From our office in Topsham, near Exeter, we offer a complete garden design service covering all of Devon and the neighbouring counties of Cornwall, Somerset and Dorset. Whether your garden is large or small, in town or in the country, traditional or contemporary in style, we can help you make the most of the space available. We take a client focused approach: gardens are all about the relationship of people with the natural environment. With over twenty years experience of designing gardens, we are always searching for a "hook", something special and unique about the place, the people and the surroundings that will lead the design process. We look at your outdoor space and see beyond any limitations to deliver a well designed garden that delights and surprises. Clients tell us that we had really listened and understood what they were looking for: "I would never have thought of that, but it's exactly what I wanted, and more!". Our work includes commissions for the Royal Horticultural Society’s gardens at Rosemoor and Wisley and has been featured in the regional and national press. Roger Webster is a Registered Member of the Society of Garden Designers, a former regional organiser for the SGD, and has sat on the Conservation Committee and Council of Management of the Devon Gardens Trust.

Free initial site visit and consultation within thirty miles of Exeter; travel expenses may be charged for greater distances. The initial meeting is followed up by a written report and outline brief, with a quotation for the design. Most design work is undertaken on an agreed fixed fee basis with project management, if required, at an agreed rate. Budgets are discussed during that first meeting to ensure that the design is tailored to realistic expectations and cost estimates.

Roger’s design has been a success. He carefully listened to my requirements and ideas and came up with an innovative design. His brief was to redesign the whole garden front and back which is tricky sloping site. Over the next months he was on hand to organise a survey, quotations for the work and comment on the hardscaping and planting. He produced a detailed planting plan including some unusual plants, which have worked really well in the garden. His design transformed the outdoor areas around the house and has allowed us to fully utilize the garden at all times of the day taking into account the shade and sun. I have thoroughly enjoyed my garden this summer surrounded by beautiful plants and look forward to seeing how it develops over the years. Most importantly I enjoyed working with Roger on this project.

The garden we inherited when we moved in was uninspiring. We met with Roger and talked about styles, colours, features, how much time we wanted to devote to looking after the garden and very important our budget. His design was a country garden with a contemporary theme. We are thrilled with the design and the planting and colour combination and this is just the first year. We would have no hesitation in recommending him.

I needed some expert advice about planting in large containers in an awkward area of my courtyard in Topsham. Roger's practice is normally geared to much larger projects, however he provided an excellent written spec and diagram and advised on purchasing some excellent troughs at a brilliant price- that will perfectly suit my needs. When visiting a local plant centre he also directed me to which plants were suitable for container planting- and how best to prepare the troughs. This was invaluable- without him I would have come home with totally unsuitable plants.

We moved into a new home and the garden was just lawn and flower borders,which were waiting for planting.We asked Roger Webster to design a garden for us.We gave our ideas,and Roger incorporated them into his own ideas.He suggested a large planter,and a cube and sail,with a path leading to the slightly raised cube.Roger chose the planting,again taking our likes into consideration. we have ended up with a lovely and interesting garden and it is now becoming mature and is delightful.Very subtle lighting is perfect for the winter evenings,lighting the Victorian red brick wall at the back of the garden and the walk way and a bird bath.The whole effect is most pleasing. Working with Roger was a pleasure and we are delighted with the finished product.

A commenté : What to do with this front garden?I would remove the membrane and possibly some of the gravel too, or just dig the gravel in, it won't do any harm but will make the ground free-draining, which could be a positive.
