Mayne Construction did a major remodel for us 6 years ago. We recently experienced slight damage to the exterior after some heavy winds. My husband called Ron just to ask for a referral to address the damage. Ron picked up on the first ring! He showed up the next day, with ladder and tools in hand. We honestly had no intention of asking him to fix the issue but he graciously appeared the next day and our problem was resolved. Not sure who would have personally climbed the ladder and showed up after a job done 6 years ago, but that’s the kind of guy Ron is. Couldn’t recommend him more highly!! If you are considering Mayne Construction for a project, don’t hesitate. They are there for the long haul!!!

Ron and his team are genuinely the best. They did some renovation for us at the end of last year and it all finished on time and on budget! We have never met anyone as honest and responsive as Ron. He is someone who truly cares about the quality of his work. He even has done a number of minor things for us after the job ended. If you’re reading this review and you’re thinking about any project, I assure you, you’ve found your team. Ron is amazing and you’ll never look back.

We used Ron for a project in Winter 2019 and were so happy with him, when it came to our next project we didn't want to even speak with anyone else. Ron and his team of professionals renovated 2 bathrooms (including a redesign/pipe moving in one) and also gut renovated our Master bedroom, bumping out the wall, raising the ceiling and building a brand new master bathroom (there was no bathroom before). He only brings in the best people and because of all of the wonderful projects he works on, his teams come when he asks, work hard and get the work done quickly and at the highest quality. His communication was top notch, great responding to text and easy to get on the phone. He stopped by almost everyday to check on the status and to make sure that we were happy and informed of the timeline. We had some small other electrical and painting items that we wanted done around the house and he was happy to have his team help with those projects as well. I will only use Ron for renovations on our house.

Where do I even begin? We would recommend working with Ron and his team to absolutely everyone we know (and we have!). When we first began the renovation project for our home, we also were expecting our first child. Every one we spoke with told us that we were out of our minds to have a renovation deadline that was only a few weeks before the baby was due. Everyone said to expect to move into the house months after our estimated deadline and to not get our hopes up. With any other contractor, that might have been the case, but not with Ron! Ron and his team got us into our fully renovated home exactly on schedule, even with some additional items that we added to the scope in the middle of the project. Our family members were shocked when they would drop by the home unexpectedly (we were not living there during the renovation) and there were always teams of people working at all hours of the day. Ron went above and beyond to get us into our home on time, and he did an absolutely incredible job. However, it’s not just Ron, but also his amazing team including Sam (painter who is so responsive and thorough), Oleg (who created an incredible great room with high ceilings), Dan (built us a kitchen we absolutely love), Wilson (updated all the lighting and made sure everything worked well), Ciro (gave us beautiful floors), Jay (who picked up the phone every time we had a plumbing question), and countless others who made this process run so smoothly. The quality of their work is fantastic and the level of communication is unparalleled. He is very transparent about budgets and estimates and much more organized than anyone else we had interviewed or spoken with. We texted with Ron constantly, and he always updated us with frequent phone calls, and I just can’t imagine working with any other team. We don’t just feel like this group helped us move into our house, but truly made it our home, and became friends through the process. We always feel like we can count on Ron and his team - even once the project was completed we know we will work with him and his team for anything that comes up in the future. Lastly, the quality of the work is wonderful and the before, and after pictures of our home, still amaze us. There were a lot of details that we leaned on Ron and his team to help guide us in choosing, and we’re so happy that we did. We highly recommend working with Ron and his team, you will not regret it!!

After finding them on Houzz, I had the pleasure of working with Mayne Construction for a complete demo and rebuild of my kitchen and guest bathroom, and I cannot express how thrilled I am with the results. From start to finish, the experience was nothing short of exceptional. I give them a well-deserved 5-star recommendation. Ron, Dan and their team exhibited remarkable patience throughout the project. They took the time to understand my vision, actively listened to my preferences, and were always open to adjustments. Ron and his team transformed our home, and the results are nothing short of exceptional, with our favorite space being the kitchen. In the mornings we would head downstairs to make sure it wasn't just a dream. It felt like Christmas morning every day and it still does. Everything about their work is quality. It's beautiful and made to last. It's not just about the finished product, though. Throughout the process, Ron was easy to work with, thoughtful and honest. One night, he drove 40 min to our home to turn off lights that were accidentally left on from the day crew. When we changed our mind about which way a door would swing, Ron went back to the store to swap it without hesitation. When there was a misunderstanding about the completion date, Ron made a few calls and pulled everything together in time for us to move in. Even now, months later, he personally came by to help with a small issue we didn't know how to fix. We've heard a lot of renovation horror stories from friends and families. Ron was the complete opposite. We never thought we'd live in a home like this. We are so thankful for Dan, Igor, Oleg, Angel, Sam and his painters, Wilson, Cero, and more. We wholeheartedly recommend Ron and his team without hesitation!

First off, we need to preface this review with the fact that there is zero exaggeration regarding anything we're about to say. We have completed several residential renovations in the New York and Connecticut areas and literally have never ever had a process go as well as the scale renovation we just completed with Ron Mayne and his team. We just completed a gut internal and external renovation of a 1 bedroom cottage in Connecticut. This has been an amazing experience. Every other renovation has been stressful, delayed, far more expensive than expected. If you're even considering Ron and his team for a job, we can save you lots of time - you've found the true unicorn in this industry - hire him. Ron excels across the board - communication, quality, transparency. He has a genuine affinity for what he does and it comes through in the work, the timing, the skill across the board from the work of his broader team. Ron is a kind, friendly and overall great person. He is so honest, ethical, transparent and easy to work with. Communication - there is not a contractor in this country that is a better communicator than Ron. We've had other folks go silent for days, weeks - never the case with Ron. If you have a question, he answers it. A problem? He checks it out and solves it. Quality - top notch - Ron and his team are highly skilled. He will get everything done to your liking and if something needs further attention, he will address it. Transparency - Ron is honest and ethical - often hard to find qualities in people in general, let alone contractors. He and his team are a pleasure to work with. No surprises - he tells you the truth, not just what you want to hear. Process - smooth sailing. If there's a problem, Ron will call you early and often and discuss options to solve. He also gives great recommendations and acts in your best interest. This has easily been the best renovation project we have ever completed. We will certainly work with Ron on 100% of any projects that we. complete in the future.

My master bathroom project came out like a dream. More than initially envisioned. I met Ron through my amazing architect Vincent Colangelo. We bid out to three general contractors. I met all three and I chose Ron because of his simple straightforward pricing/budgeting and client centered approach. He took time to listen to what I visualized. My project took FOUR months as my wife and I requested multiple changes to the plans during mid construcion and troubled shots all this with us. Ron's experiences and hands attention patiently delivered all the requests above and beyond. Now, I'm the biggest fan of Ron and his dream teams can't wait to move on to the next project!

Ron and his team transformed our kitchen from our least favorite space to our most favorite space in the house. The process from start to finish was like Swiss clockwork; work tasks were sequenced seamlessly and the workmanship was excellent. Everyone was professional and truly cared about the quality of their respective work. Not being confined to standard cabinet widths and depths allowed us the flexibility to optimize our kitchen for how we used it and how we envisioned the finished space to look. In this market, I was fortunate enough to find Ron and his team to work on the re-model of my front exterior entry to improve the curb appeal of an otherwise cookie-cutter house. I thought the project may be too small for Ron and his team to undertake...but the team treated the project with utmost care and professionalism. Ron was instrumental in guiding me through this process and suggested changes that I am so glad I made in hindsight. The end result more than exceeded my expectations. Angel and his team really did a great job. Everyone from the painter and gutter repairer were professional, organized and kept the workspace super tidy. Working with Ron was nothing short of incredible - he literally made our kitchen dreams come true! First off - I had looked at two other local contractors previous to finding Ron. Thank goodness they fell through and we found Ron! Ron far exceeded them in communication, pricing, quality/design and his unbelievable team. He was able to deliver us not just a cookie-cutter kitchen update, but the most incredible CUSTOM kitchen that is so elevated in its design and craftsmanship. Ron's whole team was absolutely amazing. Every single one of them were such incredible professionals and truly cared about the quality of their work (a special thing to find nowadays!). They were all timely, communicative, super respectful of our property and most importantly of all, they delivered stellar quality work. Dan (and his whole team, espeically Ruskin and Igor) went above and beyond, creating the most beautiful handmade cabinets we could dream up and installing everything to perfection. The design, quality, craftsmanship, finishing and attention to detail are truly unparalleled. All of the other subcontractors were exceptional as well. Ron worked tirelessly as air-traffic-control through the construction phase, coordinating each task/trade with incredible efficiency, double checking all the work being done and trouble-shooting/making suggestions throughout the process in a way only a true professional with years of experience can do. He kept everyone on schedule and had all the main work completed in what felt like record time. Communication-wise, you won't find anyone else like Ron out there. He was so responsive and helpful and he took care of everything (and more!) that we needed. Not only did he make sure everything ran seamlessly, but he also answered texts/questions at all hours, never leaving us uninformed or questioning anything. His pricing was incredibly fair and I loved his straight shooting honestly in regards to budget/pricing from the start. He was honest and far more straightforward than other contractors who quoted the job. He was flexible with us doing some the work so that we could do the project within our budget, and we really appreciated that he kept the project costs on track without adding on additional expenses throughout the process. I really cannot say enough wonderful things about Ron. He's a wonderful, sincere and honest person all-around, a true gem of a human! I only hope he won't be too busy to work with us in the future, as I would love to hire him for other projects and renovations! Ron and his crew brought my kitchen vision to life and we absolutely love the end result. I have heard horror stories about renovations and know living through construction is never easy, but we worked closely together and were in constant communication throughout the entire process which made it much easier than I ever expected. Ron was consistently responsive and on-site, and over 2 years later Ron remains just as responsive with any questions we have. We recently decided to sell our home and the kitchen is absolutely what sold our house. I highly recommend Ron and his crew and would absolutely use them again for any project we have.

