“My wife and I asked Tom Maxwell to replace a built-in wardrobe and include a bookcase to the side of it as an integral feature. From our first meeting with him we were most impressed by his interest, enthusiasm, knowledge and advice. With his help we arrived at an initial design and then he suggested we consider that and review it at leisure. He provided us with detailed drawings with the full specifications and a price. After consideration we changed some particulars and discussed them with him and he provided revised drawings. We visited him at his workshop so that we could examine and handle the woods that we were thinking of having used for our project and Tom gave us a very full briefing on their nature and qualities. We discussed finishes and he told us what he thought would best suit our needs as we had outlined them to him. He was also very helpful in advising us on handles, fitments etc and it was a delight to work with him and share in his enthusiasm for what he did. After we had confirmed the final design he gave us a definitive price and a timescale. His execution of the project was first class. The old wardrobe was removed and the new one and its accompanying bookcase were installed with a minimum of fuss and disruption and we are absolutely delighted with the result and feel proud to own such a lovely and unique piece of furniture. We look forward with pleasurable anticipation to working again with Tom and have already made a proposal to him to tackle a very difficult and complicated piece of cabinet making. We would recommend Tom and his colleague without reservation.”

“We are the owners of the handbuilt painted kitchen. We absolutely love it and two years on it is still standing the test of time. Gary worked from us right from initial design through to installation. We had seen the style of kitchen in a brochure which Gary was happy to work with and had lots of suggestions for improvement. He showed great attention to detail with his measurements and design and came all the way down to Kent twice to look at the space and then again for installation and fine tuning. His passion is furniture making as you can see from our beautiful "larder cupboard" which Gary was very excited to make and we were very excited to be able to include in our kitchen!! Gary also made some cabinets for our walk in pantry and our utility room, all in keeping with the kitchen style. All in all a beautiful handmade kitchen for an extremely affordable price. “We've used Matthew for a number of pieces of furniture in our house. We wanted pieces that were unique, well built out of quality materials and would fit exactly as we wanted them - something we couldn't find in the usual high street furniture shops. We ordered a computer desk, TV unit and a few side tables. We approached Matthew with a few basic ideas and he was able to sketch out some good designs for us that we could tweak and discuss the finer details as well as receive advice on what would work best. He was very helpful providing us with samples of colours and fixtures explaining how various materials would last and change with age - he also advised on how costs could be kept more reasonable through careful choice of cheaper woods in some interior fittings where the overall look would not be compromised. He then made the units (quite quickly) at a good price and the quality is superb. I wouldn't hesitate to use Matthew again, all I really need is a suitable excuse.”
