Amazing Eye for Detail! You will not find a better design professional than Murphy Moon! Prior to meeting Murphy Moon, we bought nice furniture but it was always just that, a piece of furniture, and the items didn't contribute to an overall design aesthetic. Murphy Moon helped us turn our things into a beautiful home. She respects our taste, follows our style lead, and saves us time and money throughout the entire design process. Murphy Moon always picks the perfect pieces for our home, with an eye towards detail to make the room complete. We always receive compliments on our home when friends come over. I hate to give our secret away... Working with Murphy is a wonderful and easy process. She takes time to listen and understand our style preferences. She makes suggestions and guides us on design without imposing her style on us. Murphy has an incredible eye for detail and has saved us countless dollars by helping us find the right pieces for our home the first time. We wouldn't dare remodel or redecorate without consulting Murphy Moon first. She is the most knowledgeable and talented design professional we've ever worked with.

I first used Murphy for apartment decorating years ago. She was so fabulous, I reached out to her again after we purchased our first home. I got so many compliments on my apartment's design and get even more with my new home. We started with initial interior decorating - furniture, repainting, things like that. Projects are still in progress - currently, we are remodeling some bathrooms, the kitchen cabinets, and parts of the living area - and when I tell friends we are remodeling, they are shocked: "but your house is gorgeous already!" She knows how to prioritize projects so that no one else notices the little things that bother you (like ugly bathrooms :). I love that Murphy has the eye to pull things together while still keeping the design authentic to the owner. I worked with a designer before Murphy who tried to throw out all my artwork and special pieces because it didn't fit with her vision. There are some pieces in my home I know are not Murphy's favorite but she figures out a way to make them work because she knows I love them. To me, that's a sign of a really great designer. I trust her completely, she has not steered me wrong thus far. In addition to my interior, she helped me pick a new exterior paint color. Eventually, we will do outdoor backyard/patio remodeling - she does it all! I can't recommend her enough.

If you are looking for a designer who has a great eye and is flexible and down-to-earth, Murphy is for you! We had not worked with a designer before and Murphy was simply fantastic. We have continued to keep in touch even after our large project was complete and have engaged her services for other projects as they came up. I cannot recommend her more highly!

Truly an awesome experience - I used Murphy for interior design services. I love that she gets to know YOU and your personality and then refines that style to create lovely and functional spaces. Houzz led me to Murphy Moon. After reading other clients' 5 star reviews, I felt confident that Murphy could get the job done. Initially, I needed help choosing window treatments and updating light fixtures. From the reviews and her website, I could tell that she's talented and ultra capable, but I also needed warm & friendly, mature and evolved. She's all that and more: Murphy is deeply respectful and a skillful communicator, not pushy and funny when that's what's needed. From the first meeting with Murphy, my husband and I immediately liked her and enjoyed tossing around ideas with her. She seems to be one of those people who are actually good at and enjoy collaborating. If you get stuck during a project, she will know intuitively how to respond. We switched from updating our east Austin home to moving to a new home in South Austin soon after hiring Murphy. Her enthusiasm and partnership during that transition made the design process meaningful and exciting. Also, Murphy is very hands on: when I was exhausted from moving, she did all the hanging of the art and photos at my new house and I couldn't be happier with the results. When she recommended having some of our art reframed, she took charge of that project and the improvement of the artwork was stunning. Additionally, she created furniture layouts before the move and collaborated with us in choosing interesting new pieces and rugs. She is always very quick to respond to texts/emails/phone calls, and she's been on time to every appointment and has come over whenever I needed her help asap. I feel deeply grateful for Murphy's generous support and expertise. Plus, she laughed at my husband's jokes and made friends with my mean little dog. We are so happy in our new home but the best part has been getting to know Murphy. I highly recommend Murphy Moon Design!

Murphy Moon is a fantastic interior designer who happens to be strikingly good at couple's counseling. As new owners of a beautiful blank-slate home, my husband and I wanted to start the interior out right by coming up with a solid decorating plan. Unfortunately, with one of us favoring modern minimalism and the other preferring traditional with a touch of whimsy, we didn't get very far on our own. Enter Murphy Moon! From the very start, Murphy helped us to identify styles we both loved and new ways to create a space that's functional, comfortable, cool and lovely. When we were unable to find pieces we both liked or with the ideal measurements, she simply designed them herself and had them made! And the few times we couldn't seem to agree on something, Murphy always had an entirely different idea in her back pocket that was inevitably perfect. My favorite part about working with Murphy is that she approaches the project as a member of the team and inspires you to do the same. She doesn't try to take over or judge you or strong-arm you into anything. She listens to what you want, she helps you identify things you love and she works with you to create a space/a home/a plan that works. It sounds cliche, but she truly made our home a reflection of BOTH of us, only better. Add to that her obsession with detail; fluency in all ten zillion paint colors, wallpapers and fabrics; cheerful disposition; and ability to stick to a budget and I think you'll see why we truly can't recommend Murphy enough. (Not to mention the added benefit of letting her deal with stores/etc. who don't hold up their end of the bargain. She's such a sweetheart, until you cross her or her client. It's AWESOME.) We'd give her ten stars if we could.

