Ted Hindin, Landscape Architect

I have always admired Ted' s work. I remember seeing some of his properties highlighted on the Two River Garden Tour. So when we built our new home and the time came to choose a landscape architect, it was an easy choice. Ted asked me specific questions in order to choose the plantings I liked. He went into such detail, even discussing the what plantings I would be seeing and smelling from our sunroom. I was so impressed with the professionalism of his team during the install. Ted takes his work very seriously, he occasionally stops by to check on the plantings and see if I have any problems or concerns. Every season the plantings just keep coming back with new growth, and are continuely healthy. Thanks to Ted, I have a beautiful property, and get so many compliments. I have no doubt that I chose the right landscape architect for the job.

I have had the pleasure of working on projects with Ted Hindin annually for the last 30 years. Ted's classic designs and attention to detail are consistently beautiful and inspiring, I have had had Ted Hindin landscape my own home twice and have been very happy with the results each time, and have had numerous compliments and request for Ted Hindin's information by friends, family, and passers by.

Ted is a joy to work with throughout the entire process of landscaping. He listened to our desires and incorporated them in his design. He was patient and thoroughly explained every aspect of his plans. Each tradesman he suggested were masters of their craft. Every aspect of the job was done on time, for the quoted amount, and left in immaculate condition when finished. Ted was always there making sure the job was done as promised. Ted planned the landscape for our entire property and the results are breathtaking. Colors, balance, texture, flow, bloom times all combine to make our property beautiful and interesting throughout the year. Even though the job is finished, Ted occasionally drops by to see "how things are going".

We first worked with Ted in 2008 when he designed and built a raised brick terrace in our backyard. It transformed the backyard into a beautiful outdoor living space. His attention to detail in every aspect of this large project (masonry, irrigation, lighting, landscaping) was spectacular. We have since worked with Ted to rebuild a front entrance to our house, to re-landscape the entire front of our house and most recently to landscape our courtyard. In each case, he has come up with beautiful designs and executed them flawlessly--managing every aspect and thus making it enjoyable and worry free for us. We could not recommend him more highly.

Although I was given names of 3 landscape architects to bid for my total property of 1 1/2 acres, I hired Ted, my first candidate, without even bothering to speak to the others. Immediately I could see that he was a thorough professional, completely versed in his field and an expert on design. My home is a large Tudor, and I needed a keen eye to give the place an original, yet traditional look. Ted did more listening than talking originally, especially since we wanted to limit some of the maintenance and were concerned about deer resistance. He came up with a stunningly sophisticated plan with a great variety of plantings that flower progressively throughout the year. Our home is greatly enhanced by his vision As a business person, I cannot say enough about his thoroughness, candor, openness about all charges and commitment to following his work to the end. He came repeatedly to my property for the past two winters to check on winter wear. More importantly, he is a man of integrity. With such an extensive job, there needed to be replacements of plant material. He followed up on these unquestioningly and just recently replaced some plants that had not been doing well last year - without my asking for this. Ted is easy to work with, will answer all your questions patiently, will get back to your emails promptly and will be there for the follow up. He is a pleasant person, as well.

Ted Hindin was referred to me by another individual and my husband and I could not be happier. We are building a new home and the 1.5 acre lot was cleared so we were starting with nothing. Ted initially met with us to talk about our vision and our overall dream property. After the initial meeting, Ted came back with an amazing landscaping plan capturing our style, our vision and everything we wanted. Ted also suggested moving our driveway over several feet so that the beauty of our new home is captured as you approach it as opposed to just seeing the garages. It was truly brillant and we never would have thought of it without Ted. Ted is very thorough, professional, attentive to detail and communicates extremely well. We highly recommend him. We have since recommended Ted Hindin to three of our friends.