I had an amazing experience working with Ron and his impeccable crew. I'm an architect... and while pregnant, I decided to take on the ambitious task of finding a home for my parents to purchase and renovate, with the hope of moving them in before I gave birth. I knew we needed to hire someone with a lot of experience and integrity, as I did not want to be caught micro-managing such a job, especially while pregnant. And WOW, did we strike gold finding Ron! Firstly, during the bidding process, I really appreciated Ron's honesty. Many others were throwing out numbers only because they knew they were matching what I wanted to hear. Ron, on the other hand, took the time to meet with me twice to level with me about what we were budgeting vs. what we wanted. He also showed up on a Sunday with a project manager, electrician, insulation lead, carpenter, concrete guy, painter... a whole crew, conveying to me that his subs had their heads in the game to give more accurate quotes and better understand the scope/conditions. Once awarded the job, Ron and his subcontractors were excellently coordinated. Each trade worked efficiently (the neighbors were always super impressed!), and they weren't shy about asking questions when details needed clarifying. If I found something that was not to my satisfaction, or something that did not follow the plans, it was immediately resolved. When renovating old homes, there are often surprises... Ron's crew did a great job of bringing those to our attention so that we could make the right choice in ensuring the longevity of the home. Together, we were able to make what was once a seasonal lakeside cottage in disarray, into a beautiful year-long residence, no doubt doubling its value. I also appreciated that everything came in at the price agreed upon. Credits were issued when some portions of the scope were reduced, and change orders were reasonable when the scope was added to. Overall, we came in right where we were planning to, thanks to Ron's expert guidance. Shout out to Jay, Wilson, Walter, Sergei, Sam, Jorge, Angel, Dan, Ricky, Jose, Ryan and their crews... thanks to your efforts, my parents are now SUPER happy grandparents, in love with their new home on the lake, that we'll all get to enjoy as a family for many years to come. Ron’s work was *amazing* — We'd give he and his team the highest recommendation, and will work with them again in the future. Ron and Dan took on five projects in our house: - Refinishing and staining light hardwood floors, - Building an outdoor kitchen with a pergola, built-in smoker and cabinets, - Renovating a home office with custom built-ins, - Converting two closets into a home spa with a hot tub and sauna, and - Building a (hidden) movie theater with a wet bar Ron’s work was high-quality, on-time and on-budget — the only changes to the plans came from us, as we had new ideas and new options for them to consider. Throughout the process, Ron and his team were flexible and open to anything we’d throw at them. Ron was transparent about pricing and always suggested 2-3 ways to get things done, which made us feel comfortable at every turn. Ron (and Dan) were personable and took care of our home as if it were their own. They gave us design feedback, connected us to trusted providers (e.g., paint, flooring, masonry), helped us pick out appliances, and custom-made pieces to help round out our spaces. They have stood by the quality and craftsmanship of their work, replacing and re-doing any work that we had even the slightest questions about. In fact, when we had *separate* issues in the house due to rainwater, Ron and his team jumped on that as well. Ron’s team also helped tackle a few other projects along the way: Upgrading our light switches to smart switches for LEDs, repainting a bedroom and a bathroom, putting in new outlets, installing an EV charger, fixing a bathtub, installing large mirrors, etc. I could go on and on. Their commitment to us was really impressive. In the end, the work took about 16 weeks — including permitting and appliance delivery — and we’re happy to be still be in contact with the team regularly. We think of Ron, Dan and their crew as friends now, and look forward to starting new projects with them if their calendar will allow it!

I would highly recommend working with Ron Mayne and team. We hired him to complete a full kitchen and living room renovation (including new window layout, and removing a large load bearing wall), two bathrooms, and refinishing all floors. I found Mayne Construction through Houzz reviews. As first-time homeowners and renovators, we didn’t really know where to start on a large project. We spoke to several contractors and what initially stood out to me was Ron’s responsiveness and willingness to listen to our ideas and suggest realistic ways to get there within our budget. When we identified additional structural work that needed to be completed in the basement while scoping out the project, he worked with the engineer on a more cost-effective option that still met the code requirements. We felt the quotes were fair and Ron did a great job of managing to the budget while being flexible with small changes. The project took about six months and even with long lead times from the cabinet company, Ron was able to keep various aspects of the project moving during that wait. We were pleased with all the subcontractors Ron works with. They showed up on time, were professional, clean (we were living there during the entire reno), and most importantly provided quality workmanship. This includes the crews for Oleg – main builder/carpentry, Wilson – electrician, Slava – windows, Carlos – painter, Jay – plumber, Walter – tile. Overall, we’re thrilled with how the work turned out. I think Ron did a great job of executing our vision. He was patient while we made material and design decisions and was always accessible for questions. Ron expertise and strong customer service focus make him a great choice as a GC, and we look forward to working with him again in the future.

I had the pleasure of working with Ron Mayne and his team as my general contractor for a gut renovation of our home, and I have nothing but great things to say about their work. We hired Ron in 2022 and his team to completely renovated my four bed, two bath home in Connecticut, while my family and I were living between London and New Jersey. Despite the distance, Ron and team were professional, attentive, and communicative, making the entire process as seamless as possible. Ron and Oleg are simply the best. We found Mayne Construction after tirelessly searching Houzz, we could not get over all of the reviews and just knew we had to call them. we are SO glad we did!! They came up with an amazing plan for our upstairs addition which included adding an additional bedroom and expanding our Master en suite. Ron is a rare find, honest and thorough. He gave us a very detailed estimate so that there were no items left up for question. Oleg was so creative in his designing of the space and a structural wiz! Thank you guys so much! These are the only guys we will ever call when we need future home renovations!

I found Ron Mayne Construction, LLC through Houzz. I had interviewed several other contractors before I choose him. Ron was so honest and down to earth. I was impressed with him right away. He was very honest about what could and could not be done within my budget. Shortly after the demolition of my old kitchen, I casually mentioned to Ron and Dan that I had invited my family for Thanksgiving dinner. Dan was the manager of the project and cabinet maker. They both had a rather shocked look on their faces. Ron and Dan contacted the rest of the team and put them on warp speed. The next day they were here and worked very late every day, even Saturdays, right up until the evening before Thanksgiving. They managed to finish the sheet rock and get it painted in time for Thanksgiving. They brought up the table and chairs from the basement, laid the rug down and had the dining room set up so the family could sit at a table. Ron's team were all so professional and expert in their fields. Dan's custom cabinets are beautifully made. He made changes in design for me as things went along. Wilson, the electrician, worked so quickly and did a fantastic job. He even put lights on the 2 small porches that never had lighting before. Sam was so helpful in helping me choose the colors for the kitchen and dining room. His painting crew was very gracious in repainting the dining room when I changed my mind on the color. They were very meticulous making sure everything was perfect. Jay, the plumber, was so nice. Besides hooking up the gas stove and new heating, he also fixed my toilet and a small leak he found in the basement, which another plumber I had called earlier couldn't find. I will be calling Jay from now on for all my plumbing problems. Sam, the painter was so helpful in helping me choose colors. To sum it all up, Ron Mayne and his team were wonderful. They were all experts in their field and the nicest people to work with. They always went the extra step to make everything right. Ron actually washed my kitchen windows and bought a bottle of special stainless-steel cleaner and polished my stove! He called it the Ron Mayne touch, The team was here for several months, and I feel we became friends. I would highly recommend Mayne Construction, LLC for your building or remodeling projects.

We used Mayne Construction to remodel a large portion of our house this past summer and could not have been happier. Prior to picking Ron and his team, we interviewed a few different contractors and the right choice became obvious pretty quickly. A few contractors would not commit to a price without a design, which they would not help with until we put a deposit down. Ron not only helped with a design upfront to give us a sense of budget, but he also iterated with us even before we signed a contract with him. This did not change throughout the job, as he was very transparent with any and all changes, and we never felt like we were getting nickel and dimed. He also did a great job of working around us and our dogs for the entire job. I will say there was 1 really bad downside of working with Ron. Despite how tough living through a renovation could be, after seeing the before and after of the house after Ron was done, you will go broke trying to figure out what projects you can work with him on next!

Mayne Construction. Remember that name when you're looking for a general contractor! I guarantee you'll be happy you did. First, some background: In January 2022, my husband and I purchased a three-season lake house built in 1949. The scope of work involved converting the 1471-square-foot structure to a four-season home, updating the existing, outdated spaces and adding a two-car garage plus golf-cart bay and 600 square feet of living space. Designing an efficient HVAC system and upgrading and reconfiguring the electrical and water systems also were included in the plan. Reading the stellar reviews on Houzz brought me to Mayne Construction and I will be forever grateful that they took on this project. Here is why the company also earned a five-star rating from me. Number One: Professionalism. Every person who helped make this addition/renovation possible, from painters and framers to excavators and tilers, conducted themselves with a high degree of professionalism and dedication to their crafts. They took their time and did the job right. I owe them all a boatload of gratitude. Thank you, Danny, Jorge, Wilson and family, Jay, Angel, Serge, Ryan, Jose, Sam, Rafael, Voldomere, Caroline and all their crews. Number Two: Coordination. Amazingly, while working in tandem, all the crews executed their parts efficiently without getting in each others' ways. It was a beautiful dance that involved everyone showing up when needed, respecting each other, the homeowners and neighbors and applying resourcefulness and creativity when necessary. Number Three: Pride of Workmanship. I can honestly say that every crew member took the initiative to give it their best. If they were unsure of something, they asked questions; if they saw something that wasn't right, they pointed it out so the issue could be resolved. Number Four: Ron Mayne. The key to the project's success is company owner Ron Mayne. Abundantly clear from the start was the respect Ron received from every person who worked for him. In turn, Ron trusted them to meet his expectations and they did without question. As I quickly discovered, Ron is a man of his word; he goes above and beyond to make his customers happy. He is an excellent problem solver and handles every issue calmly and with the utmost professionalism. His communication skills with both crew and customers stand out as both clear and effective. He also knows his stuff and is a wealth of experience and expertise. Ron strives for perfection and it shows. You can't go wrong when you are lucky enough to work with Mayne Construction.

