Fiber and Water represents a collection of hand-pressed designs on natural fibers, that make a unique piece of burlap wall art. Every item is carefully constructed in our studio on the coast of Maine. All artwork is created by the inspirations in life, travel & cuisine.
Under the name of Festive Fish I produce a line of cards, prints, posters, a calendar and more all from original work. I also design and produce a line of fabric with which I create accent pillows that will add a pop of color to any home or cottage. I do take commission work for interiors, color consulting and misc. projects within my realm of color, whimsy and style. It is my custom work that I find really inspiring. My clients requests challenge me and require me to stretch and grow, and for this I am truly grateful.

Growing up in Maine, with its abundant natural resources and beauty, has had a significant influence on my creativity and inspiration. I make all of my own papers to convey a sensitivity and detail of nature that cannot be obtained by other methods. I hand harvest natural elements such as flowers and seeds to add texture, color, and design to my papers. By education I am a metal smith and love combining multiple mediums to create unique lighting, home décor, accessories and jewelry that are heirloom quality. I love bringing a little bit of nature indoors for everyday enjoyment. Custom orders are always welcome so please contact me about creating something for your unique space.

For over 25 years, I have been heavily involved in my passion of woodworking. "Carpentry" is a pretty general description of what the public views someone who works with wood. While that is in no way a poor description, modern day carpentry is quite diverse and has many specialties. For over 25 years I have had an insatiable appetite for improving and honing my skills. I never waste my time fearing of competition. My concern is "What am I doing to be the best that I can be?" To continually refine systems, applications and contribute with my fellow tradesmen. If you want to categorize what it is that I exactly do as a "carpenter", I guess I would suggest that you may consider me a cabinet maker first, then continue onto custom staircases, cabinet installation, millwork installation (crown, box beam ceilings, columns, mantels). One of my passions in life is cnc's (computer numerically controlled equipment). I am in the process of designing and building my very own custom cnc. It will be one of Maine's largest 4 axis cnc machines (61" x 145" table) with a projected service date of Summer 2013. My past projects have included Spanish cedar garage doors, Maple day bed, vanities, medicine cabinets, Walnut countertop, historical porch, classical painted entrance moulding, a band stage for a pretty rough crowd in the old Port, 10' high wainscot at a private golf course, a commercial mahogany bar, tiger stripe Maple library, New England style cupola, circular staircase, and one of the nicest dang sheds you have ever seen! And that is what I have been doing only for the last 3 years! What is it that you dream of? What are your desires? I have always wanted to take the time to make myself a Morris chair. Ohhhh....the ultimate in comfortable chairs!
