il y a 9 ansHi. Does she still like animals or is there anything else she really likes? I would probably go paint with maybe a wall decal to add interestnewton81 a remercié minnie101newton81
Auteur d'origineil y a 9 ansthank you. Minnie I'm avoiding any characters so that the room has a bit of longevity. Still loves animals, cats, flowers, dinosaurs, colours and sparkles.minnie101
il y a 9 ansThat makes sense, no frozen characters then?! I think I'd go for duck egg walls with a bit of a woodland theme. Something similarish to this image from Benjamin Moore. Add a large tree wall decal in a corner (which can be removed later) and either colourful butterfly decals or the ones you can attach to the walls placed in a flock (?!)over the bed. Alternatively try a bed canopy, this is from vertbaudet, as is the chair. They have quite a few cute bits at a reasonable prices, do also look at their curtains. Dress the bed with animal shaped cushions in different colours and add a colourful rug. Try not on the high street for owls or lullabuy.co.uk and the fox is from design55online. I can't find a good cat one yet! Add a white black out roller blind and maybe some light white or voile type curtains with flowers or butterflies.newton81 a remercié minnie101newton81
Auteur d'origineil y a 9 ansooh all great ideas thank you.
The rest of the house downstairs will be white with colour accessories, including the playroom. As we are in a flat she has a lot of her toys in the room but hoping to now separate play area and a calming, relaxing bedroom. love the idea of a little canopy/drapes but worry a little about her accidently getting it wrapped round her neck.mrsmcee74
il y a 9 ansI would paint three walls white and have a striped wallpaper which gives plenty of colour options for accessories. This would last a long time, it's just as suitable for a teenager as a little one. There's tons of choice out there, I love the colours in this wallpaper by Scion: http://www.wallpaperdirect.com/products/scion/hoppa-stripe/124331newton81 a remercié mrsmcee74minnie101
il y a 9 anshttp://www.houseofmanyhues.com/2010/08/branches-in-the-bedroom/ You could also try a ceiling canopy depending on how creative you want to be, similar to the link. Personally I might be tempted by a real or fake branch with fairy lights but that may be a bit far! You could stick to the White or duck egg walls and just add pastel accessories to keep it calm. This white tree is from ebay, it shows a cot but I don't think this is restricted to a young child. As long as you keep your walls, floor and curtains neutral, the room will grow with your daughter. Follow go in from mrsmcee suggestion, scion also do the cute Mr fox wallpaper which also come in light shadesamma1011
il y a 9 ansI love the idea from piijojo above. White walls and colourful accessories will have longevity.Laura
il y a 9 ansYou don't need to avoid characters completely just incorporate them in a way that can be updated as they grow. I didn't want borders or wallpaper that would become dated so I framed posters of Disney characters for my son's nursery. Now he's 4 and loves all things Marvel so I'm about to replace them with posters of his favourite superhero's.Tryphic
il y a 9 ansI would keep the walls a plain colour, cream, white, pale green, whatever and use decals to provide some interest. They peel on and off I believe, so as she grows and her interests change, so can the decals. Personally I wouldn't decorate specifically to a toddler, but to a girl who is going to grow and form her own opinions! As no doubt she is already! Good luck and have fun. Keep the big areas plain (ish) and 'decorate' with the details.Pat Oliver Interior Design
il y a 9 ansIf you're going to keep some items from her nursery, why not start with the rug? A pale version of the peach colour would work well on her walls and decals can be changed as she grows up. Remember that paint colour is easy to change and cost effective, so concentrate on the more permanent items in the room like the storage furniture, bed, etc. They should be suitable for now and as she grows into a teenager.newton81
Auteur d'origineil y a 9 ansOh wow Anna that sounds so exciting!!! I do quite like the idea of space. She loves rockets and stars, so this may work really well on one wall. So many super ideas!! xNatalie Patton
il y a 9 ansAnna I love the idea of stars that can only be seen at night Iv looked and can't find any pictures or info on how to do it. Can you explain please?helensuthy
il y a 9 ansIf she likes stars, this is a favourite wallpaper of mine http://www.nubie.co.uk/content/star-wallpaper-hibou-home-blush-white , they have lovely Scandinavian animal wall hooks to continue a bit of an animal themenewton81

il y a 8 ansPaint it pink in a diamond eggshell finish complete with woodwork in white, I recommend a gloss finish.
Wouldn't recommend traditional wallpaper as kids being kids and all but there are half wall wallpaper murals which come from the ceiling down to about halfway, just enough so the children can see but not touch.
They come in loads of different designs and are usually a theme rather than a pattern so for example the whole cast of whinny the PPP etcMatthew Decorator
il y a 8 ansWhinny the poo etc.
Also the specific paint finishes I recommended are because they're scrubbable and sort resistantlouloux
il y a 8 ansHow about various Browns and beiges with white furniture accessories making it neutral, it can be jazzed up with different funky bed covers as she gets older, it's not too girly or too themed towards one thing and is very easy to build different colour themes around.V.I.P Walls Interior Specialist

il y a 7 ansI would recommend white painted walls. Add accessories that are colorful if you wish. You can change it anytime you want. Depending on the space, I would definitely add something like raw thick tree branch. You can then make some fairy doors on it in color. Interaction with a child making these doors :)
I would also choose funky prints of animals over the decals. Or have some animal heads hung on the walls.
Children loves cozy spaces canopy is the thin. I would recommend Numero 74. I love their range of colors and quality.
Add some cool pillows. If you are into diy, make some. Paint on it, embroider, use different techniques to apply color and texture to the room.Have more than one lighting source: fairylights, floor lamp, etc.
If you want something really cool: cover ceiling in polka dots. Don't paint it. You can cut out some cardpaper circles and stick it with blutack. Use different sizes one color rather than having different colors. Take it off when tired of it easily.
Enjoy decorating the room :)

il y a 7 ansJust a word on decals - my daughter peeled them all off the wall after I'd spent ages getting them right - three year olds can be tricky little customers! I'd bear in mind too that despite your best efforts there will be blobs, pen and worse on the walls as time goes on, so you might want to keep the walls easily re-paintable, at least up to the height she can reach for the next little while. Could you keep the decor simple up to around adult height then put design features higher up?