We had a fantastic experience with Mayne Construction, and Ron and his team provided the holy grail of renovation experiences. Ahead of schedule, within budget, and exquisite work. At most, people would hope for 2 out of 3. And that is before factoring in all the other wonderful qualities of Mayne Construction, including the communication and flexibility Ron was able to provide and the professionalism of everyone who worked on the project. We had a large renovation that started with just kitchen and evolved into most of our first floor as we discovered more items we wanted to address. Ron was fantastic on being flexible and handling all the requests we threw his way. It never seemed to phase him, and while I’m sure it made his job much harder, we never saw any indication of that. Budget: Our renovation had an agreed upon total price and contract, and everything was clearly laid out so that we knew exactly what was included and what was not (appliances, lighting fixtures, kitchen hardware, countertop). With the wildly fluctuating cost of materials, I was pleasantly surprised that no changes were needed to the total budget. With our changing scope of work, Ron made it very easy to address some add-on work directly with his sub-contractors. Schedule: Mayne Construction blew me away with how they managed the renovation schedule and all the intricacies of the various inspections and all the different subcontractors involved and when each can do its work. Ron handled it all with ease. I really appreciated how Ron made it clear when items that were our responsibility were needed. We were never surprised that a decision of ours was needed. Communication: Ron communicates extremely well. He checked on the project just about every day (if not actually every day) and gave us updates in person, on the phone and by text. The speed with which Ron returns phone calls and texts and the consistency with which he does is impressive. We didn't have a message or phone call to him go unanswered for more than 15 minutes throughout the project. And we were not only texting or calling during business hours. Quality of Work: The quality of the work that Ron and his team did is beyond what we were hoping for. Everything is stunning to look at, and it all functions so beautifully. Beyond having a beautiful home, it was so reassuring that Ron was aligned with what we were looking for. He and his team knew what we were looking for without having to discuss it, and there were many times that Ron was able to provide recommendations or suggestions when we were considering something. Ron and his team were focused on delivering exactly what we were looking for, not just getting the job done. We will definitely be calling Ron for our next project. Working with Mayne Construction was a joy, which is not what most people say after living in the house while a renovation is going on.

Ron is simply the best contractor we have worked with. He helped us with our extensive master bath and closet renovations. As the job progressed Ron stood out with his deep technical know how, flexibility, and singular focus to keep his clients happy. He also impressed us with some of the suggestions he made that saved us thousands of dollars. One such example was when during demo we realized the need of an extra beam that the architect had not realized. The architect's suggested fix was complicated and expensive. Instead Ron brainstormed with his team (Oleg) and came back with a more reasonable suggestion which the architect had completely missed. This saved us at least 7k in structural costs. Over the months there have been many such examples of Ron keeping his client's interest his top priority, and getting the job done right and at a reasonable cost. Another example was when our vanity cabinets came all wrong and the time for the manufacturer to turn around was months. He brought his contractor (Dan) in and fixed them at a nominal cost to us. His change orders are reasonable unlike some others who make money off of them. He understands that the renovation process is nuanced, unpredictable and requires the need to be flexible. He has displayed thorough professionalism and high responsiveness through the process. We will be going to him for our future renovation jobs. We whole heartedly recommend him to anyone considering major renovations.

Erica & John We were extremely happy with Ron, his team and the finished job. Our bathroom got gutted and remodeled. From beginning to end all went smoothly, and the end result was an A+ job. Ron was a real pleasure to work with and was very patient. My first top to bottom reno/restoration was a major challenge to say the least. Ron and his team did a fantastic job of not only bringing my 1800's historic home into the 21st century, but providing thoughtful suggestions to my plans during construction to save me headaches later. I could not speak more highly about Ron and his team! They completed an entire first floor & kitchen renovation in 4 months, which is significantly less time than any other contractor had quoted us. What particularly impressed me is Ron's communication, his general approach, and his team. Communication: I would text Ron at all hours of the day during weekdays and weekends, and he would ALWAYS respond promptly. On the rare occasion he didn't, I would call and sure enough, he would be driving which is why he didn't text back immediately. He was also even-keeled during every conversation. He was clear the entire way through and kept us informed of what would be happening at our house week to week. He was also honest - if we wanted to change something that wasn't worth the cost, he would tell us. It felt like we were working together as a team to improve our home. Approach to issues: As with any major construction project, there were some unexpected things that came up when walls were opened up. Ron took every unexpected issue with stride, always trying to find the best and most inexpensive solution for us. He was always concerned with our best interest, which is not something I always hear about with contractors. Team: Not only was Ron amazing, his entire team was fantastic. The architect he works with, Pierre Hoppenot, designed our first floor in such a way that made our oddly configured first floor flow beautifully. Olig and his guys were so efficient and extremely hard workers. Wilson and his team of electricians were so professional and again, were always finding solutions that were in our best interest. Dan, the cabinet maker, also blew us away. The craftsmanship and quality of our kitchen cabinets has impressed carpenter friends of ours, which says a lot. We have many plans for our house in the coming years. I will for sure be contacting Ron as I trust him and his team for any job at my house. Thank you Ron and your team for making our house livable for our growing family!

Ron and his team did a great job with our home renovation. We loved our new house but really needed to bring it up to date and make it more our own. We refinished all of our hardwoods and installed some new hardwoods in a mudroom, painted our first floor, and gave our kitchen a facelift including counters, backsplash, new cabinet hardware, plumbing, and lighting. We also had a dark wood bar painted white and new stone installed on our fireplace. It looks like a totally different house and we're so happy with how it turned out. Shout outs to Sam and his painting crew–they were incredibly professional and respectful of our space. We've had horrible experiences with painters in the past and Sam has restored our faith. Even when we had little snags with paint colors or finishes he was there and ready to make things right. Also Dan and his cabinet guys, they built us a new island and side cabinet and swapped out our cabinet hardware–some areas required tricky hinges and he made sure to figure it out. I was unsure about how some trim pieces turned out on the island and he went and got a few other options for me to pick from and reinstalled them for us right away. We kept our existing outer cabinets so Dan matched the fronts for the new ones and I was amazed at how good they came out, you would never know they weren't all made at the same time. Walter did our backsplash and was thoughtful and efficient. Wilson did a bunch of electrical and was incredibly precise. I was ok with "good enough" for getting our kitchen pendants centered but he took the time to make sure they were perfect. There was also Ciro and his floor team, the floors in our house were an eye sore, they had 15 years of wear from dogs and were pre-finished with lots of gaps. After Ciro was done it's really hard to tell they aren't originally site finished. Ron's recommended stone fabricator was Ontra stone and we were really impressed with them as well. This was our second time doing a home renovation like this. I think most people would agree that having work done at your house and having people in your space generally isn't pleasant. But with Ron and his guys, it wasn't unpleasant at all. The work all got done in a timely manner and people showed up when they were supposed to, which is huge. Ron is communicative and easy to get a hold of and also checks in and keeps on top of what's going on so you don't have to. I was always impressed when he'd be at our house and call one of his subs for something and they'd pick up on the first ring pretty much every time. He's also just a really nice guy who seems to care deeply about what he does. It's hard to find good people in this industry especially right now, so we're grateful that we found Ron and were able to work with him. We'll definitely hire him in the future for other projects!

It was the best decision we made to have Ron and his team renovate our house. Ron earned my trust from early on during the project. We had a relatively large renovation that lasted more than half a year. There are ton of parts to the project, big and small. Whenever we got questions, ideas or change of mind, Ron is always there to work with us, responds to calls, msgs 7 days a week. He managed his team very efficiently to move the project along quickly while working on more than 10 projects at the same time. Ron is also willing to help in whatever way possible, often outside the project scope. I had a small tree that I wanted to cut since it is right next to the house. He brought his saw and after 3 broken blades, he cut the tree down by himself! We really appreciate that! It was a wonderful experience working with Ron throughout, he would be our choice for any future renovations!

We had construction for a 2500sq ft addition at our home that started the fall before covid and ran right into it. What a stressful time for everyone! Couldn’t imagine doing the project with anyone but Ron and his crew. From initial planning of the project, inevitable adjustments to getting through the adjustments needed for covid. Ron was very understanding, patient and helpful. His crew included Oleg, who contributed valuable ideas and designs. Jay his plumber was great and helped with so many small details. It is rare that anyone is happy with their GC but we are glad that Ron is that exception. We found Ron on Houzz, and recently completed an extensive renovation with him and his team including exterior façade, complete layout change of the 2nd Floor, 4 bathrooms, floors, paint, windows, etc. Ron shows extraordinary organizational skills coordinating a 6 months project involving 8 or 9 different trades. He was fast and accurate with his quote, was efficient with the city permits, we started construction within 2 months after talking to him for the 1st time, and we completed the project on schedule. Ron is reasonably priced - not the cheapest out there, but he also won't nickel and dime you on every little thing. i.e. we ran into a problem on the exterior siding, and he was able to accommodate a small design change. He aims to deliver a quality result that satisfy our needs - i.e. he reinstalled custom moldings for us when we brought up the stock molding that were installed initially didn't match the rest of the house. When he does charge extra for an upgrade, he is transparent and reasonable. We feel that Ron has helped us make smart decisions and avoid costly mistakes. Throughout the project, Ron has shown that he is honest, competent, responsive, loves what he does and takes pride in his work. He will certainly be our first call for renovation in the future.

