Red Rabbit Painting

Kirsten is awesome. After buying a new couch, and 60$ in SW samples- I finally called. She picked out 4 colors for me that flowed with the rest of my house. She really has a knack for picking out colors that match your furniture/ bedspreads/ artwork: rest of the house flow etc. I was hesitant to paint my bedroom the color she picked out and it turned out to be my most favorite in the whole house. So calm, cool and relaxing for someone like me who works midnights (yes she took all those details in account also when picking!)

Kirsten painted our entire interior ( 4 bedroom 3200 sq foot home); she agreed to space out the project in chunks to accommodate our budget and family schedule. Her quote was competitively priced even including the high quality paint that she prefers to work with (SW or BM). We love all aspects of her craft: quality workmanship, attention to details, color direction ( see our other review under ciesbarb) and tidiness. She took special care to make each of our children's bedrooms reflect a bit of their personalities. For our youngest, she surprised her by painting an adorable reading buddy ( see hedgehog photo ) in her closet that our daughter delightfully discovered weeks later. Kirsten gets our highest recommendation without any hesitation. We are planning to have her tackle a furniture painting project soon as well as a canvas painting for our master bedroom.

I first met Kirsten Pinkerton when I hired her for color direction for our new build construction. After a thoughtful discussion of the look we were wanting to achieve, she set about with her paint color palette and went room by room of our new house, taking into account lighting, sun exposure and room function to give recommendations for paint colors. She is highly skilled, conscientious, practical and a true artist in her overall vision. We were very impressed and pleased with the comprehensive look of her suggestions for color and ultimately hired her to paint our entire interior. Friends, family, as well as other contractors, all comment on the gorgeous coloring of our home. We love it too!

Kirsten and Riley of Red Rabbit did a beautiful job in our home. We undertook a big project for the remodeling our second floor of our home: two bathrooms, four bedrooms and the upstairs foyer. Bathrooms were totally redone from the showers and bathroom walls in stone/natural tiles to new plumbing fixtures/accessories at the higher-end of the spectrum. Thus, the two bathrooms required special touches in each to comlete their look. The first of the two bathrooms was tiled in the Jinshan Bone polished line with a Camerino Listello border in the showers. Red Rabbit was contracted to paint our Kraftmaid cabinet, which was in excellent condition in black with a silver trim to tie it in with the newly installed stone and decorative trim. The bathroom window followed the same theme. A wall was left for access to the shower, in case of plumbing repair. Kirsten painted it in a faux finish that just completely tied the wall, with the brick sized stone on the connecting walls, it looks so incredibly like the natural stone. The last part of this bathroom was the ceiling, it was painted in an almost navy base with like a silver blush mixed in – this gives it a textured, lush look – absolutely beautiful. Kirsten is very knowledgeable on the products and techniques that she uses. The quotes were in writing and primarily not to exceed quotes. The second bathroom is the common area one and it was tiled in the Biltmore line of stone from the Tile Shop. This line runs white to off-white with a hue of light to minty green. The cabinet in this room was replaced with a Merillat cabinet in black slate and Kohler “Frost” colored sinks. Initially, we thought an avocado color would tie things in nicely. Through discussions with Kirsten, we agreed upon a teal color done in Venetian Plaster. We had never seen this look before and she described the process very well. This look just made the bathroom come together exquisitely. The four bedrooms had never really been painted, so the Red Rabbit team did perform standard work on the walls that included wall repairs. priming, and sanding. Each room had two coats of paint applied – the color range for three of rooms run from a sea blue; to peacock kind of variation to a lighter version of midnight blue. The fourth bedroom had light green, reminiscent of an antique kind of tone. The foyer was painted a sand color . A whitewash technique was then used on all the rooms. This technique was a really good suggestion, in consideration of older walls either previously wall papered, not having been painted ever or in long time. Additionally, three of the rooms had special murals/poster like paintings. My husband enjoys the decorating aspect of the remodeling and Kirsten worked closely with him on bringing to life what was envisioned. The master bedroom with the sea blue like color, received a beautiful sea scape with shimmery like waves mural. The guest bedroom in the light version of midnight blue color had two poster sized cityscape, night scenes taken from tiles we had purchased. The second largest bedroom had three French themed paintings, such Le Chat, Le Artiste and Loie Fuller. The smaller bedroom serves as my office and the peacock color idea originated from a Tiffany styled lamp. It makes the room very pleasing, with the southern light exposure that comes in. The portion of work in the bedrooms that can be truly considered “Art” came out with lovely detail and enhanced color renditions. Kirsten worked with us in trying to stay within our budget requirements, the ideas for the posters had to be tempered to stay within our boundaries. In no way, did the quality of the work diminish from our budget constraints – it was simply a scaling down of the initial ideas. The Red Rabbit team's work most certainly enhanced the quality of our home and it will bring pleasure over many years. We look forward to working with them in the future.

