What a pleasure to work with Mike and his crew. We had a simple porch and front window remodel, along with some minor repairs throughout the house, and updating the front fence. We're so extremely pleased with the extra attention to detail, as well as Mike's suggestions for little improvements along the way. These details seemed small, but made a huge impact on the overall project. His contractors were respectful and pleasant. He was always in communication with us. We HIGHLY recommend Select Builders.

I've been fortunate enough to work with Mike from Select builders and his crew on quite a few projects over the years. On each and every one, the attention to detail is second to none. We have just moved in to our completely remodeled condo and are thrilled with the work of Mike Mastrobattista and the fine craftsmanship of the subcontractors he chose for this job. A project of this magnitude, duration and expense has the potential of being stressful and certainly problems are expected along the way. We can honestly say that with Select Builders as our contractor, the entire process was a pleasure and every aspect of it went smoothly, without a single stressful glitch. The project was completed ahead of schedule and within budget. Beyond his obvious competence as a contractor, Mike is the nicest and most responsive contractor we’ve ever worked with, after several remodels at other properties. Working collaboratively with our designer, Mike was willing to make adjustments to the plans when quirks of plumbing in this old building were discovered and when we had minor changes of heart. We are detail-oriented, hands-on owners but Mike’s attention to detail on the project surpassed our own. He is honest, creative, and a true pleasure to work with. We were also impressed by the fact that subs on our job had all worked with Select Builders for years – a sign of a good boss and experienced craftsmen. The building manager and building engineer at our high-rise condo complex also have the highest praise for Select Builders. They have worked with many contractors over the years on remodels in our building and have said Mike is the best, most responsive, easy to work with and, most important, trouble-free for them. We wish there were six stars to give to Select Builders!

This project involved a bathroom remodel, replacement of a french door, and construction of a pergola. SB's owner and and job supervisor gave us excellent planning and design advice, provided a clear explanation of possible issues, and delivered an excellent product at the contract price. SB's on-site staff were always timely, courteous, and professional in their dealings with us. When we identified a problem, they made certain our concerns were addressed. We have used SB in the past, and we expect to use them again.

My experience with Mike M. and Select Builders could not have been more positive. We started with a small remodel on a vacation home and soon discovered that there were serious structural problems that had to be remedied. Mike went out of his way to present alternatives and ways to economize without compromising the project. He wound up doing design work to maximize the space and utility of a small kitchen and laundry room adjoining a small bathroom and utility room. He moved a wall and door and made the entire space much more attractive and useful. He recommended a paver patio and entry way that came out beautifully and gave us much more room than we had before. Perhaps best of all, he corrected any problem that he found without us asking and he has followed up on little details even though the project has been done for weeks. We have worked with several contractors over the years and Mike is one of the very best. I recommend him without reservation.

As a designer, I have worked with Mike on a number of projects, large and small. His eye for detail, meticulous bookeeping, and desire to please the client make for a successful result every time. He is my "go to" contractor. I highly recommend San Diego Select.