Ron has been really wonderful. I had to make a number of changes from the original plan, and Ron was so patient and understanding all along the way. We hired Ron Mayne for a home refresh project involving full interior painting, new hardwood floor installation, kitchen refresh etc. Ron helped us walk through the various steps of the project and helped us avoid costly mistakes. I found Mayne Construction while casually browsing on Houzz one day after we decided to renovate our kitchen. As soon as I contacted them, Ron immediately got back to me and was at the house and discussing the project within 48hours. He has an eye for what the finished product could look like and gave us several options to choose from within our budget. We decided to open up our kitchen, which required taking down a load-bearing wall holding up my second floor. He quickly got his engineer and kitchen designer to work. We had a plan in place within a couple of weeks, and permits were submitted. As soon as the permits came in, his crew was at work - he has the best guys for everything - structural, sheetrocking, electrical, tile, cabinets, and best of all, they work in harmony! In the end, we had a 24-ft iron beam inserted into the ceiling, another 8-ft beam in my basement to carry down the load, and a kitchen that is absolutely spectacular with two-tone cabinets. Thank you to Ron and his crew for a fantastic work/experience. Mayne Construction is our "go-to" company for all renovations.

Ron and his team (Wilson electrician, who we’ve hired again for lighting projects; Jay for plumbing, Walter for tile installation and Carlos) ensured a seamless renovation of our home with keen attention to detail. The craftmanship of his team is superb. Besides being a skilled and knowledgeable general contractor, Ron is great with design and enhanced the outcome of our project. One of the best aspects of working with Ron is his ongoing communication, engagement, and accessibility throughout project. I’d hire him without hesitation.

Ron is the real deal, a true professional who will take the time to understand your project goals, bring in the right experts to get the work done, immediately address issues or concerns, and bring your project vision to life. I had been planning a main bathroom remodel for about a year and was ready to begin work in early 2021. This remodel was a down to studs and sub-floor remodel moving fixture locations and dividing walls and building a new bathroom from the base up. Ron is a busy guy in demand and we arranged to begin the work in the Summer. I took the extra months to purchase fixtures, tiles, and specific material ahead of time (which was a great decision since supply chain issues made things in short supply by the Summer). When the work began, Ron and his team engaged fully and hit the ground running!! He lined up the right people to be on site at the right time to keep the project moving along. The only downtimes throughout the whole project was when we needed to wait a day or two for unexpected material to come in. As an example, when I wanted a tiled arched alcove above the shower bench, Ron used an expert finish carpenter he knew to frame out the whole unit offsite and brought it in for his team to install allowing other work to continue onsite during the week. Ron worked with my tile and countertop suppliers when deliverables seemed to be slowing to ensure we were high on their priority lists. Whether it was his demo/rough team, the plumber, electrician, tile master Walter, or Carlos and the finish team; they were professional, skilled, fast but careful, and took the time to talk through my many, many, many questions, comments and ideas throughout the process (I was working at home and would check on things hourly). While Ron trusts his team to operate without him onsite, he visited frequently, and without fail would return texts and calls immediately or within a few hours at most including nights and weekends. Any questions, concern or idea was listened to, taken seriously, and acted upon immediately if we agreed on a new direction. At the end of the project, my year of planning and ideas was brought to life. Everything I dreamed of was created with the highest workmanship. The only time Ron said "I wouldn't" was when something I asked for would violate code or when it wasn't possible without sacrificing quality or functionality of the end result. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend or use Ron again for detailed and complex projects. While you may need to wait for a slot on his schedule, once you have him, he'll deliver everything you want!! Thanks Ron!

Ron and his team converted three bedrooms into a master suite (bedroom, closet, bathroom) in our 200 year old farmhouse. Everything came out fantastic. His team knows how to handle antique houses with all of their quirks and has a team of experts to work on each aspect of the project. Ron is super responsive and checks in quite frequently to make sure everything is going well and that we were happy. 5 stars isn't enough for the great work he's done!

Ron and his team came to the rescue when my yoga studio had new vinyl floors put in incorrectly by a dishonest local contractor who left gaps under the floors, mismatched, unsealed shoe molding and left the job with some of the flooring coming undone and caving in and after being called out on the obvious mistakes and safety issues the original contractor refused to fix it! It was a nightmare! Thankfully, Ron knew exactly what to do and even had the materials in his truck to fix it! Understanding how important the safety factor is for level floors in a yoga studio, he had his team come in and access the situation and within the span of half a day the floors were completely fixed! Not only that but his incredible team sealed, painted and fixed the shoe moldings the other contractor screwed up and they were meticulous! Not a drop of paint on the floor, the studio was cleaner and more professional looking after they left! I wish I had known they could do floors I would have gone with them in the first place. From now on I will absolutely go to Mayne Construction for any future renovations or projects that I need handled - perfectly- professionally and in a timely, efficient manner! We hired Mayne Construction to repaint the exterior of our home and to remodel our kitchen and laundry room, which included removal of a wall between the dining room and kitchen and extending our laundry room into an existing closet and butlers pantry. From the very beginning of our project, we were incredibly impressed with Ron's responsiveness. He was always quick to respond to texts and phone calls addressing our questions or concerns. He works with an incredibly talented team, who were also very responsive, impeccable, and trustworthy. Our project turned out absolutely beautiful and exactly what we had envisioned. We will definitely be using Ron and his team again for future projects.

We used Ron and his team for a kitchen gut renovation in Fall of 2020. I have intentionally waited until now to review as I wanted to provide a complete review that included any long term issues. Overall the kitchen came out great and we are very happy. Having done some renovations in other homes, I always look for effective communication, which is he foundation for a smooth construction process. In this regard Ron is truly amazing. He answers the phone 80% of the time and the other 20% you get a text within minutes letting you know when he will call you back. We even had some good laughs with his 'text to speech' replies. We had neighbors doing some renovations at the same time and we would hear stories of them going days without hearing back from the contractor and their frustration at the process. We had none of that stress and aggravation. As always, we had some unexpected obstacles, especially as covid was starting to really hit CT, and his team was always willing to put in the extra time and effort to solve the issues in a way that made us happy. He never rushed us with any decisions or discussions and even though he had several jobs at the time, we always felt that he was there for us. I am a hands on person and I was more in his business than I imagine he has had before due to working from home for covid. I know I probably annoyed the hell out of him with my endless questions, but he took the time to explain things. He is also a good person and we got to know him and his crew very well. Now we are approaching a year since the project was completed and Ron is still responsive if we need something, and the kitchen looks better than we expected. I would only use Ron with any project.

Ron and his team have done a fabulous job with my project. Over the past year we have done a complete exterior renovation to my mid-century modern home in North Stamford. I replace more than 17 windows and doors to more energy efficient ones. We also added 2 1/2 inches of exterior insulation and replace my outdated clapboard with new japanese style shou sugi ban wood siding! As an architect I really appreciate collaborating with a builder who understands details and high craftsmanship standards. Ron has been absolutely incredible to work with from day one. He transformed our powder room into a full bathroom. Ron helped with the design (and gave us multiple options), worked with us to understand how best to utilize the space and made the process simple. Ron has tremendous knowledge and a calm demeanor. He is a great person as well as a great contractor. When something I ordered didn't come as expected (100% my fault), Ron stepped in to offer a solution. All of the tradespeople that Ron sent to our job site were top notch. We highly recommend Ron - he is, by far, the BEST contractor we have ever worked with.

I've completed many construction projects over the years, but working with Ron was the best experience I've had with any general contractor. We knocked down a wall and completely gutted and remodeled our kitchen. First and foremost Ron communicates back with you promptly by text or phone. If there is an issue or problem that occurs (and there always are - Murphy's law) Ron is on it and he or one of his subs is there to come back and fix the problem. All of his subs that we interacted with - carpentry, windows, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, flooring, tile and painting did a first class job. Ron is detail oriented and there's no cutting corners. His subs all love him because he's a good guy to work with. From a pricing standpoint Ron's pricing was not the most expensive but also not the cheapest, but definitely worth it. Our finished kitchen is gorgeous I would use Ron again for another project in a nanosecond.

Additionally, all the subcontractors on the job were total pros. We couldn't be happier with our new and much improved garage. We will definitely be using Mayne Construction again!

Ron has earned our trust over the several decades that we have called upon his expertise for various repairs and upgrades to our unique, architect-designed home. He is organized, efficient and honest, and he made sure we were totally satisfied. The recent work included roof and gutter replacement, window replacement, siding repair and paint, and a new deck. I struck gold in finding Ron Mayne. I can recommend him without reservation. My 1952 ranch was in need of a make over after storm damage. My project was delayed several times due to revisions in scope, cost and building permits. As I searched for design and products several people mentioned his name and reputation. Meeting Ron did not disappoint. It is my experience that Ron Mayne is a rare find. He commits to you and your project. He oversee's all aspects of the job and his workers. He will come up with solutions to the many problems that will arise. He will not only give you options, he will look out for your best interest and be completely sensitive to your budget. Ron is highly experienced and can recommend the best. He is knowledgeable without attitude, and available on call. His crews are hardworking, fast, considerate and highly skilled. Last week I had 22 windows installed and trimmed in a day and a half. My best advice: Be Careful when you select a contractor. The construction industry is experiencing major delays and rising costs in materials and overbooked subcontractors. I had already gone through 2 signed contracts with two others before meeting Ron. Fortunately for me the project fell through before work began. Working with Ron I have already saved tens of thousands of dollars. I have expanded my project and will post a final review upon completion. Color me happy.

