My husband and I have been absolutely thrilled to work with Laurie Demetrio on a year-long project that has recently been completed. Laurie collaborated with an excellent general contractor that she recommended to renovate the greater part of our first floor, including a totally remodeled kitchen and powder room, entry and mudroom updates, wood floor refinishing and improved and varied lighting throughout. Laurie quickly ascertained the general style we prefer and totally individualized our project. She kept our preferences at the core of her vision, but was not afraid to "save us from ourselves" when our ideas were off-track. In addition to choosing beautiful cabinetry, finishes, flooring, seating and accessories for the kitchen, her selection of lighting and wood floor stain made all the difference in enhancing the artwork throughout the first floor. She successfully redesigned our entire living room using a favorite painting as a starting point. Laurie worked with sales reps and tradespeople in selection of seating, rugs, window treatments, and a gorgeous faux fireplace - she was clearly well liked and respected by all of them. Laurie used her deep knowledge of fabrics to transform our great room by reupholstering a cozy chair and adding just the right decorative pillows. She elevated the dining room by choosing two new chairs with lovely fabrics that perfectly complemented existing ones. The powder room is unique and interesting, including stunning wall paper and a photograph she helped us to reframe. We relied on Laurie's professional judgment in countless instances. She works with intelligence and integrity, integrating a refined aesthetic with fun, wit, and often an element of the unexpected. Feeling lucky and grateful to have worked with such a devoted and talented designer, we wouldn't consider working with anyone else on future projects and recommend Laurie Demetrio Interiors without reservation.

I would highly recommend Laurie for any type of project you may have. I have worked with Laurie on a ground up construction project which included selecting all the finishes for the home and then furnishing and decorating every room. Laurie really listened to my vision and I couldn’t be happier with the results. She was able to source some specific requests like a custom made ping pong table that can be used as a dining room table as well. She is highly responsive, detail oriented, and a problem solver, as well as creative and extremely easy to work with. Laurie is a very talented designer. She held my hand during the remodeling process, helping me select everything from flooring to lighting. She easily understood my desired esthetic and provided me selections that were customized to my taste. She provided furniture layouts for rooms and was cognizant of our budget. Laurie Demetrio worked with us on two different projects in the span of 18 months. She helped us with several rooms in our Chicago condominium, including a complete kitchen remodel, new flooring, paint and wallpaper, lighting, furnishings and window treatments throughout. Laurie also helped us design every aspect of a vacation home, including sourcing materials and monitoring and coordinating vendors and deliveries. Each home turned out unique and beautiful. Decorating is not our forte (and we have proven that on more than one occasion), and Laurie listened, advised, and when necessary politely protected us from making mistakes. She always steered us in the right direction. She stayed on budget and pointed out ways to better allocate our spending so that we were able to get everything we wanted. There were so many moving parts to our projects, but she kept everything organized, and running so smoothly. Laurie is an incredibly talented designer, and has impeccable taste and attention to detail. She is a consummate professional, very accessible, a great listener, trustworthy and really cares about making sure you are completely happy with the finished product. Laurie helped us renovate our kitchen and family room, and because we had such a positive experience, months later she helped us update our master bedroom. Laurie recently completed designing and furnishing our three bedroom condo in Chicago. Since we reside in California, the entire project needed to be completed long distance. Laurie was able to understand our desires and our budget, and provided us with options from which to choose. At our request, she hired a contractor to complete a few modifications and oversaw the work. Laurie's taste and style are impeccable. She is professional, organized, efficient, and easy to work with. Amazing talent for style! Laurie was so helpful she took the extra time to understand what both my wife and I were looking for in our home, neither of us are good at interior design but we wanted our house to look warm, hip and modern, which is why we ask LD Interiors for help.