Having never used an interior designer I was prepared to be intimidated and thought I would have my design choices made FOR me. I offered my projects to several businesses and chose Murphy. Her bid was specific regarding materials and hourly fees. Right decision!! Murphy provided options for furniture, window treatments, paint colors and costs. Her guidance allowed ME to make the best choices for my new home. Having more projects in mind, I will continue to avail myself of her expertise.

Murphy is a fantastic design professional. She has not only helped me design and decorate my own home, but has also helped several of my Real Estate clients. She is brilliant, creative, a great listener, punctual and extremely professional all around. As a Real Estate professional I have to be very careful about who I recommend and I honestly could not recommend Murphy highly enough.

Murphy Moon was an invaluable part of the design and realization of building our new home. It is a traditional East Coast style 6200 square ft house in Los Angeles. Murphy helped guide me and my architect with design details in the final stages of creating our plans and she continued to advise and problem solve throughout the entire process of construction, revisions, lighting, decorating, etc. Her expertise ranges from the actual design of the building to the more subjective vision of style and cohesiveness of all the elements involved in creating a home from the ground up. When issues came up during construction, it was always Murphy who was able to solve them. Her taste is impeccable and she is very easy and fun to work with. It was so helpful to have her guidance in the areas where I was less confident, but Murphy is Especially good at striking a perfect balance between guiding me to good choices and honoring my sense of style and personal preference. Even when Murphy moved out of state she made herself available constantly via FaceTime and quickly responded to the numerous videos I texted to her for feedback. At the risk of making her sound too good to be true, I have to say she was truly fabulous, fun and brilliant and was by far the best thing about undertaking this huge task! I rarely reccommened people for fear they might not live up to the experience I had, but I would not hesitate to rave about Murphy. Our house is very near completion and I am hoping to have some final pics to post to accompany this review shortly.

We hired Murphy Moon (Abbott Moon) to work on the rebuild of our home. She worked with us on many things from the ground up (floors - cabinetry - faucets - sinks - wall colors - all decorating - furniture - room plans) and this is to just name a few .... Murphy is very knowledgeable in planning, she has an amazing eye for design, she is pleasant and a joy to work with. In addition, the pricing was fair especially for the high quality of work she provided. When we were told something would be done - it was and in a timely manner. We could not have built the beautiful home we now have without her on the team. I would highly recommend her for any project - and I have.

Murphy Moon helped me design this beautiful bathroom I'm now enjoying, even though I live in Indiana and she's an Austinite. We conferred via telephone and e-mail and sent photos and designs back and forth. She talked me out of some very bad ideas, ones that wouldn't fit in to the time period and style of my house - like a Japanese spa-style bathroom. Moon sent me inspiring photos of designs that would work better. When I found the copper tub I'd always longed for, Moon helped me pick tile, wall color, fixtures and vanity to compliment and complement it. She redesigned an old dresser I found at a secondhand store into the sophisticated vanity you see in my new bathroom. The renovation was complicated, as the photos will show: the wall between the small bathroom and the laundry room was removed, the bathroom nearly doubled in size and included the tall elegant window that formerly was hidden next to the dryer. The contractor was easily able to follow Moon's excellent drawings, and the result is pretty magnificent. I think she really enjoys her work, as she was always the most prompt member of the team.

Murphy Moon Design worked to solve several perplexing design problems for my home. Two bathrooms (one large and one smaller) in which previous "upgrades" involved shoddy work and materials were transformed into two lovely, modern, clean, welcoming and elegant spaces. My kitchen had suffered the same fate, complicated even further by an inefficient layout. Murphy Moon revised the footprint to optimize the useful workspace and selected materials and fixtures that realized all of my goals for both form and function. Murphy Moon has a tremendous sense of space, texture and color; wonderful expertise about materials and a willingness to fit her artistry into my budget.