We can’t praise Ron Mayne enough for the uniformly high quality of the renovations his team completed at our house, and—not the least—the ease (and genuine pleasure!) of working with them all. The context: we bought a large house that had good bones but had not been well-maintained. And (of course) once we took ownership, problems were uncovered beyond those identified by a very thorough inspection. Over the decades in other properties we’ve owned, we had prior experience with manys contractors on projects small and large—including rebuilding a home after a devastating natural disaster. So we knew the odds: we were hopeful (but braced to be frustrated) when we signed up with Mayne Construction. There was no reason to worry! Ron helped us prioritize what to do, counseled us against some of our more elaborate ideas within the context of a thorough renovation and our budget and delivered on every component of what we agreed to. Once we signed our contract, Ron had his crew on-site within days, and coordinated their schedules masterfully thereafter. The pandemic, end-of-year holidays, and winter storms delayed delivery of key items and made it difficult for some members of the team just to get to the house. But Ron would simply redirect different aspects of the renovations and his crew to keep on schedule—so if the plumbers couldn’t make progress, the electricians or the painters or the floor-refurbishers would accelerate what they could do. There was no dead-time. Everyone on the project was responsible, highly skilled (and personable too). We were particularly pleased to observe a devoted team of colleagues who were given clear instructions, who were used to working together, who trusted each other’s professionalism and judgment, and who found solutions when site issues arose. The renovations were achieved on schedule and on budget. No unhappy surprises. When we had come up with unplanned additions to the project, Ron either suggested how we might save in some areas or came up with consistently fair adjustments that we could accept on the spot. Whenever decisions had to be made arising from infrastructure constraints that Ron and his team uncovered, consultations were as complete and time-sensitive as possible. No wonder the results were even better than what we had hoped for. Our home has taken on a new life thanks to Mayne Construction. Now that the work is done, how fortunate we feel to have found such an honorable, highly professional, knowledgeable, and genuinely caring partner in Ron Mayne, and the outstanding individuals who make up his team (with special ‘shout-outs’ of gratitude to Carlos, Sam, Antonio, Jay, and Wilson, and those who worked under them). They made our vision for our new home possible. We have one hesitation in praising them so highly in this review: we will probably have to stand in an even longer line to get them to come back, if we hope to undertake renovations in future. But they’d be worth the wait!

We hired Mayne Construction to oversee a number of important projects in our house, incl. a full master bathroom remodel, construction of a new master closet, a new mudroom and laundry room. We could not have asked for a better general contractor and, more importantly, a better person. Ron has a deep understanding of engineering and construction requirements; has surrounded himself with a team of excellent tradespeople; is well connected in the construction ecosystem (very useful for approvals, etc.); and is very hands on - he kept close oversight and quality control of the project and was on site at our home every day, sometimes multiple times per day. This gave us the confidence that the team always knew what was required and worked seamlessly in unison. Through this project, we have also had the good fortune to get to know Ron as a person and can say that he is a truly generous, caring and wonderful individual. Most professional really cares about his projects. We had a total kitchen/den and powder room Reno done 6 years ago its still looks amazing and we are so very happy with the total change in our house. As the project progressed we kept adding to the scope and Ron was so patient and flexible. He did a truly superb job! We looking to renovate 2 bathrooms this year and have of course called Ron.

We engaged Mayne Construction to work on a living room, dining room and bathroom renovation. Ron and his team were very professional and easy to work with. Our project included opening our kitchen to the family room which involved demolishing a masonry fireplace and installation of a steel beam. Ron’s ability to communicate and coordinate with the masons and engineer was paramount to its success. Ron’s team was very clean and the job was completed on time and on budget. I would not hesitate to meet with Ron as we are already in discussions with him on our next project.

We recently hired Mayne Construction to vinyl side our house, replace our front door, storm door, and install our new awning. Working with Ron and his team was a pleasure from start to finish. Throughout the entire process Ron was professional, responsive, and always accessible by phone or text and promptly addressed any questions we had. We especially appreciated how Leo and Louis would start on time and clean up everything at the end of the day. We are extremely happy with our new siding, doors, and awning and we highly recommend and would definitely use Mayne Construction for future projects.

The best choice I’ve made in 2020 was choosing to work with Mayne Construction. We worked with them to make our 1st floor wheelchair accessible and update the 2nd floor bathroom, and we’ve been extremely impressed by the high standards they set for themselves and their care for their clients. They know the code inside out. If a field change needed to be made, they always pointed out the required change and why. They also make sure that the home is not only livable, but beautiful. Jay (plumber) made sure we moved the pipes so they wouldn’t freeze. Wilson (electrician) arranged electrical fixtures to make life as smooth as possible. Angel (framer) did an excellent job in changing the structure of the house. Mirdan (cabinet maker) not only made our cabinets, but rescued an online furniture purchase. Walter (tiler) did an amazing job. Carlos (carpenter, painter) did a wonderful job finishing and painting the walls, refinishing the banister, and putting in all the fixtures. Antonio’s (flooring) patch job for floors was great. All of this would not have been possible without Ron Mayne. He is the linchpin that holds everything together and makes everything run smoothly. Working on this home together has shown me that I can trust Ron and everyone he recommends. I think that everyone who has a home improvement project should work with them if they can.

We hired Ron to do a project that consisted of some exterior and interior work as well as the chimney. He and his team did a great job and exceeded our expectations. He was very professional and very responsive during the entire project. He was very creative and collaborative throughout the process as well. He worked well with my wife who was the person driving the agenda. We are thrilled with the end result And we intend to hire Ron and his crew again. One thing to consider is that each invoice should have a different date and version number so we can keep things organised. We had multiple iterations so it’s important to keep things up to date. Ron is very detail oriented so the invoices were clear and concise as you would expect. Special shout out to Carlos and Osman who do great work and we appreciate his thoughtful and respectful approach. Important point, Ron and his entire team were very Covid friendly which was very well received and appreciated. No issues at all. Finally, Ron is a consummate professional and someone you can work with and rely on. Worth noting that the project came in on time and on budget.

So good, we brought them back for more! We decided to convert our garage to a finished playroom and knew immediately who to call. We couldn't wait to get Ron & his team back to complete the project for us. Again, they delivered on time, on budget & all during a global pandemic. Ron and his team demolished a load bearing wall between our living room and dining room to create one large continuous space. We are first time home buyers of an antique 1803 colonial farmhouse. His team is experienced in working on older homes and helped us modernize the space and bringing an open concept from vision to reality. Ron was incredibly responsive and professional. We recently hired Mayne Construction to remodel our hall bath and master bath. Working with Ron and his team was a pleasure from start to finish. Throughout the entire process, Ron was professional, responsive, always accessible by phone or text, and promptly addressed any questions we had. We especially appreciated how the team would start on time and clean up everything at the end of the day. We had some minor issues that came up with some plumbing that needed to be moved and delays (our fault, not theirs) with getting the right parts delivered and damaged pieces replaced, but Ron and his team handled it like a pro, advising us on the additional work needed and working around the delivery delays to make sure things were still progressing. We are very happy with our finished bathrooms, and would definitely use Ron and his team again for future projects.

They worked tirelessly with our architect, engineer and designer to make our vision a reality. Ron and his team are the absolute best. This was the first time we have purchased a fixer upper, and we were so nervous. We knew we had a budget that we could not go over and there were many things we had to do to the house to make it work for us. When we first met Ron we were so impressed. He brought his team in, including lead contractor, carpenter, HVAC, plumber - you name it - to see the house and give us the most accurate price possible and of course they were in and out in no time. None of the other contractors we met took the time to do this, so it was so very appreciated. Not to mention this showed us how efficiently they worked. Ron was so patient with us as we navigated this new experience. He took the time to make sure we were happy with every decision, answered all our questions and helped us make any changes right away. His subcontractors are amazing and they did exceptional work. Oleg (main sub contractor) was a diamond in the rough! His work was always so detailed and just beautiful. This was not planned, but he had to rebuild part of our stairs and did it all in one day. Of course, it came out amazing. Also, we had to do some work upstairs ourselves, and not once did they mind we were there. The house looks fantastic and more than we could have imagined and we love it. We plan to do some additional work upstairs and of course we will be calling Ron!

Ron was everything we could have wished for in a contractor. He was very hands on with us especially since we were out of the state for the duration of the repairs and made decisions as if it were his own home. He handled everything from adding to patching and everything in between. We found him on Houzz after an unfruitful and lengthy search/interview process. I would recommend and of course, use Ron for any future needs again in a heartbeat. You will not be disappointed.

I own a kitchen & bath remodeling company called Rose, the Kitchen Lady LLC in Westport CT, and we recently hired Ron to do the interior restructuring on a major (6 figures) home renovation in Stratford. It is a difficult and complex job involving the removal of load bearing walls, and Ron and his team are handling it with great professionalism. His work is top quality and he is easy to deal with, punctual and reliable, and he communicates clearly and effectively. A real pro.

Ron is one of a kind. Honest, fair, realistic, and effective. We had a pretty complex fireplace remodel from basement to chimney, with a number of unknowns across a variety of contractors (demo, heat, gas, framers, drywall…), and Ron’s advice was critical to getting the job done right. But the best thing about Ron as a GC is that when he calls the subs, they work with him, no questions asked, and resolves the grey areas. They all want to do right by Ron which is a sign of someone that is fair and competent. My wife and I highly recommend Ron, except of course, if we have more work to do, because the line to get him gets longer each day.

I am a retired opera singer living in the beautiful countryside in North Stamford for past 20 years. Last year in early March a terrible fire destroyed my house along with all my possessions. It was started by an electrical fire after a huge windstorm shook the area. Needless to say; it was one of the most devastating experiences of my life. My son, Adam, and I immediately began the task of picking up the pieces and figuring how to rebuild. Adam was familiar with Houzz and upon seeing the work of reviews of Ron Mayne, he arranged with Ron for us to meet with him and view some of the beautiful homes has a built and also to speak directly with past clients. I was immediately impressed by Ron’s warmth and compassion as I was in a particularly vulnerable state for months after the fire. Ron’s humanity and “mensch”-ness (a Yiddish term for a truly great person) made so many of the stresses of the rebuild go away. Ron worked my son and myself and began helping us build a team to make the enormous work of building a house a reality. He introduced us to the enormously gifted architect Stacey Keanny and to her Husband Bob; who represented our claim to the insurance company. Stacey and Ron met with us numerous times over the course of many months to plan and design the house. Ron went above and beyond what any other contractor would do both in the generosity of his time; his fantastic design and construction knowledge and ideas and as always; his personal warmth. He is clearly someone who cares deeply about the happiness of his clients. My son has not stopped raving about the quality of his subcontractors. He introduced us to the amazing Guida who runs Connecticut Kitchen and design. Who created my dream kitchen. His framing team led by Oleg, was always on time, their work was gorgeous and always with a smile. From our plumber Jay; to the electrician Wilson; to our HVAC people Sean; every single sub contractor who works with Ron is at the top of their field and incredibly easy to work with. The final product- this new beautiful house is beyond my wildest dreams. I know this review is quite over the top- but when you go through major construction it’s an incredible stressful time- in many ways the most stressful thing you’ll ever do- and to have met someone as good as Ron who’s also a nice and client oriented as he is, feels like winning the lottery. I cannot recommend Ron highly enough: if you’re smart you’ll call him and find out for yourself what i discovered. You won’t be sorry: I’m also very happy to speak with anyone who is considering hiring Ron; or wants to hear more about my experiences. Building a house from the ground up is the biggest construction project one can take on- and Ron actually made the process and experience enjoyable for us. How many people can say that when they’re done building a house?!

