with the new extension. It functions exactly as we dreamed. Peter and his team were inspiring to work with. They combined functionality and environment perfectly. We have seamless transitions between outdoor and indoor spaces. Peter is an excellent communicator and made every effort to include us in the design process. It has been a pleasure working with both him and his fantastic team.

I have worked on two renovations projects with Latemore Design and am very happy with the level of service they provide. Peter and his team have a lot of experience working with Queenslanders and also Historically listed houses. My builder always jokes that Peters drawings are always twice as many pages as he usually deals with - this is because Peter provides a lot of detail in the drawings so that all the questions are answered before construction starts and you do not have to go back and forth clarifying details during the build process. I really enjoy working with Peter and his team and highly recommend them.

We called Peter and his team in to help us design a back patio for our house. The brief was 'we want to feel like we're at a resort' and they delivered! The design and practicality of our back patio turned out better than we could have ever hoped for. Peter and his team kept us informed on the progress of their designs. We thoroughly enjoyed our time working with Peter and his team. Not only are they creative, they are very personable, reliable and responsive. We have no hesitation in recommending Latemore Designs.

Peter Latemore and Annelise Spurgeon were an outstanding team to work with to create a home for our young family of 5. Ticking all the boxes, Annelise and Peter took our grand old lady and renovated her to perfection. There was much to achieve on a tight budget. No longer able to put up with the tight working spaces in the kitchen and laundry, lack of storage and children with little room to spread out and play, we were frustrated by an ageing layout that did not suit contemporary living. Our brief was to find space and flow, for our growing family, keeping the beauty and street appeal of the old girl and introduce her to a modern style of living. We also wanted to take advantage of the elevation and breezes, keeping our economic, natural air conditioning system (there's not an air-con in sight and the only fan is one required under the Code on the patio) and imitating the benefits of double cavity brick throughout the new extension. We wanted a design that would grow with us, thinking ahead to a future second floor when the kids got a bit older. We also had to deal with a steep sloping block, ineffective terracing and poor existing hydraulics. The end result is a magnificent, comfortable home where everyone and everything has a place to come together and a place to hide away from it all. It's a striking mix of old and new that we love to spend every minute in and to host our family and friends as often as possible. And all this well on time and under budget with close communication between all parties and an eye for all the detail. Annelise and Peter work so well together, its clear they hold a high professional respect for each other, each bringing their own wealth of knowledge and experience to the drawing board. They were incredibly easy to work with during the design phase, providing valuable insight whilst giving us plenty of input into the process and listening keenly to all our concerns and ideas. It was also comforting to have them both step through the build right by our side. They have truly given us the home of our dreams and have already recommended them to others to help them build theirs.
