Initially, I dealt with both Wyatt Jr. and Sr. They presented themselves professionally, and my husband and I were excited to enter into a contract with them. From the beginning, things began to go poorly. The house had to be moved, the lower level had to be raised, and the cost escalated! The drywall and painting was beyond sub par. We asked for eggshell finish. Not certain we got beyond primer. WAC has been out several times to fix problems with drywall on ceiling and painting. Sadly. we still have two tone paint and drywall tape coming off the ceiling, I have been texting Wyatt for almost a year, and still have not been contacted satisfactorily.

We hired WAC about 18 months ago to add a large covered porch, fireplace, and summer kitchen to our house. I will start out with the positives. Wyatt Sr. is extremely experienced and knowledgeable about renovations. He has an excellent reputation. The architect they use is also very talented. She came up with awesome ideas. The problem came when Wyatt Sr. handed the job over to his son Wyatt Jr. Things got off to a bad start when they tore the existing back porch off of our house and didn't come back for nearly a month. The next sub in was to be the bricklayer for the foundation. It turned out that he just wasn't available. This was a common theme for the rest of the job. We asked many times for a schedule or timeline. They would not provide one. Most likely there was no schedule at all. Throughout the project Wyatt Jr. needed to be reminded over and over about problems we saw. Example: They tore up our drain tiles from the roof and crawl space. It was important that they be replaced before the foundation was complete because they ran under it. I had to remind him 3-4 times about this and other similar issues. During the winter months they left the crawlspace without a door for several months. We were very concerned about snakes and rodents coming in. Jr. just ignored or forgot our request for weeks. When Christmas came they left the job site strewn with garbage and other debris. My wife and I spent the better part of a day cleaning it up because we had company coming. We ended up terminating the contract and finishing the job with our own subs. We have since come to find out that some metal bracing brackets required by the engineering drawings were never installed. The joints were all covered by trim and painted. I was forced to tear the trim off to get our final inspection completed. Bottom line... If Wyatt Sr. is going to do your job you will most likely be OK. If he turns the task over to his son, beware.

We met WAC at the Charlotte Home Show & immediately felt a personal connection. We had been trying for about a year to get started on our renovation of our circa 1963 Lake Norman home. We kept running into roadblocks & delays. Wyatt immediately got the ball rolling & before we knew it, we had an architect ( whom we adore- Ashley Jimenez) , plans, permits & the demolition started. We had a few weather delays, but had a wonderful experience & they even won an award for their workmanship & design. Our house turned out to be much more than we ever thought possible! We are thoroughly enjoying every square inch - a total transformation! It looks like a new build vs. a renovated house!

As our family grew, we needed additional living space and a dedicated home office. We performed an extensive search of contractors in our area that had the experience in remodeling and additions and Wyatt was our last interview. We were immediately impressed with the quality of work from some of their previous and current projects. We chose GAC based on references, workmanship and the fact that they were willing to work with our budget. The project went very smooth and the level of professionalism is second to none. Our addition is where we spend the majority of our family time and we could not be happier. Best of all the work was done right and you cannot tell that this was an addition to an existing house.

We hired WAC Contracting to build a 4,000 sq. ft. addition onto our existing 5,600 sq. ft. home This included three levels of new living spaces, partial kitchen remodel/expansion, additional garage, large workshop and second level balcony expansion. They also managed the entire outdoor portion of the project including a pool, outdoor living spaces with fireplace and new landscape. This was a MAJOR and complicated project. WAC Contracting did a phenomenal job!!! Wyatt Clark (owner) is one of the most committed, ethical, honest individuals we have ever worked with (and we have done many construction projects in the past); not to mention, a great guy! He was on the job every day and always accessible and responsive when we had questions or needed him for anything. He worked with us on an ongoing basis to keep us informed of costs and to manage the budget. Wyatt Clark Jr. (Wyatt's son) and his team who do all the framing were amazing! This was extremely complex and tricky framing and they did a beautiful and skilled job. All of the sub contractors that That WAC Contracting uses are excellent! For 10 months there were workers in and around our home and not once was there a problem. They were all very skilled, professional and courteous. Dianne Clark (Wyatt's wife) who runs the office side of the business does a phenomenal job! Not only is she extremely organized, keeping the business side running like a well oiled machine, she also has a great design eye and was a godsend when it came to making design decisions such as fixtures and finish materials! It is definitely 'buyer beware' when it comes to construction contractors; something we have learned over the years. It can be hard to find a company who will be honest, trustworthy and dependable and easy to work with, who's number one goal is achieving customer delight. WAC Contracting is that kind of company! Wyatt understands that his reputation is his business. We HIGHLY recommend WAC Contracting for any new construction, remodel or addition regardless of size and would definitely use them again!

We hired Wyatt Clark & Wyatt Clark, Jr. of WAC Contracting to remodel our master bathroom and I can highly recommend this company. The Clarks are respectful of a homeowner's time and do their best to arrive each day as scheduled. The quality of their work and the work of their sub contractors is excellent. I know I can call them anytime with questions or concerns.