Ron & his team are absolute roses among thorns. After relocating to Greenwich I was ‘burned’ more times than I would like to admit, so I was gun shy to say the least! I learned about Ron by way of an acquaintance’s personal recommendation & thought I would give him a shot. I was cautiously optimistic. Now, I am SO GRATEFUL that I did! Ron and his team did a remodeling for our kitchen and bathrooms which was completed on time. We were most impressed by Ron’s personal attention throughout the project. He was in our house almost daily during the project to ensure that things were done properly. The end result was a high quality product that we love. My wife and I bought a fixer-upper and took on a gut renovation - everything but the foundation and load-bearing walls. Below are my concise and expanded reviews of working with Ron Mayne and his team of sub-contractors. I hope this helps you. Spoiler: they were absolutely terrific. Short-Review: If given the chance to start over, I'd go with Ron and his team of subs 100 times out of 100, and I'd ask them to take on even more of the project. Long-Review. Let me start by saying that (a) I am a skeptical person and (b) my experience with contractors (prior to Ron) in the past is not good. Ron's reviews, as you've likely seen, are incredible, but I was still uncomfortable given the size of the project. He put a great deal of energy into helping me feel comfortable about his approach and the sub-contractors he'd introduce to our home. I haven't seen this level of patience, tact and, really, consideration from someone in his profession at all in my life. And his team; Oleg, Vlad, Walter, Jay, Wilson, Sean, Antonio to name a few are all great people and great at what they do. We're so happy with our home and have each of them to thank.

We found Mayne Construction on Houzz, when our initial contractor fell through the day before he was supposed to start our Kitchen remodel (we had already started the demo and the cabinets, windows and appliances were ordered and had the electrician on retainer). Ron literally arrived at our home with-in 1 hour after contacting him. He was professional, straight forward and honest. We explained our situation and were stunned that they would be able to take our job and start the following week! We met Ron’s team of workers who are simply amazing. Oleg, Ron’s structural contractor and reviewed the plans. Oleg and team were fantastic. They have a great attention to detail and take pride in their work. Always on-time and they clean up daily. We installed hardwood floors and had them refinished by Antonio. He worked with me on creating the perfect stain to achieve the look I wanted. He did such a great job, they will be returning to do the rest of the house. Ron’s plumber, Jay has been fantastic with the movement of existing pipes to accommodate the design. The installation of sinks, convection steam oven, dishwasher and fridge went flawlessly. We are so pleased with Ron and his team that we will be hiring them for our three-season room project next year. Mayne construction has the best team of people and they have 5 star customer service!!!!

Terrific experience - intro'd by my architect. Needed motorized awning, and had been unsuccessful in previous efforts. Relatively small job. Ron came by a few times (before and after), intro'd an excellent contractor. Could not be more pleased. I'd use him again in a second and recommend him all day long

I found Mayne Construction on Houzz (never had used this site before) and hired the firm to install a new roof on my house and two accessory buildings. I could not be happier. Ron Mayne listened and answered all of my questions, was always accessible and very promptly responsive by telephone. He has excellent experience and knowledge. Mr. Mayne impressed me with his professionalism, straightforwardness and calming and personable style. I feel that he looked out for my interests, including my time frame, and he well exceeded my expectations. The project went seamlessly and came out beautifully! Ron did our home remodeling last year which was very well done and we were very happy with. Last week we needed a fix in the kitchen, we texted Ron and he was extremely responsive. He sent his plumber and he himself visited our home. It is a pleasure to work with Ron. Ron and Vladimir are exceptional! I would give them 5 stars for being; 1) punctual 2) knowledgeable 3) fair pricing 4) amazing customer service and attention to every detail 5) incredible craftsmanship with tile, floors, stone painting and vanities 6) extremely polite and respectful and an actual joy to have at home. I have done many projects in renovating my house over the past 15 years and was completing impressed with Ron and his team! Ron is an excellent, honest communicator and does everything he said he would do on the day he promised. He is honest in terms of scheduling time frame and no " extra" adds on unless approved. Ron has an incredible knowledge of home renovations as well as a wide pool of talent for any project. Vladamir (Ron's amazing bathroom expert) was an absolute joy to have at home my boys and dogs were happy to see him arrive happy and ready to work hard each day!! ( they were very careful to never let my 2 dogs as well ) They finished our bathroom remodel on time and at the cost we had agreed to. The craftsmanship of of the walk-in shower is incredible. Each tile was cut individually and looks amazing. He handles all parts of bathroom renovation, so no waiting for time for others to continue the project. Vladamir takes pride in his work and it definitely shows! They created a wonderful spa-like bathroom for my kids and we are so happy with the project. Once Vladamir is done there are no items left on the punch list as he triple checks and leaves every thing perfect! I would definitely use again and highly recommend them.

Review for Ron Mayne of Mayne Construction We began doing some renovations on a house that we own in Stratford Ct, we live in Europe! (who in their right mind renovates a house from another country?) What began as a “lipstick” project turned into a “down to the studs project”, and we found that we were very quickly over our heads. I asked a friend of mine who in the building business how does one go about finding a contractor who can deal with a house in Stratford, Ct while we live in Europe? His reply was: “Reviews, Referrals, Referrals and Reviews” I went on houzz looked at contractors in our area, and I came across Ron Mayne of Mayne Construction, LLC of Newtown Ct. I was very impressed with some of his past work, and his reviews were spectacular. Well, the reviews were spot on. Ron Mayne is spectacular in a variety of different ways. Ron has an easy-going nature that you can appreciate, but under that exterior is a man who works his butt off. As with most renovation’s, there were several issues that did not go according to plan. However, it was always the same pattern (and this is what really differentiates Ron from his peers) Ron, would tell me there were a few issues that did not go as well as we would have liked, BUT here are the solutions to those issues. Ron would basically inform me that there was a problem but really was not a problem because he had a solution. or several solutions and then he would ask me which direction he would recommend and why. Then we would discuss and make a decision. This is known as experience Ron has been a contractor for over 30 years so it would be a very rare thing to come across something, some issue that he was not familiar with in his career. Ron views problems as challenges and challenges are the foundation for solutions. When you hire Ron not only are you getting the benefit of his experience but that of his sub-contractors. Ron has some of the best guys doing work for him, his response to most if not all of my inquiries was “let’s take a look, I have a guy for that”. When the economy is going through a boom as it is right now. It is very very difficult to get top-notch sub-contractors because they are all busy with jobs. Ron has access to a tremendous pool of talent that I would have wasted a very large block of time trying to find. Also, Ron has personally vetted these people and only works with people whom he trusts to the work correctly THE FIRST TIME, and charge market rates. So, when you are hiring Ron not only are you hiring him to manage the process, but you are hiring his sub-contractors, his talent pool that he has personally vetted, who are accredited, and professional as he is. I also noticed that there seemed to be a team mentality among his sub-contractors who all got along very well, and obviously had worked with one another on several different projects. Ron not only manages the process but the people I have trouble visualizing things which can make me a nightmare to deal with. Ron was very patient with me and had an excellent way of explaining complex problems to me the layman, which I cannot overstate enough. Ron’s communications skills are excellent, keep in mind I only met him once for three days over a four-month period. ALSO as well as being a builder Ron was very good at identifying my style and once that was done he would make suggestions that would correspond to the aesthetic design or “look” that I was going for. The little things that made such a big difference: moulding, trim, colors of floor stains, lighting, and fixtures. He was very good at making suggestions for example: after realizing that due to dry rot an enclosed sunroom would have to be demolished and replaced, he came up with the idea of adding a deck that would extend the sunroom, and add recreational space to the back of the house as we had to tear it out anyway why not rebuild it and modernize it at the same time? In conclusion, I used Ron Mayne and you should too. The reasons that I used Ron initially were based on his reviews, and I really don’t think 5 stars is sufficient for Ron but that’s the highest on the scale that we are dealing with, so it will have to do. I would say that in retrospect here are the reasons I loved doing business with Ron: Professionalism, experience, easy going nature, extremely diligent, punctual, honesty, creativeness, problem solving abilities, aesthetic design, value for money, communication skills, access to the best sub-contractors and efficient use of my time and money. Those are my reasons for using Ron, if you do use him, I should think that you will find plenty of your own reasons for doing so afterward. Thank you, Ron, for managing this process. I would also like to thank the sub-contractors on this project. Jay for plumbing and gas, Wilson for Electrical, Oleg for deck and carpentry, Sam and Hercules for paint, Vlad for tile, Sean for HVAC, Leon -Siding, Gutters and Roof, and Roman for masonry work.

