“We hired Janet to help us design our home on Lake Travis. She was an absolute delight to work with throughout the entire process. I am one of those clients that has a very specific idea of what I want. And Janet is one of those designers that actually listens to what the client has in mind, and then helps them make it even better. She wan't creating her idea of our perfect home, she was helping us create our vision for our home. She was timely and professional, but also has a great sense of humor. Probbably the only negative thing anyone could say about her is that she is a work-a-holic...because she truly loves what she does! Would I hire her again? Absolutely! “Mr. Faucheux provided design services for a major addition to our house, a large covered patio with outdoor fireplace and bathroom bordering the backyard pool. After visiting some of Chad's designs at nearby Parade of Homes, we decided to ask him to help us with the project. He agreed and provided excellent design services. We went through several iterations as we changed our minds about walls, AC versus no AC, arches, materials, roof, and ceiling height. Chad provided creative ideas leading to the final design and always responded in a timely manner. He also provided good recommendations on contractors, one of which we used. He was very easy to work with and we would strongly recommend him for any architectural project you may have.”

“I own a home in East Austin and worked with Marcus to build a 900 square foot ADU and office / studio space on the back half of my lot. Overall it was a great experience and the end result is more design driven and high quality than I expected when I had the idea to build. Working with Marcus was a very collaborative process. He did a great job of listening to me and my goals for the project and proposing design ideas that I would have never envisioned on my own. That said, I also felt I had a hand in the design process and Marcus was great rethinking design elements that I felt didn't suit my needs or aesthetics. The result is a structure that has unique elements that reflect a creative process that I felt I had an active part in. The end result is an environment with features that I remember being born more as stories than drawings on paper. The project came in close to budget and I feel I got a more than I expected for the money I spent on the project. With a tight labor market and competition for resources in Austin, Marcus did a good job of navigating the challenges of the build process, whether that involved interactions with permitting and inspections or finding the right sub-contractors for a job that involved a lot of custom fabrication. Marcus and I were friends before the project, and still are, and that says a lot about the success of a build project that can experience the unexpected. The photos in this review are the project near completion in 2017 and recently in 2021.”

“Kim Gilpatrick (Design Traditions) is absolutely amazing! She goes above and beyond in all she does. From the beginning of our project (building a new home) she was determined to make it uniquely ours, not a "cookie cutter" design but one created to fit our family and our needs and the vision we had of our future home. Kim spent many hours sitting on our property, sketching and designing the plans to fit the land. She took the time to get to know us and how we, as a family, lived and functioned on a daily basis - whether just us or when we entertained a small or large gathering. She began by drawing up several different "renderings" and from there we gave her our feedback and she would listen, change and create. As we worked through the design process "our home" became a reality. Kim is extremely talented and creative. She truly listened to what we wanted and researched and gathered any and all things that would help to produce the home of our dreams. She enjoys the design aspect and takes pride in designing a project that is distinctive. Once the plans were finalized, Kim didn't leave us to our own devices, but stayed with us through out the building process as well. By doing this, the integrity of the design was maintained. She helped us with the material choices both inside and outside the home. If you are seeking someone to design a home or business that is beautiful, creative, stunning, inviting, and one that flows, you need not look any further. Kim will exceed your expectations! We have enjoyed our home each and every day since it's completion and there isn't anyone who enters that doesn't exclaim, "What an incredibly beautiful home!"”
