Sue worked with us on 3 projects and we have been very satisfied with the outcome on all of them! It is nice to work with her because even though she may have other projects going on at the same time, she showed dedication to ours:) Most of the team members she brings in are skilled, work hard and efficiently. As it can happen with any remodel projects, when things did not go right, they addressed our concerns in professional manner and worked with us to resolve them. Sue was great to work with. She is very knowledgeable and has great recommendations. She let me take the lead when I wanted to, but was always there with advice when I needed it. We did two bathrooms and they are beautiful. Everyday it is so fun to use them.

Sue Harrison came highly recommended from a friend who had just finished a large project with her. After working with Sue, we’ve already referred her to multiple friends, and I can’t say enough wonderful things about our experience with Sue. Scope: our project included an addition, expanding the kitchen and great room, adding a powder room, moving laundry in from the garage, adding an office, adding alcohol / wine storage, expanding a bathroom, re-doing existing bathrooms, moving some other walls. We did a new roof, new HVAC, all new windows (including window shapes), new wall texture inside and out, new paint inside and out, and new flooring. We started by telling Sue our “wants” for our renovation and expansion, and she did a visit and walked through the house with us to give us her suggestions and ideas. As a layout expert, she was able to tell us with confidence what we could and could not do with the space, and she really helped us optimize the square footage and make the house so much more functional for our needs. She helped us with the layout, and then we worked quickly with an architect she partners with to get the plans drawn and processed through the city. Storage was a big priority for me, and her What Goes Where exercise was incredible for our cabinet and closet storage needs. In addition to designing our cabinet and storage layout, Sue helped with so many small details like the lighting plan, what types of ceiling and decorative lights to get, etc. When it came to picking materials, Sue was so knowledgeable. She helped us determine which things were worth the splurge and which were not, and we have zero regrets over the choices we made. When it came to materials research and project coordination, we were able to get so much done efficiently with her help. There are so many tiny decisions along the way like drawer pulls, door handles, base boards, moulding, etc, and while other friends found themselves scrambling last minute for their contractors, we had everything chosen and lined up without a rush because Sue was able to guide us on the exact timing for everything. Of note, lead times are still variable. Sue has specific experts in each trade that she has great working relationships with, and it was great to have these vetted professionals (cabinets, tile, counters, flooring, electrician, etc). Having worked with them for years, Sue coordinated all the scheduling and communications. We had previously worked briefly with another designer who quickly racked up a $1500 bill in the matter of 1 week without being transparent with us about the work she was about to embark on. On the other hand, Sue was extremely reasonable with her billing, and every minute we spent with her was high yield and well spent. I will continue to recommend Sue to friends, and if we ever take on another project, she'll be the first person we call.

Sue helped us with the remodel of our home in Sunnyvale. We added roughly 600sqft and remodeled the existing 1200sqft home. Sue came up with the initial layout of the remodeled home and 3D visualizations which were very helpful. Prior to construction, Sue guided us with choosing all the finishes. This was incredibly helpful since we were dreading having to spend a lot of time making flooring, kitchen and bathroom finish choices. We did not always buy from the stores or the materials Sue recommended. But that not stop her from educating us about the choices most appropriate for our project. Sue kept us on our toes with respect to ordering windows and doors that have long lead times. Thanks to her our project did not hit any delays due to lack of materials. We really really appreciate her help during this phase. During the construction phase, Sue was key to keeping the contractors honest to their commitments on the contract. Sue is incredibly detail oriented and she puts her experience to great use to make sure that contractors do not miss/overlook any parts of the construction. I highly recommend Sue.

Sue was instrumental in helping us complete our house remodel (4 bedrooms, 3 baths and kitchen/great room area). We could not have done it without her! Her extensive knowledge of design, materials, form/function, vendors and contractors really helped us create a wonderful space that we are happily now living in. We started the process of remodeling without a designer and quickly discovered that we needed one! Luckily, our contractor recommended Sue and as soon as she came on the project things moved much more efficiently. She put us in contact with vendors and suggested materials that we were not able to find on our own or had considered. Our remodel evolved into a living space that was so much more than what we had originally envisioned thanks to Sue's expertise. We would highly recommend her to anyone!

