I have a personal fondness for elegant historical homes, strong architectural details and moldings, and beautiful eighteenth and nineteenth century English and French antiques or reproductions. Throughout the years, I have been retained to design and customize residential spaces, including entire houses, additions, new rooms and basements. My knowledge of interior design and years of experience were particularly useful when I acted as a general contractor during the building of my residence a few years ago. I have also been commissioned to do commercial interiors, including a golf clubhouse. Working alongside architects, I have often made recommendations to modify blueprints (such as moving windows and doorways, resizing rooms, relocating electrical outlets, adding a wall, fireplace or other feature, etc.) to enhance the interior spaces. Making an alteration on paper is significantly less expensive than making the same alternation once construction is underway. I know where to shop for the best in home furnishings, and I can refer you to accomplished and reliable tradesmen and artisans, including plumbers, electricians, carpenters, finish carpenters, faux finishers, etc.
