We was looking to change the color scheme in our stores, after meeting with Susan it was clear that she would point us in the right direction of where we wanted to be. Her professionalism, attention to detail, and vision of the entire project is second to none.

Sue came highly recommended and we worked with her on a remodel project for our family room. The entire room was renovated from the floor to the ceiling. We installed tile in a herringbone pattern, added lighting into the ceiling, and had bookcases built along with window benches, ect. The project turned out great!!!! We live in an older home and wanted to have a lot of architectural detail and Sue had the perfect plan. We plan to continue to work with her on future projects and would highly recommend her.

Working with Susan has been great. We purchased our 40-year-old home a little over one year ago. It was all beige. I asked for her help and we love the results. New carpet, paint and draperies. But probably the coolest suggestions have been in regards to our furniture. She took one look at my mother's 1960s dresser and said "That needs to go under your flat screen TV in the living room." It would never have occurred to us and looks AMAZING.

I thoroughly enjoyed with working with Susan on transforming our very outdated basement into a wonderful space for entertaining, media room and gym. Susan was very attentive to our likes and dislikes and designed the space to function the way we live. Susan is very professional, knowledgeable, and friendly. She is responsible about her clients budget and conscientious about spending wisely. The contractors that she brought in did excellent work and moved quickly through the project. We also had some bathroom remodeling on the main floor of the house and they worked with us to stage the work so that we didn't have too much going on at once. We are very happy with the new space and would definitely use Susan again.

We can't say enough good things about our experience with Sue. We came to her for help transitioning an unused and awkward space above our garage into a bedroom/ play area for our toddler son and are thrilled with the finished results - as is our son! Sue's approach, style and demeanor made her very easy to work with, and her talents helped us transform a few rough ideas into a functional space where our 4 year old loves to spend time. Her services are unique in that she offers much more than simply design consultation; Sue brought in a contracting team to complete the project and their quality of work and attention to detail was excellent from start to finish. She remained engaged and ensured satisfaction along the way. In addition, we really enjoyed seeking her expertise in other areas of our home as she provided guidance for other cosmetic updates (fixtures, paint, window treatments, crown molding, etc.). I contacted Susan after reading reviews and contacting one of her previous clients. Our project included a remodel and redesign of our entire first floor. Moved or built walls, new floors, cabinets, furniture, appliances, lighting, electric to gas, ect. Susan and her team were there for me every step of the way. We reviewd designs together and she answered all my questions and listened to any concerns. She is honest, and will let you if what you have in mind will actually work or look good. Listen to her because she is right! I had a few last-minute additions and her team didn't hesitate to complete those extra projects. We love this remodel! Every space on the first floor is now usable, comfortable and relaxing to be in. This was our first remodel in this home. What I learned was to be patient. Allow extra time for the remodel to be completed because many facets are out of your control. With patience comes Beauty. Working with Susan and her team produced a result that was far more than I would have hoped for. It's beautiful! We will be working with Susan again.

The first phase of our design project with Susan focused on the entire first floor of our 1977 ranch style house. For us, the primary goal was to achieve the best function of the existing square footage. Susan helped to accomplish this goal by designing elegant and highly functional custom built ins in the master bedroom, bathroom, and sitting room. Although our kitchen cabinets were already contracted before our hiring of Susan, she was eager to help us fine tune every detail of the kitchen to ensure our happiness. Susan introduced us to the most beautiful fabrics, lighting, soapstone, tile, wood flooring and paint. She encouraged the use of pieces we loved in the design. We used craftsmen that she trusted to give new life to our treasures and fit into a tapestry of color and texture that she envisioned. Our home has a timeless aspect. Susan calls it quiet strength. We think she is right. Phase two will be the downstairs. We know she will work her magic there also.

We worked with Susan on the renovation of our kitchen, creating a space which included a new kitchen, mud room, laundry room, and half bath. We are about an hour away from Susan, and used our own contractor, with whom Susan had not worked before. We ordered custom cabinets through Susan, using a custom cabinet builder near her, with whom she works regularly. The bottom line: our kitchen is beautiful. We love it. (It is well documented on Houzz: I don't know how to link to it, but it has grey bamboo cabinets with horizontal grain, and has been featured as part of Susan's work.) We have hired her again to work with us on our master bath renovation. Susan brought great design ideas to the table. She is very thoughtful when it comes to thinking through the way one uses each space, and we spent quite a lot of time working through details that might make a difference once one is working in the kitchen. (Sometimes I think she was more worried about this than we were! And we're pretty detail-oriented.) When it came time to choose materials, she presented us with a wide array of combinations from which to choose. This was great. She took into consideration the relation to the rest of our house, listened to our description of what we wanted, and showed us multiple great options. She also showed us multiple price points--she didn't just act as if our coffers were bottomless. The options were interesting and unique--it wasn't as if she had just picked the best colors off the sample wall at the local hardware store. So: she brought us things we would not likely have seen on our own, and she sorted through colors and styles to provide combinations that worked well together and complemented the rest of the house. I want to emphasize how great this was. Our contractor, who had not worked with Susan, was concerned before we started because sometimes designers will ask them to stop work until the designer is able to get to the site, say, to locate the light fixtures or whatever. We didn't have any of this. Susan worked with the contractor to establish this stuff ahead of time, and she always picked up the phone when I called when work was going on. (This isn't to say that she didn't pick it up other times--but she was super responsive when she knew they were working.) You won't believe me if I write that she's perfect, so here are my key areas for improvement: We had some timeline delays. Most projects do. One key delay was due to our flooring sitting in customs, and I can't blame this on Susan. But when I looked back on the project, we could have made some choices early enough to prevent some of the delays. Because I hired the contractor, project management fell more on my shoulders than it probably does if she does a local job. Ultimately the timeline was owned by multiple people. Could she have helped me to understand lead times better, and make earlier choices? Probably. On our next project, I will press Susan more to make choices and get things ordered as early as possible. The drawings for our kitchen were created by the cabinet maker and the GC. I would like it if Susan developed some sort of capacity to create drawings of her designs. Had we not ordered our cabinets through her, we would have had little to show for the design time she put in. So depending on exactly what you have in mind, make sure you have this aspect covered. In our new project, our contractor is creating the drawings first, so this is less of a worry. ---- I think her hourly rate is reasonable. I felt like this was a more transparent pricing model than the folks who sell you cabinets and "design for free". We talked to those people, and they seemed to "phone in" the designs. They all just stuck cabinets in spaces. When you look at what we paid Susan as a percentage of the kitchen, it wasn't a huge percentage, and without her we would have had a far, far less cool, unique, and functional kitchen. We found that the expense was well worth it. (Anyway, I am skeptical that the folks who hide their design fees within a larger scope charge a much different rate. They probably put in fewer hours. But ask yourself whether you want control over how many hours your designer thinks about your project.) Bottom line: we are very happy that we chose to work with Susan on our kitchen renovation. We have been living in it for 15 months now, and there isn't anything we would change about the space we created. We were happy enough that we have already started to work with her on a new project. We highly recommend her services.

I heard about Susan through Houzz. I decided to contact her because I loved her fabric selection in the reviews provided through Houzz. Susan is communicates and interacts in a professional manner. She is very knowledgeable about fabric and color selections. She is creative and her ideas can really pull a room together and make it feel personal and unique. She has selected fabrics, paint colors, and furniture for 2 of our bedrooms and made simple, yet significant changes in a third bedroom that just wasn't coming together but now looks fantastic.