Sue was instrumental in helping us get through a complex project. The first phase of the project was to get the new water heater relocated to the garage and furnace to the attic and move away from gas to electric. The next phase was to utilize the space for a half bath and remodel the hallway bath. She helped lay out the plan clearly, got wonderful vendors, architect and contractor to work with co-ordination so that we complete the first phase in 2 weeks and the second phase in 6 weeks. Her efficiency and knowledge helped us immensely throughout the project. Her project management is great and her interior design tips excellent. Her managing the design with vendors was so important and she managed everything behind the scenes with little trouble for us. She is excellent to work with.

Sue did a great job with our kitchen remodel. She was able to look at our original plans and point out improvements that have made a big impact overall with traffic flow, storage and looks. For example she suggesting an island instead of a peninsula. She understood which of our ideas would cause us issues with getting city permits so we didn't waste time. She would educate us on what to consideration for different materials -countertops, flooring, etc She has a great list of vendors she recommends that provided high quality materials. I would highly recommend Sue. We are thrilled with our new kitchen!

Vision Design did a wonderful job supporting us from start to finish through a big remodel. Sue helped us with everything from planning and design, to finding and managing engineers and contractors, and picking the right materials, appliances, and finishes. She has a great eye for functionality and detail. She always gave us her honest opinion, included our ideas into her designs, and gave us what we needed to make the final decisions. We remodeled 3 bathrooms, the kitchen, floors, windows, electrical, plumbing, moved walls, and built a new, much bigger deck. Without Sue, we would have been totally overwhelmed. She was responsive at all times, never lost her patience, and creatively navigated some supply chain related delays. She efficiently and effectively managed all parts of the process and moved everything along swiftly, while maintaining the highest quality at all times. We finished the project on time, and couldn't be happier with the result. I highly and wholeheartedly recommend Vision Design.

Hiring Sue Harrison of Vision Design is quite simply the only way to undergo a remodel. Sue has done two kitchen remodels for us in two different homes. Sue designs the space for optimal function and ideal ergonomics. She then manages the project using all her high quality craftsmen. The excellent project management results in a smooth remodel, with all the pieces lined up for an on time and on budget result. If and when glitches arise, she just deals with it. After having used Sue twice, I just wouldn’t ever consider doing a remodel without her. She’s the best! I know people sometimes think that paying a designer increases the overall cost. But in the case of Sue, she streamlines the project/process which ultimately saves time money and emotional anguish.

This review is long overdue. Sue is the best! She helped us with our whole house rebuild. Sue took the time to understand the essence of our style with simple questions and things we liked or disliked. With that she was able to interpolate everything else, and extrapolate where needed. All the while she was still listening to us and letting us control the project. She was simply ready when we needed her guidance. She guided us through our whole process from architect selection, to picking out windows, appliances, tile, cabinets, lights, floors, and stairs, and managed our progress throughout the construction phase. Sue pays great attention to detail, even designing our kitchen based on ergonomics and traffic flow for all individuals in our family. She called it the "where things go" exercise and she considered everything, especially the kids! Much of the planning happened even before we broke ground, which gave us a sense of confidence and was much appreciated. During construction, she also made sure everything ran as smoothly as possible and helped us through any snags that we hit. When COVID hit, she was great in helping us figure out the regulations and made sure we were complying as we moved slowly forward. We were very anxious at that point, but she eased the unexpected frustration. In the end we still finished construction in about a year, which is amazing! It has been about a year since we moved back in and we could not be happier with the end result of our project! Sometimes we sit around and marvel about how beautiful our new home is. Other times we sit around and say, "ah, this is why Sue recommended this...I'm so glad I listened to her!" We love our new home - it is beautiful, functional, and energy efficient! We owe much of that to Sue - thanks Sue! My husband says, "I would build another home with Sue anytime !!!!" We unreservedly recommend her - very worth it!

We just completed a kitchen renovation with Sue and are so happy with the result! We went into it thinking we'd get a nice kitchen, but I'd say we ended up with a pretty dreamy kitchen. Sue has an organized process and is full of good information. We'd recommend her to anyone needing design services.
