In a discovery consultation, we will visit your house (or site), analyse the space and the light and discuss design styles and ideas with you. Step 2: Design - We will measure and photograph the spaces, then come back to you with layout ideas, mood boards, furniture and lighting thoughts and so much more! Step 3: Trade Management - Once you’re happy with the schemes we bring on board the right trades for your project. We spec, quote, oversee, chase and snag so that you can enjoy the journey. It’s not an easy journey, it can be messy and disruptive, but we’ve been doing this for over 10 years and we’ll help you through it all. And it will be worth it all, to create your dream home. Sarah spent the time to work out what style and colours would work for us and then put together a plan on what materials, cushions, furniture and lighting would work in each space. Sarah was open to changes when we preferred a different option and was quick and responsive to our queries. Sarah’s then presented us with a playbook of what the house would look like including 3D pictures and really helped us visualise our space. She also was very flexible when there were changes to our building layout and went above and beyond what we had asked of her. We love what Sarah has made our house and the colour it has brought! There are 2 things we think could have been improved: 1. When we had an issue with some furniture from their supplier and was ordered by Sarah, we had to step in to discuss with the supplier and would have preferred Sarah sorting this given it was their relationship. The issue was the supplier got the colour wrong for our bespoke furniture twice and then it arrived slightly damaged. 2. The designer uses their own suppliers. With some of the furniture and lighting I found the same product quite a bit cheaper with a google search. Like I said above though, we do love our new designed house and are so grateful we went through Niki Schaefer.

We enlisted the help of Niki in 2020 when we moved from our traditional Victorian home in London to a more modern over 55’s development at Laureate Gardens in Henley. Our first meeting with Niki was a few days before Lockdown1 and from then on we went “virtual”, which was a scary experience deciding on new furniture, fabrics and paint colours all over the internet. Niki really understood who we were and what we wanted to achieve and she was immensely patient with us. Not only did she help us with selecting great furniture for our new home, she also introduced us to a group of very good tradespeople who have been reliable and professional. Niki has been a real gem in helping us to settle into our new home in a new town. Thank you Niki for an outstanding service. Chris and Denise

We decided to use Niki and Sarah's help to design a guest bedroom and bathroom in our house in 2020. Niki's design process was very helpful in clarifying various options, distilled out of our rather unrefined thoughts!. Niki guided us patiently and expertly through this process to evolve a design for both rooms which worked really well. The project then moved onto the implementation phase. Niki and Sarah selected the trades people for our project and controlled all the materials ordering - we had nothing to do here at all. Like any project, there were of course one or two issues, but these were all resolved with Niki and Sarah's assistance. We now have an excellent quaity guest bedroom and en-suite bathroom and are very pleased indeed with the result. David and Tina

We needed to significantly upgrade our home interior, both decoration and furnishings and needed help that was both professional and stylish. Niki’s start point was to really understand our preferences enabling us to retain the few pieces we wished to keep and move forwards from there!!! Then she converted that into a plan which is both practical and exciting. Great communication, executed to time and cost and a result which we love and every day brings a smile to our faces.

Niki helped me and my daughter with the design of our new London flat and she was great to work with. She was able to meet me near my work in Henley but was also free to come to London to have meetings in the space itself. She was prompt with replying and managing any issues and the design itself was brilliant. My daughter lives there permanently and is still very happy and comfortable there. I recommend Niki very highly.

They are brilliant at understanding your personal taste and style, then encouraging you to go beyond your normal comfort level to choose exciting colour schemes / layouts / furniture. We feel the areas still reflect who we are, but with elevated style levels. 2 years on from the first project and we still love the way it looks.

We engaged Niki some months ago to provide options for our bathroom renovation. What really impressed us was her innovation in using every piece of space to best advantage whist preserving style options as well. We are thrilled with the results and cannot recommend her highly enough. By chance we discovered that she decorated our house approx 18 years ago (Before we owned the property) and it still looks fresh - excellent style and appropriate use of colour ensured the work she did all those years ago has stood the test of time. Simply the best. We resisted the temptation to look for the cheapest designer and went for the best available (Although we found charges very reasonable) and we are pleased we did.

I have almost finished renovating my house but just needed some help with a few problem areas. Niki came in for 2 hours and filled that time with interesting and really useful suggestions - her help was just what i needed to complete my project. I didnt need a complete makeover, and i didnt have a large budget at all but two hours of her time was just enough to help me finish my project. Brilliant experience.

Niki and her team designed the house we always wanted but would never have been able to put together ourselves. Our new home is stylish but works for a family with young children and her contacts mean we have beautiful, unique pieces we haven't seen anywhere else. She completely rethought the layout of our home so we now use every space. She also rethought our clutter and storage issues! It makes us so happy coming home and we would definitely recommend Nikki to others wanting a creative, professional and personalised service.

Niki helped us with a complete redesign and overhaul of our living room in 2015. She also project managed all of the work to complete the room ( including finding builders, glaziers, flooring specialists, plumbers, electricians, plasterers, carpenters, and interior furnishing specialists.) We inherited the old room decor, which was very chintzy and dated, when we moved to the house and Niki helped us make the room a comfortable place to relax and bring it bang up to date with lots of individual touches that reflect our own personal style & pieces that we have collected on our travels in recent years. Niki is a true professional who wants to do a quality job, no matter what your budget. She took time to listen and understand what we wanted and respected that throughout the project. She had a great contacts book and managed the suppliers and the project very well to time and to budget throughout. We didn't have to do anything beyond choosing the final finishes that we wanted from the options Niki presented. We love everything about the space and use it all the time and always have comments about what a WOW factor it has. We are really delighted with the whole project and would not hesitate to recommend Niki to anyone.

We hired Niki Schafer to help us with our living room, dining room and new bathroom. Through her impressively insightful discovery process, she effortlessly identified the common ground between my and my husband's wants and needs. We followed her genius advice (which was also tailored to our budget) and we're delighted with the results. She made the whole process a pleasure - it's like she's part relationship coach and part interiors whisperer! Investing in refurbishment feels scary when you don't know what you're doing, so Niki's advice was invaluable; we knew exactly what we were doing as a result of her input.

Working with Niki was a very positive experience. As a designer she really took time to understand my needs for the room as well as my personality, allowing me to input my personal stamp as well. The end result was a collaboration which I really love!