Disclaimer: This is part 1 of 2 reviews as our construction isn't completely done yet. We bought a pretty old & decrepit house -- while pregnant with our second child & knew we needed to find the perfect guy for the job who could see our vision through in a timely fashion & stay within the budget we had to do the project....enter Ron. I truly can't convey how happy we are working with Ron & his team. I knew from the first meeting with Ron that he was going to be our guy (our realtor actually said we'd be crazy not to go with him -- so she knew right off the bat too!!). He listened intently to every detail I noted as we walked through the house and explained our vision, patiently traded emails and texts to be sure that he was getting everything correct, waited while we worked through plans with the architect while always being available to field our questions & when the time came, he & his team were 100% ready to go on our project. It has been such a pleasure and a really great experience working with them. Ron is always a step ahead of the game -- seeing any issues and getting out ahead of them before they can slow down the project or cause a headache. He is available whenever I asked him to be & his guidance through every decision has been such a big help for us as first time homeowners. Oleg is phenomenal - he works so quickly and efficiently and his work is immaculate. I'm blown away every time I walk in the house at how much he can get done in a very short amount of time. Jay (plumber), Sean (HVAC) and Wilson (electrician) have all been great to work with as well -- great communication, excellent work all done in a timely fashion. Ron really takes the time to make sure everyone from client to subcontractor are on the same page -- which is something that I appreciate so much. My husband and I are so very happy that we went with Ron & his team and can't wait to see our dream house completed in a few weeks! Ron is the best! I met Ron the best way - from an excellent recommendation of a neighbor. He immediately understood our project - a buildout of part of our attic to a playroom - and provided plans and a cost estimate together with a timetable for completion. He delivered on all counts. But that is not the only reason I give him 5 stars. Ron kept me advised each step of the way, offering advise and options to the many details I had never considered and never seemed to run out of patience with my many questions. The guys that work for him and each of his subcontractors work like a team showing up on time, doing a good job and cleaning up after themselves. Finally, the room is finished and my girls love the space and I am delighted. On time and on budget - doesn't get better than that.

I hired Ron and his team to finish our walk up attic, including a shed dormer. Everyone was professional and a pleasure to work with through the project. He came in with specialists quickly to provide a competitive quote and did an amazing job setting my expectations for the project. He is very responsive, especially through text messaging and stopped by almost daily to see how things were going and to let me know what the plan was for the next day and rest of the week/project. I was starting this project while 9 months pregnant - Ron and his whole team were very understanding and sensitive to us having a newborn in the house, cleaning up daily, using drop clothes and informing me when and where there would be noise/dust so I could make sure to be in another part of the house. I couldn't have been happier with Ron and highly recommend him!

****More to come******* So this will be an ongoing review as I am in the midst of starting construction on a brand new house on a 3 acre plot of land in North Stamford. After a devestating fire destroyed our family house in March of 2018 we were totally overwhelmed with the question of how to rebuild, and more importanly WHO to hire as our general contractor. After looking at all the contractors I could find within a 50 mile radius of Stamford, I could not help but notice the dozens of 5 star reviews that Ron Mayne had garnered on this site. Having heard numerous horror stories about shady and unscrupulous contractors the reviews I read about Ron indicated he was a person of both great talent AND someone who was dedicated to serving his clients interests. I felt immediately comfortable and hopeful (for the first time since the fire) upon speaking with Ron on the phone. His evident knowledge and experience was apparent but what struck me was the compassion and desire to help our family navigate the complicated waters of home construction. the first thing Ron did was recommend a gentleman named Bob Keaney, Independant Adjuster, whos' job is to negotiate with insurance company and retrieve the biggest settlement possible for his clients. We were at an impasse with our insurance company and the initial offer from them was far below what was needed to rebuild. We had been misled by our insurance company to believe that parts of the home could be saved. Both Ron and Bob advised us that any part of the burnt out house that was kept would smell of smoke for years to come (this was also verified by additional experts that have since viewed the wreckage). Bob spent the next few months negotiating with the insurance co and we eventually recieved the full damages that we were entitled plus even more. Bob was well worth his fee! Ron also introduced me to one of the most fabulously talented and passionate people I have ever met, the architect Stacey Keaney. We were shown a number of beautiful homes up around Candlewood Lake that Ron had built and Stacey had designed, getting to speak with the owners who confirmed what we had read about Ron- we were dealing with truly genuine talented and honest people. This sealed the deal for us and we brought Ron and Stacey on board. The past months have been busy dealing with code and compliance issues with the city and designing the house. Stacey has been instrumental in designing a house that was both beautiful and emminently functional- A 3 bedroom, 3 bath. Her knowledge of what's in fashion and what to keep from more traditional designs has helped create a home I cannot wait to live in. Ron was present at many of the design sessions and offered invaluable technical ideas to the drawings in progress. Ron personally took us to pick out tiling, flooring, and fixtures and introduced us to numerous crafts people including an arberist, his masonist, his talented foreman. I could tell from the quality of these people that Ron only works with the best in each field. Ron has gone above and beyond to date with his work at city hall meeting with inspectors, filing paperwork and staying on top of all the details that I had no idea about. Ron is always two steps ahead of me and is incredibly proactive in reaching out to the various specialists as needed and showing up on site to oversee work such as a new septic tank, demolition and work on the home well. Its rare to meet someone where you say " this person has found their calling" but I have often remarked to family members that Ron is doing exactly what he was meant to be doing, because he obviously enjoys his work very much and is truly a people person. The fire was devestating for us but the miracle in this was that A) my mother got out alive with the aid of her dog and B) finding Ron and his associates Stacey and Bob. the experience thus far has been as stress free as possible. we hope to begin construction sometime in february and I will update this review as we go along but if the past is any indication I can trust this enormous project in the very able hands of Ron. if you are looking to find a top-notch contractor who brings both knowledge, honesty and excellent interpersonal skills to your job I cannot recommend Ron more highly. also, im happy to speak directly with anyone who'd like for an on the phone or in person recommendation of Ron- please just message me and we can set it up. Can't speak highly enough of Ron! He and his crew were professional, responsive, and truly cared about our roof project. We had contacted several contractors, Ron answered all questions and provided a fair estimate quickly. He did what he promised and got the job finished in record time with quality work. We had new windows put in 6 years ago when we bought our house. Unfortunately, the molding around the windows had already started to fail. Ron helped make a frustrating predicament into a quick, satisfying fix. His team was able to repair every window in the house and make it look even better than when it was brand new. Their attention to detail (e.g. priming cut ends prior to installation, extending flashing where needed) makes us feel cozy and safe again inside our house. So thrilled with the work of Mayne Construction. We hired Ron to rebuild part of our house after it was damaged when a pipe burst. My 85 year old mother asked me to find someone who would replace an exterior hatch cellar door that was rotting after being exposed to years of water exposure. Ron was recommended to me by a third party as someone who did quality work when installing hinged cellar doors. I contacted him and he came and measured my mother's door twice. When it came to ordering the door, he tried to take into consideration my mother's age and order a door with a larger opening, but was limited by the constraints of vendor products. I was impressed that he took my mother's age into consideration at all. After agreeing to a price, and installation date, Ron arrived and worked efficiently, was very polite, took my mother's old door pieces away, and replaced the cellar doors to above my mother's expectations. What I did not realize was that this was a "small job" considering the scope of his business and appreciated that he took the time to take this on. Yesterday, I met with a general contractor, Ron Mayne of Mayne Construction. He and I are working on a sizable project on Candlewood Lake. Anyway after our meeting, I was very impressed with him because he has many positive qualities that are rare to find in today's business climate. First and foremost, he is a great communicator and a "people pleaser." In fact, when I called him and asked if I could meet him out at the project he was appreciative of the call. I could tell that he thought that it was a good idea and he agreed to meet with me the very next day. He personally reviewed center lines as well as overall dimensions with me so as to avoid any future mishaps. Likewise, we talked about light switches and venting of the hood so that we would not have any surprises on the back end of the project. It is rare that you meet someone in that field that is that thorough so as to avoid costly change orders in the future. I am very impressed and believe that you ought to consider collaborating with him on your project. His customer's rave about him and I can see why. I strongly encourage you to meet with him if you have any future projects coming up. I found Mayne Construction after searching Houzz for a local contractor to repair a bathroom leak. The entire bathroom was demo'ed and repaired. Ron and Andrew met with me on a Sunday to review the project and had a proposal back the next day. The project was completed on time and within budget. The only change orders were owner requested change orders and they didn't miss a beat handling them. They were very easy to communicate with and we mainly used text messages to stay in contact throughout the project. They had no problem picking up all the materials from the suppliers. The majority of the work (tile) was handling by Walter. He is extremely hard working and has great attention to detail. Highly recommend Ron, Andrew and Walter.

Ron spent a considerable amount of time reviewing numbers with the city to make sure that we wouldn't be required to raise the house. Fortunately, we were able to repair rather than raise. Twelve inch thick walls were built all along the inside basement walls, and a sump pump was installed. Ron was especially easy and nice to work with. I liked him very much personally as well as professionally. The job was done beautifully, and I would urge anyone to hire him with complete confidence and comfort. Most recently Ron Mayne/Mayne Construction completed custom built-ins (bookcases) in our twins rooms, which look beautiful and really transformed the rooms. We have previously used Mayne Construction for the conversion of an original screen porch to a 3 season room (french sliding doors w/transom windows above), as well as for a complete basement finish. Ron has always brought good suggestions to the jobs and, above all, has been very easy to work with.

Floors, bathrooms, kitchen countertops, painted walls & ceilings, you name it. He had six weeks to get the house "move in" ready. Our move date (June 25) was non-negotiable and true to his word the house was in beautiful shape on the day we needed it. He provided valuable design insight all along the way and unlike every other experience we've ever had with general contractors, Ron was either on the phone with us every day or communicating via text and/or email. Ron did an update for our small master bathroom. They installed tile floor, tile wall for the shower, bead board, new plumbing elements, and the new vanity. I highly recommend Ron and his team. He will take care of you on price, and do a really good job." We followed his advice and hired Ron to frame and finish all the exterior work for our second story addition. They proceeded to rip the roof off in a morning, and then have us closed back in with the new addition ten days later. I was amazed. His crews did a beautiful job on the framing and the exterior finish work. They were focused on getting the job done right, instead of just getting it done as fast as possible. Given it was winter, I would have been obsessed with speed. Instead, they were obsessed with building it to match the drawings. It was great. The inspector said of their framing work, "I wish everyone in town did it like this. I'd like to show a couple guys this work." Everything is square, level, plumb, and built to specs or better. I couldn't be happier. One of our neighbors said, "They completely transformed the house. It is beautiful. You would never know it was the same house." That was the goal. They then asked for Ron's number for a project at their house.. Ron's quotes were very reasonable, and he never asked for more money. He is extremely professional and is a man of his word. I highly recommend him to anyone thinking of doing a house project.

