Established in 1976 by R.A. “Chupa” Nelson, RA Nelson has grown from an enterprising two-man partnership to an employee owned organization with 80+ employees based out of two regional offices. Founded and headquartered in the Vail Valley of Colorado, we have helped build some of the most note-worthy resort communities in the West, including: Vail, Beaver Creek, Bachelor Gulch, Arrowhead, Aspen, Snowmass, Buttermilk, Telluride, Copper Mountain, Keystone, and Breckenridge. As a mountain contractor since our inception, we have focused on taking care of the communities where we live and play: building sustainable structures with the know-how of a local. We excel at working in difficult-to-access areas, have dealt with extreme winter conditions and challenging soils, and are familiar with the government entities and requirements throughout our mountain towns. With dedicated employees and partners on board, we are able to create a collaborative approach in everything we do. Experience has taught us that working together with Owners, Architects, Consultants, and Subcontractors is the recipe for a successful project – built safely, on budget, on schedule and to the highest quality achievable.
