We initially engaged Penelope to provide us with ideas for a new living/kitchen area. After our meeting Penelope provided us with a 3D design, floor plan and interior design report. Penelope was able to take all of our ideas and develop a design that would work well for our family of 5. With Penelope’s help we decided to complete the renovation and it has totally transformed our home and the way we live. Penelope project managed the renovation for us: recommending a fantastic builder, arranging trades and quotes, being onsite as required while we were working, bringing fabric, tile and flooring samples to the house and many other jobs which made the renovation process much easier for us. Penelope gave us the confidence to complete the large renovation we’d been talking about for 8 years. We have no hesitation in recommending Penelope.

I have great pleasure in recommending Penelope from Plush Design Interiors. Her response to my request on Houzz was almost instant and from there the fun and relationship grew. It was such a relief for me to hand my bedroom project over to her. Her ideas were brilliant and together we made selections. We had a wonderful experience with Plush Design Interiors, and would recommend Penelope to anyone looking for beautiful, practical interior design ideas and advice. We engaged Penelope to provide an interior styling report and help us establish an overall vision for changes in our newly purchased home, as well as to advise on specific immediate projects like renovating the home office into a nursery. Penelope really listened to what we liked and needed - with a young family we had to stay practical about what would and wouldn't work, but we still wanted a home that felt stylish and put-together. She was generous with her time and thoughtful in her advice, and working with her gave us the courage to make choices that resulted in beautiful, stylish rooms that we would never have achieved on our own. I recently employed Penelope to provide an interior design report on some rooms I am wanting to extend and renovate. I wanted to see how it could all look before going ahead. Penelope is awesome & I would highly recommend her to anyone.. She definitely knows her stuff (in fact I think she lives & breathes it) My job was a bit different as I just need someone to give me advice throughout my home to bring it altogether. The amount of money I wasted getting the wrong piece was rediculous but with a second eye & great advice I can now move forward.. Don’t hesitate call Penelope

Our house has reached the stage where it needs updating, and Penelope offered some great suggestions and advice. We wanted a guide which would enable us to make improvements over time, as well as ideas for an immediate upgrade to floor coverings which would assist our hydronic heating to work more efficiently. We were also seeking ideas to upgrade our kitchen as it was originally custom built from solid timber, and although now looks dated, is too good to completely rip out and start from scratch. In the initial visit, Penelope spent time discussing our needs and lifestyle, and on her second visit brought samples for the kitchen and a comprehensive Interior Design Report. She also recommended tradespeople whom she knew delivered high quality results. She made suggestions that were cost effective, and that I would not have thought of, while respecting our colour preferences and minimalist approach to decor. Thank you, Penelope.

I had the pleasure recently of working with Penelope Herbert on the decoration of my small apartment. Penelope provided a wealth of creative ideas, was extremely professional in meeting appointment times , agreed timeframes and in providing me with a full report with links to possible suppliers and suggestions for the colour palette throughout the apartment and particularly for a few key pieces which will provide the framework for the overall vision for the apartment. Penelope is a delight to work with and has a warm personality which she uses to great effect to guide and support choices, never imposing her own view but gradually guiding one towards the best scheme for the space. I wanted to create a retro vibe in a new home for me and my three young children. I am the owner of a small graphic design business which means I have an appreciation of colour, layout, and the visual aspects of my home. While wanting to create a stylish home I also wanted it to be comfortable place for the kids. I was too busy to create the interior and source the homewares myself and I was lucky enough to hear about Penelope through a mutual friend. Penelope was recommended to me because of her ability to work creatively with the needs of her clients, not just design what’s modern and on-trend. Penelope quickly understood what I wanted and suggested ideas, surfaces, fabrics, and colours suitable for an adult space that’s shared with three energetic children. She also sourced a couple of retro pieces of furniture that are perfect feature pieces. Our new space is a great blend of sophistication and fun with a mid-century modern and 60’s retro feel. My three kids were included in some of the discussions around their own spaces, which they really appreciated. I am very happy with the results, I now have a stylish home that I love and the kids enjoy being at. Penelope was a dream to deal with and it was a fuss-free and communicative process where we both listened to each other. Penelope has my sincere thanks and I recommend her highly.

As medical professionals, my wife Eleanor and I have little time to think about interior design. However, we did want a home that reflected our lifestyle and travels. With a recommendation from a friend, we engaged Penelope to help us with colour, design, and layout. From the first meeting, we knew we could work with Penelope as she seemed to 'get inside our heads' in terms of bringing to life our vision. Penelope is communicative, creative, and efficient. Her suggestions and mood boards helped us to 'see' what the results may be. She even suggested opening up a room with French doors and installation of sun tunnels in our dark hallway. The results are a cohesive yet eclectic home that represents what WE love, not simply the style and 'trend' suggestions of an interior designer. Penelope listened to what WE wanted and we are very happy with the results. For anyone wanting a home that reflects THEM and not the designer, we highly recommend Penelope and Don't Call Me Penny.