When my wife and I found out that we were expecting twins (a boy and a girl) we knew we wanted to do something special with their nursery. We were told about a local artist named Kirsten Pinkerton who was not only a pleasure to work with but had an unbelievable talent to reach deep within our sence of style and create an original concept that went far beyond our expectations. My wife and Kirsten came up with the idea of a pear tree since we were bringing in a pair of children into the world. The tree drops two pears with their names on them over the cribs. Additionally,she put both the English and Greek alphabets on the opposite side of the room to help them learn the language of their heritage. Red Rabbit Painting does an excellenct job. From the bidding to picking up the last drop cloth. The first time Red Rabbit did painting for me was two years ago. She took my drab family room and transformed it into WOW> So a few weeks ago, my husband asked me when we can get the front room painted. He had patiently waited 2 years for me to paint it. Well, I called Kirsten . She rearranged her schedule to paint the front room for me. Since her quote was so reasonable, I asked her to paint the foyer, dining room and all the Trim. She requoted-happily. She had the project done within days! It was like no interruption at my house at all.! They are prompt, courteous, beautiful painters and just plain nice!!!! She even washed my wall sconces before she put them back on the wall!

I found Red Rabbit Painting on Houzz. The owner, Kirsten Pinkerton, was exceptional in every way. This is company is not your run of the mill paint company. She gave color direction that took my remodel from beautiful to extraordinary. Her eye for color and instinctive understanding of the client's style took my home to the next level. A true artist. Her attention to detail was remarkable. During the process, I learned a great deal about flashing, caulking, and paint quality. My crown molding and window trim have never looked as good - even better than when everything was new! She did some restoration on an antique mirror and bombe chest that brought new life to my treasured pieces. She repainted the trim on an old painting to match the cappuccino cabinets in my kitchen. Also, we commissioned Kirsten to do a painting for the great room. I visited another project Red Rabbit Painting had painted and saw first hand the quality. She had faux painted kitchen cabinets that turned plain old wood cabinets to a designer look. The cabinets had been done for quite some time and looked brand new. Red Rabbit Painting is one of the most professional contractors that I have ever worked with. More over, Kirsten's (Red Rabbit Painting) talent is superior to her professionalism, which is saying a tremendous amount about both her talent and work ethic/professionalism. I have sent her pictures that she hopefully uploads to her website of before/after's of my kitchen. She took a old maple kitchen and turned it into a distressed white masterpiece for what would have been 1/10 the cost of replacing the entire kitchen. I cannot go on about her work enough. Additionally, she did color coordination of my entire house where we worked with the grey and blue palates and she chose colors that were exactly what we were looking for. My wife and I plan to have her come back and do more work for us in the very near future. My last comments will be brief, but when you invite someone into your home, you want them to have respect for it. Kirsten is one of the cleanest and respectful individuals in your home. Great recommendations for color and a great job with painting! Even painted some older furniture to give it new life. Very professional.

There were areas in the house that were faux painted and they needed touchup and her knowledge of this type of painting was excellent. She was able to match the style and color without a problem. She worked with two other painters and they all worked well as a team and were able to complete the project on time and within budget. She is a pleasure to deal with.

Last spring, the Red Rabbit Team professionals painted our great room, kitchen, dining room, den, foyer and bathroom and completely transformed our home into a beautiful place to come home to.
