If you are hoping to find a professional, turn-key, stress free company to install low voltage wiring and/or home automation in new construction, this is not the company to depend on. Months ahead of starting my project, I sent Gus multiple emails mentioning what I currently had in my home and stating that I preferred to have the same configuration and/or a less expensive option. I sent photos that clearly represented my expectations and desires. Additionally, I had him visit my existing home to personally show him what I wanted, obtain costs, etc. Since Gus was an electronics “professional” I trusted him to properly advise me, communicate clearly and effectively with contractors and me, stick to the budget and be guided by the information and photos I sent numerous times. That did not happen. Gus did not communicate effectively with the builder, contractors or me. He did not pay attention to the information we provided about wiring, switches, functionality, etc. I ended up with more than necessary (Ex: 5 speakers and a receiver in a 16x13 room that is never used), missing wiring, missing switches, unmatched switches, had to rip out sheetrock to fix his mistakes, etc. The cost has continued to rise due to his lack of knowledge, inability to listen and failure to follow through. Many times, he did not tell the truth to cover up his mistakes and/or to negate his responsibility of making things right. Honesty was not Gus’s strong suit. When I signed the agreement with Gus, I was told there would not be additional costs and everything was included in the estimate. Obviously, that did not end up being the case. He never provided a diagram or any drawings of what he was installing and/or his plan. As a side note, while he was installing, he constantly called Control4 for guidance. In the end, I had to hire another contractor to correct Gus’s mistakes, wire areas that were left out, order Control4 engravings that he mismatched or did not include, and reprogram information that was not done correctly. Dealing with Gus was an absolute nightmare. I am sure he will lie if questioned about this review, but I am happy to provide documentation and testaments from other involved parties.
