Object A is a design/build studio providing custom interiors, furniture, cabinetry and built-ins, architectural fabrication, and architectural lighting, as well as contract/wholesale metal fabrication for furniture and cabinet makers, interior designers, architects, and contractors. The owner is a Southern Illinois based designer and custom builder/fabricator with 18 years of combined experience in metal fabrications, carpentry and custom installations. His background in both sculpture and architecture have helped in developing the capacity to recognize the spatial implications and conceptual potency of the objects with which we interact daily. Object A has a particular interest in objects and installations that produce spatial relationships between users, promote program shifts and versatility, and help the owner/occupant express themselves through the act of dwelling. We believe in the intuitions of our clients, and work to maintain an open dialogue and a collaborative spirit.

I purchased the Steel Bath Vanity with Reclaimed Oak Shelving from Object A. The item is very nice and well made ... however, the concrete top stains when any item is placed on it. A photo of stains from a hard plastic soap dish is shown. The most disappointing issue is the complete lack of customer support. I've attempted to contact the representative by phone and text message on many occasions. The only time I get a response is when threatening to return the item. The only remedy being offered is a kit to be supplied for me to resurface the top myself. It's been three weeks and multiple calls and texts and I have yet to receive a kit. I expected much more for an item that costs over $2,000. Proceed with caution if you decide to use this seller.

I am sorry we have been slow to respond to your issue. We typically are more responsive. In your case, because we have never received a complaint in almost three years of satisfied customers about the finish on our concrete sinks and counters, we don't have a ready protocol for repairing damages past the point of sale.

Likewise, because we can't be sure of the circumstances that led to your finish being damaged, its difficult for us to diagnose precisely just based on a photo. Certainly, however, as with most natural stone surfaces, any product with acidic or astringent properties allowed to sit pooled on the surface can effectively act as a solvent that softens your top seal enough to allow for trapped moisture or oils to collect below what would otherwise be a hard protective seal.

Your touch up kit is en route, however, and we are happy to help trouble shoot your issue and walk you through some steps to refresh your finish, as well as provide some basic maintenance and care instructions for avoiding these accidents in the future.

Joshua takes great pride in creating exactly the piece you are wanting. It takes time, but man is it worth it! The desk he created for us is absolutely beautiful and exceeded any of our expectations. The craftsmanship on the desk is second to none and extremely sound. We will own this desk for many years and it might become a family heirloom for us as we are able to pass it down to our kids. If you are looking for an extremely well made and unique piece of furniture you need to get in touch with Joshua! Oh, and the amazing care in which the desk was packaged and shipped was A+!

I love my vanity so much. It took me quite a while to pull the trigger on this item because it was a lot of money for me to spend on a vanity for a small NYC apt. bathroom, but I loved it so much and it was exactly what I wanted. Joshua was great to do business with and always got back to me quickly. My vanity is gorgeous. I also had Joshua make me some shelves to match the wood on the vanity. I do wish the vanity top was solid white and also wish I didn't have so much plumbing showing. That's my fault, as it's just something I didn't think about. I did figure out a workaround for the visibility of the plumbing that I'm very happy with though. I bought some black radiator sheeting at Lowes and attached it inside the vanity with velcro. You can see it in one of the photos.

Joshua custom made a steel and reclaimed wood vanity for my new build in Florida. The vanity is absolutely perfect, was made quickly to my exact specs, well crated, and speedily shipped. I could not have asked for a better interaction/transaction. An absolute pleasure, and a piece we will enjoy for decades. Thank you, Joshua!!!!

Josh was part of another artisan co-op in the same building where we worked and we had a friendly business relationship for close to 2 years until he moved back to his home state. We were very sorry to see him go! He is a first-rate welder/metal fabricator and was always very fair with us. We employed him too many times to recall and were absolutely happy every time. He also did one fairly large project for us, a barn door surround and the track/decorative glider attachment for it. He was happy to help with the installation in Boston at a fair price and did so though his own workload was heavy. In fact, Josh was almost always working overtime as he serviced many of the businesses in our building and worked his own projects too. We wish he was still in Providence!!

I had an ambitious project to design: As a DJ/Producer I needed to fit all of my gear within the width of a 4’-0” wall niche. I had to make this work or otherwise I wouldn’t accept moving into the apartment I currently live with my fiancée. I designed the piece in Rhino3D and provided Josh from Object A the 3D file and drawings of the idea for the piece. I had not figured out how the details and the constructability of it would work. Josh took my vision and nailed it perfectly into a gorgeous and precise metal piece of furniture. He figured out all the details and I couldn’t be happier with the result. His price was fair for such a complex custom made piece, and I would highly recommend him for any fabrication job.