Transform a large elevated open deck into a 23 x 13 year round room with cathedral ceiling, sky light and additional custom glass features and integrate the addition to the existing room. Include HVAC, full insulation, hardwood flooring, plumbing revisions, electrical services, sheetrock/taping, painting and deliver the finished package for under $72,000. Ron Mayne and his talented team of experts in their field did the building of our addition with clockwork precision. We thank Stacey Keaney of Keaney & Co. for her excellent design and that she highly recommended Ron Mayne for the job. By the way, the work was performed during the winter months of January and February 2016. Ron Mayne was always present, making sure the work performed was exactly as specified. Everyone worked as a team and we were impressed by their abilities and professionalism. You will find that Mayne Construction does not cut corners, listens to what you have to say and only wants you to be totally satisfied with the final result. I can't think of a finer gentleman, knowledgeable builder than Ron Mayne and we highly recommend him.

I found Ron through his reviews and postings on my favorite house design website, Houzz.com. Thank goodness I did. Ron was local and had great reviews. A huge factor I appreciated most of all with our renovation is that Ron quoted me a price and stuck to it even though after opening some walls, things changed, as they usually do. I needed to pull up a washer and dryer to the 1st floor from the basement and added a "dog shower." Ron was so patient as I changed design ideas throughout the process. Ron can do it all. His tile work was excellent and the bead board he suggested to put up was a beautiful finishing touch on the renovation. As a mother of 3 young kids in the house, Ron always made sure the work area was safe and he cleaned up every day. Ron was excellent with communication and was easily accessible throughout the project. I felt comfortable asking him for help on little things throughout the house too and he always helped. Ron was a pleasure to work with and he is such a humble and caring person. I felt like I have known him for years. Since moving into our new house, we have many more upcoming projects to tackle. Ron Mayne built a beautiful 6500+sf house for us in Darien CT. Not only was the work professional and of the highest quality, Ron's calm demeanor and flexibility help tremendously through a challenging process of endless decisions and trade offs. He understood my needs to make sensible economic decisions while catering to my wife's ever evolving aesthetic choices. The project was completed on time and within budget. The best testament of his work quality is that It has been ten years since we completed the house and we have had minimum problems. We love the house and are most grateful for Ron's help in building a dream house.

Ron Mayne is by far the best contractor in this area! We have had several experiences with house additions and he was by far the most professional, responsible partner to do a large project with. In December 2004 we decided that we needed to add to our 1600 square foot home as we had a baby due in July that same year. In our interviews with contractors we had hoped to find someone who would do a good job and at the very least be someone we could tolerate through a large project. Our expectations were reasonable and realistic, considering all the nightmare stories you hear about contractors and projects that turn into disasters. However, in our dealings with Ron our expectations have been exceeded and then some. My wife and I felt that Ron was a perfect match for the project and it turned out we were right. Basically we broke ground, demolitioned the old part of the house on March 7th and for all intensive purposes Ron re-built the entire house plus addition with carful craftsmanship in 4 months! His crew worked from sunrise to sunset to meet our looming baby delivery date. The roofers and plumbers were meticulous. His interior crew was amazing. Overall the entire speed of the job was unbelievable and the workmanship never took a back seat during the project. His attention to detail made the project a success and was able to match the antique home with the newly built- perfectly. My wife was thrilled. Ron was super helpful in helping to pick out tile, fixtures, you name it. Nothing was too small for him to get involved. Living through an addition of that size is a daunting experience, especially when you are living in the house during the project in 2 rooms. Ron made the situation as comfortable as possible and was always polite and patient with us. He was never too rushed or busy answering all of our questions. He treated us like a good friend and valued customer and we will always be grateful for that. Somehow, someway the house was near completion with just a punch list by mid July. It was incredible that they met the due date and we were able to comfortably live there with our new baby. In the end, a project we hoped would go well back in March turned out to be a "dream come true" addition and his kindness and good nature became an inspiration to us. Ron did an amazing job with an addition on our house a few years ago. He and his crew were very professional and the costs were appropriate. He helped us go through zoning and always was reasonable with change orders or if anything arose. He wrote a thorough contract and followed through with all aspects. Even after completion he is always rapidly available for help! We would use him and his team in a second!

Ron Mayne recently completed a roofing project for us and we are very pleased with the result. His crew did an excellent job, using high quality materials to not only weather-proof our roof but also to update the look of our 1960's colonial. They altered the roof line as I requested, fixed "mistakes" made by another contractor and brought our house into the 21st century. It looks great, was done within budget and on time. One of the best things about Ron is that he communicated constantly - answering all my questions, letting me know when workers would be here and when they could not be. I always knew what to expect. We have already asked for estimates for other projects - that says it all.

Being a mom of two small children, I usually don't write reviews, however the work and service excellence of Mayne construction (Mr. Ron Mayne himself) deserves it!It's almost midnight on a Saturday, here I come ;)My hubby and I recently bought a beautiful colonial with a desperate need for several updates and some tlc. Ron went above and beyond to make the process as smooth and easy on us as possible. He would shuffle his schedule around to accommodate ours, he brought in his excellent electrician, saved us money on recommending places from where to buy material and when we found out that our friends would come visit he worked long hours, weekends included to finish all work before their arrival.Ron remodeled our powder room and part of our kitchen. Did the plumbing, painting, tiling, ...Once I saw how friendly and handy he was I quickly got him involved in several other jobs (gutter repair, stone step repair, drilling a new deadbolt, even furniture assembly, the list just goes on).You would never know that this guy runs a construction company, building million dollar homes. He's so humble and down to Earth that after a day or two it feels like a friend came over to help out.At the same time he holds himself and his work to very high standards. He may leave his jacket behind but he never forgets to sweep the floor after he's done. We have employed Mayne Construction for several jobs over the past four years, and we cannot recommend Ron Mayne and his crew highly enough. We first met Ron when he was referred to us by our electrician. We were getting bids for repair of the siding on our house, and Ron's estimate was by far the best--we ended up saving a lot of money by going with him, and the work was high quality and completed in a timely manner. Since then, we have used Mayne Construction for a wide variety of projects, most notably the rebuilding of our yard shed/pool house that was destroyed during Storm Sandy. Another successful project was paneling replacement and ceramic tiling of our basement floor after being dug up for waterproofing. We truly appreciate that Ron is so accessible--I know that I can call him day or night for any project big or small, and in fact, he and his crew have helped us out in several emergencies. After Superstorm Sandy flooded our house there was a great deal of work facing us, including elevating the house. An architect highly recommended Ron Mayne and that was truly our lucky day. Ron and his crew managed the entire project, an enormous task. They were professional; they took great care with our personal belongings; they left everything clean and neat; and most importantly, they were meticulous about communicating promptly with any issues and any changes to the budget. We would not hesitate to recommend Ron and would certainly use him again. Later we had to replace our detached garage, also damaged by flooding. As my husband is an artist we wanted to add much-needed studio space while keeping the garage. Working with Ron we finally arrived at a terrific solution. Ron and his team then demolished the old, removed a huge tree whose roots were a problem, then built a marvelous structure. Once again, Ron was mindful of our budget and quick to communicate about materials, issues, or changes while staying true to the design. Renovating an 1835 post and beam barn had it's challenges. The house hadn't been touched since the mid 60s so this was a top to bottom update. I had the best experience working with Ron Mayne and his crews. With Ron's help we kept within my budget and timeframe. We worked together to bring in the new without sacrificing the old world charm. He and his crews tackled all sorts of projects, like tearing down and replacing the Great Room ceiling, adding walls, opening up doorways, floor refinishing, matching barn board, building a family room, replacing old windows, gutting and refurbishing bathrooms, as well as creative flourishes....he built my stove exhaust hood because I couldn't find one that fit and he framed a mirror for the powder room out of some old wood we had lying around. And after all the stress of remodeling, (did I mention that I was living in the house during this?), we became friends. I look forward to the day I can work with Ron on another project!

My husband and I didn't look far for a contractor who would meet our needs. I heard about Ron through a friend who recommended him highly to do our basement. Ron and his crew knocked down walls, put up drywall, recessed lighting, installed new floors, stairs, and painted! Each time we visited our basement it was a transformation. Ron really took his time to ensure that everything was done correct. It's clear he takes a lot of pride in his work! One of the many things that we were pleased with after the renovation was complete was how the room looked more open, airy and inviting. For a basement that was exactly what we wanted. We were extremely pleased with the work done by Mayne Construction. Ron, the owner was very accommodating to our schedule and completed the work when promised at the quote that was given which was quite fair. He turned an extremely dated powder room into a beautiful welcoming showpiece. He also did smaller jobs including building a beautiful beadboard headboard in our guest bedroom and turning a little alcove in our den into a nice bookcase. His craftsmanship is superb and he is a very versatile contractor. Ron is efficient, knowledgeable and meticulous and takes pride in his work. He respects the owner's home and at the end of his time each day leaves the home completely clean of debris and dust. His demeanor is extremely pleasant which makes it very easy to work with him. Ron listened to our needs and made suggestions based on his expertise which in the end were in our best interest. We have received numerous positive comments on the work Mayne construction did in our home and we would highly recommend him.

With a sketch pad in hand and his trim carpenter, we were able to transform the home into a real showplace. 15 years ago, Ron and his crew did a terrific job in building a two story addition to our house. We were impressed with Ron's ability to translate our initial ideas (written on a napkin!) into a workable, 1st class design. His perfectionism in all phases of the construction yielded a solidly built addition.
