Wall cabinets on bar area feature clear glass inserts and recessed bottoms for under cabinet lighting throughout. Rolling ladder with rail around the kitchen for access of upper wall cabinets. The design of the kitchen is finished with granite countertops, white subway tile and stainless steel appliances. The traditional design calls for a large farmhouse sink designed with leg posts on either side and decorative toe kick valance. Ceiling puck lighting and the existing chandelier reinforce the traditional style of this kitchen. Featuring all Brookhaven and Wood-Mode inset cabinets.

Design Inspiration:
The client requested a luxury open plan kitchen, living and dining space that would be in keeping with the stunning oak beamed ceiling in their home.
What Searle & Taylor created:
This full bespoke open plan design features Shaker fronts on chamfered frames and cabinetry with a walnut finished interior with solid walnut edging and dove-tailed drawer boxes. All cabinets were hand-painted in Bottle Rack Grey by Finnish paint company, Valtti. The central kitchen island was designed as the focal point, but also as a fully functional unit with a walnut breakfast bar at one end and a circular end-grain walnut drum with end-grain chopping board at the other, which incorporated further hand-made walnut chopping boards and tea trays encased beneath. Together with storage drawers and under counter cabinets within the island, an integrated wine fridge was also included. The black granite worktops are Marron Cohiba and appliances are from Gaggenau, Liebherr and Elica, with sinks by Franke and hot water tap by Quooker.
A further Shaker style seating area was designed facing the island with a hidden shelf directly behind concealing a pop-up widescreen TV. A further hand-painted oak dresser was designed and made to complement the client’s oak dining table. This incorporated slide and hide pocket doors.

This Bucks County beauty was crafted for the clients to be the centerpiece of their new farmhouse reproduction home in Bucks County. It features Yorktowne cabinetry in a "distressed" hand finished fawn color on the walls and a "cashew" color on the island. This kitchen has features galore including 2 islands, 4 ovens, a seperate refrigerator and freezer along with a wine refrigerator and an icemaker. No detail was overlooked in this kitchen. The island were crafted to look like fine furnature and feature tons of storage. What looks like "decorative panels" are actually cabinets! The custom hood crowns this beautiful kitchen and surrounds a world class ventilation system allowing the clients to create wonderful gourmet meals without having to worry about "smelling" up the home, or setting off their smoke detectors. So, the task of creating a reproduction farmhouse kitchen on a grand scale with all the conveniences of today came out "Beautiful"! Photo Credit: Bruce Roth

Shuler Architecture
This small remodel was a make-over of a turn-of -the-century Four Square in Seattle's University District. Like many houses in Seattle's north end, this structure was extremely run down after years of abuse and deferred maintenance. Though we were initially engaged to remodel the kitchen, the scope of this project quickly morphed into a whole house remodel once we discovered that all the systems – mechanical, electrical and plumbing - and nearly every finish in the house was in an advanced state of disrepair.
Our client initially wanted a kitchen that celebrated his Italian heritage and love for cooking. Our response was our favorite Great Room plan with a Tuscan theme. The kitchen, now an integral part of the main level, has become the social hub of the house and opens directly into the Dining Room. We also added a Powder Bath on the Main Level and a Master Bath make-over upstairs.
