Very satisfied with the Moose Basement's final product and professionalism. We did a lot of research before selecting a company to help us with the completion of our legal basement and decided to go with Moose Basement as they were fairly priced but also had professional operations. Throughout the process we were really pleased with Shehzad who was the project manager, he kept us informed at all times and would frequently ask us for our opinion on key decisions as the project moved forward. There were a lot of subcontractors to manage and he did a great job moving the project along. Alex was also very professional. The sales team did leave something to be desired, but we are overall really satisfied with our experience. We would definitely use Moose Basement or recommend them if we had other projects going on.

We had a great experience with Moose Basements and would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for renovations. This was our first renovation and we chose Moose Basements on a Google search. There was a lot of hesitation choosing a company none of our friends had used before. We are so happy we did! We met Steve then Yuri first. They were both friendly and knowledgeable. Yuri was patient with us as we adjusted the drawings. Once everything was finalized, the team started the renos and were finished everything in 9 weeks. Impressive! We had heard many stories from friends who had had renovations done by other companies and the company never came back to complete the last few things. Moose ensured that they came back to look at anything that needed to be done within a week. This was impressive. The owner Mark was also great to deal with. When we had any concerns, he ensured that they were dealt with in a timely manner. Renovations are never easy. The house owner and contractor need to communicate often and clearly and the home owner needs to make the time to check the work every few days. There were a few times that something wasn’t being done as we wanted. Moose was able to make the changes. We were also impressed that the drywaller and painter fixed every imperfection. The washroom tiler was highly skilled and made the accent wall and large nook blend seamlessly. The workmanship was amazing!. We love our basement renos and would confidently recommend Moose Basements!

We hired Moose basements to finish our unfinished basement. We were looking for a reliable contractor who can do quality work. The quote that we received from Moose was higher than other “contractors” and lower than other “renovation companies”. We decided to go ahead with them based on the references and portfolio presented by them. They managed to complete the project in the amount originally quoted and did not change the project cost mid-way. We are also very satisfied with the craftsmanship and the materials used. The design services offered were amazing and the designer (Sang) worked with us to provide us with best possible options in our budget. They took the time to confirm availability of selected materials before proceeding with the project, so there were no surprises. Everything was delivered and installed as promised and was of high quality. One of the improvement areas is that they can improve upon their communication on timelines. The project did take a little bit longer than original estimated timelines and project milestone dates were missed on a couple of occasions. They estimated 8 weeks of work, but the project took around 11 weeks (excluding the holiday time period). But overall project management was good, and they assigned a project manager (Leo) who would respond on status. The team members who worked on our project were all friendly and courteous. They kept the main floor neat and were careful about not disturbing as I work from home, and fully respected our privacy. They have provided excellent post completion service as well and minor issues that arose after the project completion were quickly addressed and resolved. Overall, it was a good experience and we felt we got value for our money, and I would be happy to use Moose Basements for future projects.

We hired Moose Basements to complete a renovation of our basement last summer. They were completely professional from the start. The cost was inline with their estimation, the sales process was low pressure, and throughout the work any surprises or extras were identified in advance and discussed in a professional manner. Extra costs that came up were quoted and priced as “not to exceed” or at a flat rate that I agreed to. Moose Group picked up where an earlier Reno left off, and used all the existing framing, electrical, and rough plumbing. They also worked with us to get the permit closed at the end, which required some additional effort. Moose provided excellent advice to get everything done, inspected, and closed successfully. The early phases included interior design and fixture selection for the bathroom, paint colours, etc. Moose Group created drawings and 3D views to help visualise the finished product. The bathroom designs turned out just as they were on paper. Once work started, all the trades used were excellent (except one… more on that below). Our assigned contractor and PM clearly have experience with many renovations and deal with trades regularly. Moose works with excellent trades, and we had very positive experiences with their drywallers, framers, electricians, tapers, plumbers and painters. Constant consultation with us continued throughout, from how to handle the spacing of railing posts, to closet requirements, to finishing of trim. We had one minor challenge with the subcontracted railing installers. They worked quickly but required substantial oversight to get to the level of quality that Moose expected. They ended up coming back 3 times, and finally the Moose team spent the day monitoring to ensure the final product met everyone’s expectations. Alex’s patience with the contractors was impressive, and he got the results we expected. I would definitely recommend Moose for basement renovation. We have an old Toronto house with a lot of quirks, they were familiar with these situations and worked well to make everything work, align to code, and ensure permits could be closed.

Based on reviews, we hired Moose Basements to do a complete basement renovation, bedroom, bathroom, laundry room, kitchen, family room and fireplace. We were pleased with Moose Group. Our basement apartment required a facelift so my mother could move into our home. We weren’t looking for a budget renovation, we needed a reno that would make my mother feel that she was getting more than a dingy budget basement apartment. Moose Group definitely delivered on that. With their expertise we were able to improve the layout to increase floor space, increase natural light, add laundry, and create a space that was bright and airy. The kitchen and bathroom were finished beautifully, all the finishes go together so well. Needless to say my mother is very pleased. Working with Daniel was a pleasure, his expertise allowed us to learn through the process and gave us confidence with our decisions. Alex and his team were very accommodating to our changes and had good thoughtful suggestions when we approached any kind of complication in the project. The project itself finished on par with their original quote, there were just a few minor additions we added during the project that were reasonably priced. Throughout the entire project Moose Group strived to please and for that we were grateful.

I made decision to start home basement renovation back in November 2019. The begin process was very professional and detailed oriented. After meeting with 4 other contractors we decided to go with Moose Basement. I was presented with a contract and signed off it December that year. I was assigned with a project manager and started our reno January 2020. Everything went well and according to schedule. The project manager and his team far exceeded our expectations. From the start of the project they maintained excellent daily communication, follow up, assist and gave expertise advice and guidance where needed. All my questions where answered and any concerns where addressed in a timely fashion. The quality of work was exceptional. The team arrived on time each day, while the project manager overlooked each stage and promptly addressing changes along the way. Unfortunately, the project was slightly delayed at the end due to the immediate country lockdown of the COVID-19 pandemic. But once the industry was given the go ahead to proceed and complete any ongoing projects the Moose Basement team proceeded to complete the project to code. We were extremely happy and relived. Now 1 year later since the completion of the my basement renovations I was able to reach out to Alex and his team regarding some minor repairs and Alex made sure to have areas of concern addressed in a timely matter and according to the terms of the contract. Choosing Moose Basement was a great choice and we are loving the new extended space in our basement. Moose Basement were professional and truly committed to ensuring a positive client experience. We are very satisfied with the amazing transformation of our basement and would happily use them again and definitely recommend Alexander and his team.

Best experience for construction. Turn key basement with complete remodeling. Highly recommended. They helped me get permits and then built to code.

Reno started after receiving permit in November. Now into March. No one has been on site to complete work and clean up. Been left like this for 3 weeks. See photo below. Poor communication. Price reasonable. I believe their workmanship is not bad but would not recommend. Anyone can advise what I can do at this point?

Moose Basements was very attuned to our design ideas and responded quickly and without complaint to our change requests. They corrected the inevitable issues (this is construction) as they arose and kept us in the loop every step of the way.
