Modernous

We signed Modernous as the interior designers for the construction of our 4000 sq ft home on Chuckanut mountain in Bellingham just before we broke ground, and we are so glad we did! They were absolutely fundamental to how thrilled we are with the final result. The overarching reason we hired them was that we wanted to achieve a calm, sophisticated, Scandinavian Modern look throughout the house, and we knew that we needed help making sure that we stayed aligned with that vision with all the individual decisions that go into building a house. Sally and Halie did exactly that by narrowing our selection choices, proposing ideas, and gently modifying our ideas to fit the overall look. They even played tie-breaker / referee / marriage counselor a few times when we couldn’t agree, and they did it with humor, grace and diplomacy. The actual scope of the work they did for us was threefold. First, we asked them to design some areas of the house - a shared TV / fireplace wall between two rooms separated by a multi-slide glass door, a bar, and an office storage area. We also asked them to assist us with furniture selection for the main area of the house, and to help us with the decisions that affect the interior aesthetic, such as paint color, flooring, tile, etc. They did all of this beautifully, in a timely and very cost effective manner, and while only needing to visit the actual site one time. We couldn’t recommend them more highly, and would hire them again without hesitation!

Sally's work has always been exceptional with new pieces and furniture all the time to really showcase each listing I have in the best light and showings off the space.

There are several reasons why I always call Modernous first, starting with I love them!! They have an incomparable innate ability to design a space as if they lived there, which is incredible since they don't even have to have been there in person in order to just nail it every time! It's always welcoming and feels like home, but only if home never got cluttered and always looks like company was coming. Quality is evident from the smallest accent piece to the actual beds (no inflatables here!) always pressed linens and the perfectly placed throw, making you feel like someone fascinating was sitting there reading and got up to go grab tea. On time, priced just right, professional at every single step of the way! Without reservation I recommend Modernous!

LOVE LOVE Modernous.....especially for the mid century listings that are so prevalent in NE Seattle. Sally and her team never disappoint with their inventory of cool, hip modern and mid century furnishings. A bit of whimsy is so refreshing! I trust their style and spatial design emphatically!

Modernous provided staging for a home I recently listed. Their eye for staging and specialized look combining classic Mid-centrury pieces with modern furniture fit this home to a "T" and many agents and buyers touring the home commented on how great the staging looked and several asked for their name. When it came time to remove the staging, they were able to move VERY quickly to accommodate a short closing period. When a small problem emerged, they handled it professionally and the third party moving company they had hired was easy to work with to remedy the situation quickly too. Really enjoyed working with them.

We asked Modernous to transform our dark, cramped, uninviting living and dining area into a space we could use. Modernous FAR exceeded our expectations by designing a space that breathes LIFE into the center of our home! Modernous took into consideration our allergy issues when choosing furniture and always provided many options to select from. The guidance provided was so thoughtful - we feel as though everything in the room is uniquely ours even though we could have never in a million years put this space together on our own! We couldn't be happier with the work- we now spend ALL of our free time in our new space! Thank you Modernous!!!

Sally (Modernous) worked with me to help redesign and redecorate my loft space in the Pioneer Square neighborhood of Seattle, WA.
